"Well, we can't just stand here staring." I took my sister's hand and led her to the front steps. I rang the fancy doorbell and we waited.
"Hello?" The door opens and we see one of the twin brothers.
"Hey Hikaru." Akane waves.
"Huh? How'd you know I'm Hikaru?"
"Um... because you're Hikaru?" My sister shrugs awkwardly. Hikaru looked a little perplexed before coming back to his senses and let us in.
Geez, might as well buy a castle, it was even bigger inside than out. If this was the average rich home, than Akane and I are far below average. Just being inside made me feel out of place.
"Kaoru! Your girlfriend's here!" Hikaru hollered. Akane elbowed him sharply,
"It's not like that!" She hissed.
I hear footsteps,
"Oy vey, Hikaru! I swear it's not like that..." Kaoru trots quickly down the stairs. He was wearing a red shirt with a sports logo, dark skinny jeans, and high-tops. And I thought Akane was underdressed.
"I thought you guys would dress a little fancier..." Hikaru prodded Kaoru's stomach.
"Hey! Stop that!" Kaoru smacked his hands away.
"What do you think we're going to do? Go to a fancy dinner or something as awkward as that?"
"Kind of hoping so..." Hikaru mumbles.
"Anyway," Akane intrudes.
"We should get going."
"Yeah. Don't burn down the house when we're gone."
"I'm not that immature." I snap. Kaoru smiles at me,
"I'm talking to Hikaru."
"Hey!"
Kaoru laughs and kneels down so he's at my four-foot seven height. He puts a hand on top of my head,
"Keep an eye out for my brother and I'll keep an eye out for your sister. We'll call that even, okay?" I look at him for a few seconds.

He sounds like a brother. Like, a really good one. I never had an older brother, and I wish that I did sometimes. I only have three older sisters-- one of them dead, the other famous and away. Suddenly, the feeling of missing them came over me and tears threatened to form. I answer quickly,
"Okay." I blurt.
"Okay, take care." I bit my tongue, not wanting to cry-- not in front of Akane.
Akane hugs me,
"Be good, Chirou. I won't be long." I bury my face in her neck,
"Please be safe." I beg, hiding the shakiness I was now feeling.
"Mm." She lets go and I already miss her.
"See you guys later!" Hikaru swoops me off my feet and puts me on his shoulders,
"We'll have the time of our lives here!" I watch her and Kaoru leave and get in a limo-- which I thought was a little embarrassing for Akane-- and watch them pull out onto the road and drove off until they were no longer within my sight.
I wish I could go with her, but... I don't want to ruin it. Not that I was that much trouble, but I feel like I did enough damage to her already. It even shows on her body.
