《Infected [killugon/killuaxgon]》Raccoon

Leorio patched up Killua's scratched leg who was resting his back against a nearby wall, wincing as Leorio treated him the same way he had been handled after the bolt hit him in the forehead. I stood next to them silently observing.
"That should be all good now, buddy. For the time being, don't strain it." Leorio explained as he repackaged his ointments and bandages into a small case he carried in his suit pocket. How is that suit so flexible?
I sat next to Killua with a faint grin on my face as he fled the room. "How come it's always me now?" He groaned and buried his head in his hands. "Perhaps you'd like to know what happened to the Raccoon?" I replied, smiling as he looked up at me with a cocked eyebrow.
"It's completely free to run about in the basement. I believe Ikalgo renamed it Gremlin because of its ugliness. Everyone decided to keep it." He rubbed his eyes and leaned against the wall, staring at me in horror. "Gremlin is without a doubt the worst name I've ever heard. It does nonetheless, fit. Do you know its gender yet?" Killua murmured, his gaze resting on me.
"I believe it's a girl since females prefer to build nests wherever they are most comfortable, whilst boys opt to stay in trees. But we don't know for sure." I explained, and he nodded in agreement. "Newsflash, It's not a boy," Ikalgo was now standing in the dining room doorway, embracing the gremlin and causing Killua to shriek.

Kurapika eventually let us pick our rooms after the entire building had been inspected, only after Killua successfully followed me up the stairs in an attempt to get away from the Raccoon pet. Two pairs would have to share rooms since the house had only five rooms, four upstairs and one downstairs. We decided to give the newcomers their own spaces while Leorio and Kurapika, as well as myself and Killua, shared.

"Since I'm the only girl here, I should get the most privacy," Bisky reasoned as she chose the lone room downstairs. As a result, Zushi and Ikalgo had separate rooms next to each other upstairs, whereas the rest of us took the last two rooms. We had no choice but to take the last remaining room as Kurapika and Leorio had already chosen theirs while doing the inspection.
It's not like Killua and I have never shared a room before. It should be like last time. Only now, I've realized my feelings towards him.
Upon entering the room, we noted how uninteresting and plain it was to look at. A queen-sized bed and a white door leading to a small closet were placed against the room's left side wall. A small desk with a lamp on top and papers were strewn across the surface was placed beneath the only window and a standing mirror towards the right side. That was about all there was to it.
"You can get the bed since your leg is pretty messed up, and ill make a bed on the ground. Again." I offered, opening up the closet and finding a few spare blankets as intended. I noticed a few blood stains around the room and a somewhat foul odor. This must have been one of the rooms that had to be cleared of corpses.
He appeared to accept the offer by settling on the neatly made bed and placing his arms behind his head. The bedding had a pretty floral pattern, and the wallpaper was a beige tone resembling a typical bedroom of an elderly woman. Maybe an old couple and their family had been the previous owners of this property.
I winked at Killua and placed a blanket next to the foot of a bed and a pillow on the end before leaving the room entirely. Anyhow, he ought to get some rest. As I strolled by everyone's open rooms, I could hear Kurapika and Leorio conversing, while Zushi and the raccoon were in Ikalgo's room. Considering Killua's developing fear of it, is it truly meant to be upstairs? On second thought, why was the raccoon so unbothered by these unknown people?

I gained the attention of all three as I entered the room and sat on the bed next to them, which was adorned with car prints. "How come it's so calm with you guys?" I questioned, Ikalgo only grinning in reply. "This little one only attacked Killua because she was scared he was a threat. She grew a lot more accustomed to us when we made it clear that we weren't here to harm her." Zushi explained, petting the back of the Raccoons head.
"Here, let her sniff your hand." Ikalgo continued, taking my hand and leading it in the direction of the small raccoon. Gremlin reacted by leaping back and only barely approaching after realizing that my hand was motionless. She soon paid no attention to the hand and curled up close to a pillow, seemingly giving Ikalgo an idea. "What is Killua doing, right now?"
-----------------
Killua was surely asleep once Zushi opened the door, leading Ikalgo into the room with me following closely behind. "I don't know Ikalgo, this isn't a very good idea. What if he wakes up?" I argued anxiously. "It will be fine, it's just a harmless prank." "Did you see what it did to Killua's leg?" We were now silently arguing and it was a miracle how Killua didn't wake up just then. Ikalgo dismissed my arguments and crept up alongside Killua with a sleeping Raccoon in his arms, gently placing it on top of Killua's lower stomach, who instinctively placed a hand on the gremlin's back while silently snoring.
"See, best friends." Ikalgo proudly stated, while I almost melted at the sight. "Alright but I'm staying in here with him to make sure everything goes smoothly when they wake up," I whispered as I sat down close to Killua's sleeping body, right up against the headboard. The two boys chuckled together, softly speaking as they left the room.
How are we going to survive with these children?

A Wheel Inside a Wheel
Two brilliant young me, Reinhard von Musel and Yang Wen-li, are forced to flee the countries of their birth and become refugees on opposite sides of a century long galactic war. While they both struggle to adapt to their new lives, their obvious talent propels them to the forefront of the war. Their choices will shape their adoptive homelands forever, and their clash will decide the future of the galaxy. This story is broken up into volumes, each following one half of the conflict. You can read them in chronological order, or you can follow just Yang or Reinhard. See individual descriptions below. Wanting to escape that indentured servitude, Yang flees his homeland and takes up a false identity in the Galactic Empire, a hyper-stratified society where stepping out of line is punishable with imprisonment or death. Yang enrolls in the Imperial Officers’ Academy to study history, but despite his unusual and unmistakeable talent as both a tactician and a scholar, his classmates resent him for being a visible outsider. When tensions at the school boil over and several of Yang’s classmates attempt to murder him, Yang finds an unlikely ally in the top student in the class: the aloof Oskar von Reuenthal. But Reuenthal and Yang both have secrets, secrets which could destroy both their lives and their newfound friendship.
