Lee's PoV
Elle had woken up that morning looking a whole lot better. She and Noah seemed to be on better terms, when she was crying he gave her and hug and she excepted it. Elle was still dealing with the loss of her family, but she'd frozen Lee out almost. He tried to talk to her but she wouldn't answer him with sentences. More like 'yes', 'no', and his favorite 'okay'. His mom had her hands full with Elle's family's funeral so she couldn't give him any advice. And Noah, well, he's just Noah. He heard a phone ring. His mom shouted
"I'll get it!" He went downstairs to listen to the conversation. He listened from around the kitchen corner.
"Yes well we would love to take her in. Yes I will be willing to legally adopt her as my own." She paused.
"No that won't be necessary." She paused again.
"I'll come by to fill out the paper work with my husband and Elle tomorrow." She sighed and hung up the phone.
"That's one problem solved." Lee heard her say. "Now for the funeral, god I hate this poor Elle." He heard her say in a slay voice.
"Lee what are you doing?" He heard Noah say behind him. Lee jolted and turned around.
"Uh Nothing."
"Lee are you okay?" Noah asked wearily.
"Yeah I am. Uh h-how's Elle?" Noah didn't look satisfied.
"Lee what's wrong?" He asked again.
"We might be legally adopting Elle."
"So? That's a good thing." Lee looked at him exasperated.
"Let's not forget the extremely sexual relationship you had with her. You broke her heart how do you think she'll feel living with someone who did that?" Lee asked.
"Lee first of all, don't talk about my sex life it's creepy and second of all it'll be fine."

"How?" Noah knew he couldn't tell Lee. Elle had to. Not because Lee would throw a hissy fit but because he'd judge Elle for having a moment of weakness with Noah.
"Lee we have an understanding okay. We've made our peace." Lee snickered.
"Understatement of the year." Noah was confused.
"You think I didn't notice Elle not in her bed last night, or I didn't hear you walk her down the hall. Noah I'm not stupid. I know what's up. Okay she doesn't need this right now. Okay you still broke her heart. How do you think she's going to feel when she'd sleeping with you in this house under our parents protection?"
"Lee if she wants to end it she can, but I won't do that to her again, not now, not ever."
"Hey what's going on?" Their mom rounded the corner.
"Uh nothing." They said in unison. She rolled her eyes.
"Okay. Also it's official we have custody of Elle."

Again from Scratch Saga: Izmittor Unchained
If someone precious to you needed your help, would you extend it? Would you still do it if it costs you your peace and perhaps even your life? For Tercius, a man mysteriously reborn nearly thirteen years ago, there was only one answer to both questions. Feeling compelled, he sets out to journey to the northern Sogea and its infamous Western Izmittor mountain range, a natural stronghold of sky tearing mountains and deep canyons. Legends about the place abounded, but he knew without a doubt that the hidden valleys, rushing rivers, thick forests, and desolate landscapes hid powerful predators, the likes of which stalk the harsh terrains for an easy source of meat and bones. The many natural dangers of Western Izmittor would be hard enough to navigate safely for a lone traveler, but to make matters worse Tercius had enemies in the heights of Western Izmittor, humans and spirits who would see him dead if they ever learned of his true connection to the Pyramid of Tergaron and the Society of the Magi. To make things even more difficult, he also had to ensure that the true extent of his own Innate Skills remained hidden, for if the prying eyes of the world fell on him and his many secrets came to light, then he would never again know a day of peace. Can one reborn man manage to keep his secrets and still succeed in doing what his conscience compels him to? Will he have to choose one over the other? And can he do any of it without reigniting the sparks of a planetary war the likes of which had not been seen in millennia? Follow Tercius’ story and find out! *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** This story is a continuation of Again from Scratch, a story of mine also posted on RR. Red Street Daybreak
August Samuel Hatch was born under an inauspicious pattern of stars. It's granted him what is widely considered the most unlucky of inconveniences: becoming host to a powerful but pernicious spirit that will act as his guide and protector--and one day end his life. Sairne is sworn to stand by August's side and, when the fancy strikes her, advise him, all in the service of atoning for a past life she can’t remember having committed a grave enough offense to earn her soul indentureship in the mortal realm. Bound by a celestial contract neither one can negotiate, their fates are all they've ever known. But in a city ruled by religious right and where magic runs deep as bedrock, their search for a missing friend leads them to a dark conspiracy that could transmute the very magic that binds them to their fates, and that might grant them the ultimate choice: do they save the city or save themselves? Cross-posted on Wattpad and Ao3. For fans of fantasy YA story beats if they starred adults instead, 1920s inspired setting, lots of banter, larger cast of characters, somewhat soft magic system. Completed, but being actively edited prior to posting! I'm the only captain on this ship, so mind any errors.
