《Baki the grappler(various) X reader》Spec (2)

Sitting in a half empty cafe, attempting to write something or at least come up with a story for the picture that u took the other day of Spec and the young boy in the field. Grasping at your head, you ruffled your hair furiously and out of frustration you let out a loud sigh that you swore it made other patrons in the cafe turn their attention to you.
As you were busy fussing over the article you were working on, you didn't notice that time passed by so quickly that the sun had went down. The only time you came to realise your surroundings was when one of the waitresses tapped on your shoulders and told you that they were closing for the day. Packing your things up and leaving for home, since your apartment is only a walking distance away from the cafe, you decided to go to the playground to clear your mind of work for a bit. Sitting in one of the swings and slowly swaying and thinking about life, you failed to notice another presence behind you until a huge shadow loomed over your smaller figure.
“Ooh if it isn't little miss birdy.” an all too familiar voice rang into your ears, turning to fave the direction or the voice you saw Spec. Ah, speak of the devil. “oh hey... Wait, I thought you were in prison? Did you escape???” you almost shouted. “Well I wouldn't say I escaped. Its more like I'm taking a stroll and exploring this wonderful area.” he replied smugly. You raised a brow at his claim then turned your head back forward and continued to swing yourself. From the corner of your eye you noticed Spec taking a seat at a nearby stone bench since the swing set probably couldn't hold his weight. Sighing contently, he leaned against the iron fencing of the playground and looking up to the orange, evening skies. “so uhm... What exactly are your intentions coming all the way here, to Japan? If you uh don't mind me asking?” Spec turned his head to you and pondered for awhile about what to tell you. “Hmmm well I don't know if you would understand this. But I came here looking for defeat. I want to have a taste of what it feels like to be defeated.” he grinned widely. Feeling a bit confused about why would such a dangerous convict want to purposely surrender himself to lose. Then a rough idea came into your mind why he would want that. “If I may inquire that its because you had been the strongest and unbeatable for too long and felt the need to find something else new and challenging to spice up your life?” “Why yes! Ah, finally someone who actually understood what I'm saying without having to ask much questions!” seemingly very surprised that someone like you, a mere normal person with no connections or background of any form of martial arts to grasp his ideology. “huh, well good luck finding a worthy opponent, Spec.” you got up and walked towards the exit of the playground “anyways, I better head home. It's getting darker and I gotta go feed my (pet). He's most probably missing me already.” you snickered thinking about your (pet)'s reaction when you get home. “So... We ya around. I guess...” waving awkwardly at him before turning to leave. “what a peculiar human being...” Spec thought to himself, truly intrigued by (Y/N) 's personality.

The Line-Drive
"'Bye.' I say after Edwin's kiss. He gives me a small smile that honestly looks more like a grimace. It makes me a little uncomfortable having him kiss me in the library. Edwin walks away, and someone standing in the corner of my vision makes me turn in my seat. A tall, muscular man is standing there, his arms crossed, staring at me. He's got dark brown hair, perfect eyebrows, and soft brown eyes. Honestly, he's gorgeous. And since I've read, and edited, about five articles about him, I recognize him immediately.Dane Sawyer. He's the best pitcher on our baseball team. He's hoping to go pro, although I'm not totally sure what the process is surrounding that, since I don't retain much of the information from the articles that I read about him. I know that he's also a junior, and that his girlfriend is hot as fuck. I've seen them together on campus. They're hard to miss because they are easily one of the most attractive couples that I've ever seen. I'm convinced that I must be hallucinating, because he makes eye contact and walks towards me. 'That was awkward.'"~~~Junior year is starting off chaotic for Mackenzie Brooks as she steps into her role as the editor-in-chief of the college's newspaper. She's smart, focused on school, the paper, and her TA responsibilities. Junior year should be starting off easy for Dane Sawyer. He's the star pitcher of the baseball team; attractive, athletic, desirable, with a hot girlfriend. Unfortunately, he's also failing computer science which is the one thing he sees that is in the way of his pro career. Different in more ways that one, when the two run into each other in the library, it's an immediate disaster. But when Dane convinces Mackenzie to be his tutor, both of their lives begin to change.

Earth Exodus
Elliot isn't the first one taken, he was the last, or one of them at least. Careless divines, gods, or higher powers had been snatching humans through numerous means over the years. Those that returned brought minor tokens of their previous power if anything at all. Over time unrestrained magic became commonplace on earth. Which must have brought attention to us. The earth is ravaged by increasing levels of rogue magics, divines, and a war over resources and experience. Eventually resulting in a mass exodus of the remaining powerless humans by a coalition of gods. Now translocated to Vauthia where everyone has been given a path to power. They're met with an unfortunate reality. They've only been rescued from one dying world to be tasked with saving the new one. While at the same time they're apparently supposed to compete with one another. Meanwhile Elliot wasn't just given a path to power. He was given a choice. The opportunity for true power is offered. When as he reaches for it the power isn't all it's cracked up to be.Systemless in a world where everyone else has access to one Elliot must grapple with a multitude of problems from without and within. The 'gods' might actually be incompetent, uncaring, downright malicious, or all three. His power is constantly three steps behind those who chose the quick path to power. There's also the antisocial tendencies he's brought with him from earth. Can he trust the 'god' who seems to be taking him under their wing? Will he be able to catch up to his fellow earthlings who're ever increasing in power? Is it possible he may just break out of his shell along the way?*** What to expect ***The initial start will be quite slow, building the setting, history, and individuals involved. There is a small bit of progression in these early chapters for the MC, but more along the lines of figuring out how their systemless power works. though once the story gains traction it won't stop.*** Don't tell Elliot, but ***Elliot hates to admit it but he's very clearly antisocial. Not to mention troubles with thinking that stem from several un-diagnosed disorders he'd rather believe don't exist.*** Image Copyright *** //In this satellite image released by Copernicus Sentinel imagery, 2020 twitter page dated Dec. 31, 2019, shows wildfires burning across Australia.
