Conversation could be heard beyond the front gate, which was also the entrance me and Kurapika had been 'guarding'. We hid behind one of the game stations, trying to listen in on their discussions as best we could. 'They appeared to be human, and around Killua and Gon's ages at that. Will they pose as a threat?'
Then a new voice came in and started lecturing them for no apparent reason. How many were there? Kurapika looked worried, and if I had to guess it would be because Killua and Gon had no clue of what was happening.
Perhaps if we reminded them that the property had been taken, they would leave without causing a scene.
"Hey, who are you people?!" I shouted. This way, The two be aware that something was wrong.
Silence.
I stepped out and strolled towards the gate, where I observed three people crouched down against the ground. I came to a stop to let them realize I had spotted them, however only one of them stood up almost instantly.
"Please accept our apologies, sir! I had no clue this property was taken. However, do you mind if we stay overnight? If you prefer, we can leave in the morning!" One of the younger boys said, bowing politely.
"What do you think Killua's reaction to this will be?" Kurapika questioned, suddenly standing beside me. "He's going to lose it. Gon will be fine though, I'm sure, so Killua will eventually get over it ." I answer, both of us chose to let them in.
"No funny business, you got that?" Kurapika stated firmly as the lock hit the ground for the hundredth time. They eagerly nodded and raced inside, sighing as they collapsed to the ground. The third and final, a female, entered casually and sat next to the two boys on the ground.

Just then, Gon sprinted towards us, accompanied by Killua. "What? What happened? We heard a yell." He panted, resting his hands on his knees.
Killua appeared to have been the first to notice the intruders, as he stood in front of Gon and shielded him from the newcomers.
"Who are you people?" With a frightening tone, he queried.
The group's female member stood to her feet and cleared her throat, preparing herself for their formal introduction.
"Hello fellow survivors, My name is Biscuit, but please call me Bisky. This here is Zushi and his pal Ikalgo. As Zushi told your friends previously, we are only looking for a safe place to spend the night as we've been walking for a while nonstop." Bisky explained, pointing toward the two boys as she introduced them.
"Oh, It's great to meet you! My name is Gon. this is Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika. I'm hoping that we'll become great friends." Gon smiled as he pushed out from behind Killua so he could be seen.
"Sure, what he said," Killua grumbles, unhappy that Gon tossed him aside.
Eventually we'd all found a spot around the dying campfire, getting to know one another. Ikalgo had apparently kept a golf club hidden behind his back throughout the entire introduction in case we happened to be the bad guys.
When the subject of where we were staying popped up, Bisky revealed that they were on the run at the time and didn't have anywhere to go. We had the same problem at the moment, so it wasn't hard to relate.
"We recently lost our home and have been on the run since the treehouse. I was considering asking the others in my group if we could find a farmhouse to live in for a while?" Kurapika elaborated, eventually turning it into a question.
That reminded me that finding food was the primary reason we were here in the first place. After seeing something intriguing like this, I genuinely forgot about it.

We all promptly agreed to Kurapika's suggestion since we didn't have any other alternatives.
"Bisky, Ikalgo, and Zushi, why don't you come and live with us until you get back on your feet?" Gon remarked, silently seeking our approval as well.
It seemed to be a good idea; the more people we have, the more work we can undertake. Killua was the only one who initially seemed reluctant and eventually gave in due to Gon's pleading.
And that was that. Our group had evolved into seven, for now.
We started packing up as soon as morning dawned.
We had realized that with the amount of food she had left, Retz wouldn't be able to last more than five weeks.
We only stumbled across a handful of fruits and vegetables, some snacks, very limited spices, and a few jugs of water. We packed whatever we could into our trunk, just to discover that there weren't enough seats in the car for all of us. We'd make it work.
Without anyone noticing, I stole a few items for the trip. If anyone found out, I'd share, although it would make me upset.
We loaded into the car after double-checking everything, which really doesn't sound like it would take long, but somehow it really does. I sat in the backseat, with Bisky in the middle and Ikalgo on Zushi's lap. They were on the brink of strangling each other before remembering that homies snuggle all the time. They were fine after that.
Kurapika drove whilst Gon sat in the passenger seat alongside Killua. We decided that because Kurapika had wanted to pick the house, this would be the ideal seating arrangement for the time being.
"Why don't you pick a house near the forest, Kurapika?" Gon suggested. Kurapika gave a brief nod, signifying that he liked the idea.
That was the last thing said before there was a long awkward pause. Gon waved his hand, revealing Retz's old crossbow, making Killua gasp and gently shake Gon's shoulders. "Was that why you wanted to know if I could make arrows?" He asked, and Gon simply responded with a smile.
"At the very least, I decided this would be better than a gun. We could try these things as long as they are quiet enough to not alert walkers." He reasoned.
Conversation spread through the small car as Kurapika slowly pulled into a long driveway, catching the attention of everyone.
"This place appears to be just fine."
