《The Pain Called Love (Kaoru x Reader)》8: Dad

>>Y/n POV
I was discharged from the hospital, and apparently going to my fathers house? I was diagnosed with temporary amnesia, (don't kill me idk if it's real it is now deal with it) and within the last year I have gone through a lot. According to my dad, at least.
I couldn't get rid of this uneasy feeling, though. Like something happened, that I need to know about. I still had so many questions. How did I rekindle my relationship with my dad? Where is mom? Why was the host club in my hospital room?
"How is your head, hun?"
"The more I think, the worse my head hurts. I have so many questions."
"I understand. I think I might have a plan on how to help you, though." My father smiled, placing his large hand on top of mine. I looked up into his e/c eyes, that observed me so carefully.
"What's that?"
"So, I'm going to start with me, for example, we will spend the next two or three days together and I will try to answer any questions you have about me, and try to get some kind of spark of memory. Then, after the few days, I'll have one of your friends come over to try. Only one at a time, though, so you aren't overwhelmed."
"That...makes sense...I think..."
He only smiled in return, taking his hand off of mine, and looking out of the window. We sat in silence the rest of the car ride, just watching all of the scenery pass by.
Once we pulled up to a large mansion, Hunter stepped out from behind the wheel of the limo, and helped me out. He gave me a sympathetic look, bowing to my dad as we began making our way inside.
"Hunter, can you show Y/n to her room? I'll send one of the maids to help you out if you need."
"Thank you, but I think I can handle it." I said, following Hunter up the large set of stairs. He turned right, and I followed. We soon stood in front of a door, and he opened it to reveal the room that was presumably mine.
"Thank you." I waved to Hunter, and walked in. I glanced around the room, noticing the walls were f/c. The bed was neatly made, with satin sheets and a beautiful, fluffy comforter. I turned, and came face to face with a bulletin board with a large amount of pictures pinned onto it.

I stepped forward, and began to observe each photo.
The first one that caught my eye was a photo of Kairi and I, one that looked like that it was taken not too long ago. So I guess we were friends again? I'd have to ask dad about that.
The next photo was one of the entire host club. I noticed the twins, with me standing between them. Tamaki hugging onto some brown haired boy, Kyoya staring at him disapprovingly, and then Honey and Mori senpai. I knew them all just by their names and social standings, except for the one boy being hugged by Tamaki.
Guess I did become friends with them, huh.
My eyes shifted to the next picture, causing my cheeks to flare red. It was a simple picture of just Kaoru and I. It appeared to be a selfie, I was holding up the camera as Kaoru stood behind me with his arms around my waist, and planting a kiss onto my cheek.
That doesn't make sense. Were we...are we dating...?
I watched as Kaoru was the last to leave the room, his eyes focused on mine. A single tear fell down his cheek as he walked out.
That would make sense. That's why he took the news so hard.
Wait, if I supposedly rekindled my friendship with Kairi, why didn't she come visit me in the hospital? And that one purple haired girl, she came yet there's no photos up here of her.
The rest of the photos were just an assortment between the host club and Kairi. It cleared some of the confusion, but I still wanted to know how I became so close with those guys. I want to call Kairi and ask how we became friends again.
But, I decided to just wait. Father was waiting for me, so I need to get changed and meet him.
I walked into the large closet, picked out a simple pair of black leggings and a sweater, then left. I walked out of my room, and glanced down the hall to see my father walking up. He waved, meeting me at my door.
"Hey, So, ready to start?"
"I am."
"I called your friends, they all agreed with the plan, and the school has understood your predicament, so you are off until we know fully what will happen."
"Thank you, can I have one request on who I see next?"

"Hm?" My father raised his eyebrow at me, as he nodded and began walking back down the hall and towards the stairs.
"I wanna see Kairi next."
He stopped in his tracks, causing me to lightly bump into him. I heard him mutter a curse under his breath, and begin sweating nervously.
"Okay. But, first you will need to speak to her parents. I'll set up a meeting with them tomorrow. See if they can come over to speak to you about it."
"Okay!" I smiled, and we continued down the stairs.
He took a deep breath, and led me to a room that seemed to be his office. We walked in, closed the door, and sat across from each other.
Silence filled the room for a bit, until my father stood up, grabbed a book then sat back down. He opened it, revealing pages upon pages of photos.
"Ask me anything." He said, looking up at me. I nodded, taking a deep breath.
"Okay. Why am I here, and not at moms?"
He looked up, then back down at the album. He pulled out a photo, handing it to me.
I took the picture, studying it. It was a photo of my father, mother and I. I was probably about three in the photo.
"I've always wanted to come speak with you. Tell you how sorry I was for leaving, and how I didn't leave by choice. Your mother was mad I didn't want to give you the business. I wanted you to choose your own path, not follow mine. So, she forced me to leave."
"Then, why did you come back?"
"I was always apprehensive about coming back. The final straw was when I was at work, and I received a phone call. This man demanding I give ransom for my daughter, for he had kidnapped her. The call was dropped when I heard your voice say in the background that I didn't love you. So, I had to prove that I did. I came back to show you how much I've always loved you."
I took a breath, rubbing the tears from my eyes. That makes sense.
"You're mother was more than willing to give you up. She didn't put up a fight. I got you out of there before she could do anything worse."
I nodded, handing back the photo. He soon handed me a photo with four people. Him, me, a little boy with the same hair and eye color as me, and a beautiful woman.
"That is my son, your half brother, B/n. And my wife, Roselyn. B/n will take on the family business once he comes to the appropriate age. They both love you very much."
"They look like wonderful people. I hope I can meet them soon."
"B/n is at school at the moment, I'm sure he will be excited to see you once he's home. You guys spend a lot of time together."
This made me smile. I've always wanted a little brother or sister. And knowing that I had one was so exciting.
"As you already know, the doctor said it is actually a year later from what you think. You are a second year in school now, so until we figure out if this amnesia is permanent, you can't go back. In case it is, you might have to go back a grade so you don't fail your classes."
"I see."
"But, let's not worry about that. Let's be happy that you are at least well, and there was no damage. The doctor said you were close to rebreaking your arm."
"REbreaking?"
"When you were kidnapped, you had broken arm trying to fend off the men. You were very brave." He smiled, his eyes shining as they stared at me.
I couldn't help but smile with him. "I'm a tough cookie."
"You are." He smiled, putting away the album after putting the photo away.
~~
We spent the next few hours just talking, when the doors opened to reveal a little boy with h/c. I smiled to him, knowing it was B/n.
"Big sister!" He teared up, running up to hug me. I stood, kneeling to be his height as we hugged.
"So, you really don't remember me?" He sniffled, pulling away. He was adorable!
"I'm afraid so, but I can't wait to re-Get to know you. If you're okay with that?"
"Of course!" He sobbed, hugging tighter onto me. I can't believe how happy I actually was, I know I don't remember anything about everyone who is currently around me, but I'm excited to see how they want to get me to remember.
Plus, a strange feeling in my heart is really excited to see Kaoru, again.
