《Why Don't You..? (LeoXRaph) (CANCELLED)》Raphael POV

After we both got out of the shower, Leo and I got all of our gear back on and went out to the main room. Mikey was nowhere to be found. Donnie's exhausted voice sounded from his lab again as he woke up early and fell asleep late due to requests.
Leo looked over in the direction and sighed, "Maybe we should help him today...."
"Are you kidding me?" I asked, looking at him. "Just because it's Wednesday doesn't mean we gotta help him every week."
"He needs his rest," Leo countered, giving me a glare. "Besides... He needs to train too. Because I was thinking about going topside tomorrow night."
"I thought you were gonna say tonight," I muttered. "You owe me."
"So now I owe you!?"
I didn't answer. Instead, I stared at Leo as he stared back at me with a bewildered look. I finally looked away and I could see Leo shaking his head in my mind. His footsteps left my side and I sighed, looking back up and around. Glad that nobody heard our fight, I decided to go to the dojo and train.
Mikey was there. He looked half asleep, but was standing up and looking at Splinter. As Sensei noticed me entering, I nodded at him and he to me. Mikey looked over and grinned. I shook my head like nothing had happened recently and stood beside Mikey.
"Glad you are here, Raphael," Splinter said, an ear flicking in interest at my stature. "I was just talking to Michelangelo about your boys jobs..."
"Donnie's the only one that has one," I grumbled.
"Exactly," Sensei said, turning to me. "You and Michelangelo will ask Donnie for some ideas in job finding. One that doesn't reveal yourselves, yet you may make money."

"But Sensei!"
"No!" Splinter hissed out. I stopped and furrowed my eyes ridges together while looking down. "Donatello is tired... One of you may help him in his job, but the other will find their own!"
"What about Leo?" Mikey asked.
"I will speak to Leonardo...."
Mikey smiled beside me and I scoffed, "I came in here to train.... Not talk about things humans should think about twenty-four seven!" Splinter looked at me like he was about to say something, but I had already turned and left. "I'm not a person... I don't need a job... Donnie volunteered for getting a job... The rest of us didn't."
I left the lair and went down the tunnels to try and cool off. My hands were clenched at my sides and I was trying to contain a growl. It came out eventually and it just grew into a roar that echoed throughout the tunnels. Stopping, I noticed I was on the ground on my knees and my knuckles were bleeding from where I punched through the wrappings.
Gritting my teeth, I got back up and ignored the blood. It would dry and I could always speak with Donnie later. I only continued through the tunnels, not going to one particular place at the moment; just knowing I was getting farther from the lair and thinking things through.
Getting a job? Was Sensei crazy? The only thing I'm good at is fighting, but I couldn't train anyone if I tried. They would have me and my brothers exposed and we would soon be locked up in some kind of zoo or exhibit, even experimented on. I held my head as I walked on. So many things...
Finally, I gave up and turned back. My knuckles were beginning to hurt and sting from the mini rock particles lodged in them. As I tried to get the bigger pieces out, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. I wasn't sure what time it was either because I had left my phone in my room, so when I looked up, I wasn't entirely sure where I was. Looking at the tunnel numbers, I tried to find my way back using the number order, but as I continued, the odder and more unfamiliar the numbers looked.

Huffing in anger, I decided to try to go topside because that may help. So when I found a ladder, I climbed up and gently moved the manhole to the side. I peered around and saw it was still dark and that I was lucky I was in an alley way rather than a road. When I got to the pavement, I closed the cover quickly and skirted to the shadows.
Voices were lingering and I knew instantly I was in a busy part of town. I looked around for an escape ladder. There wasn't one in this alley! Which alley doesn't have an escape ladder? But then I found holes in the side of the building where a ladder used to lie upon. Someone removed it, probably construction issues, I assumed. But I had to get up to the top somehow without getting spotted.
I stopped for a second as I heard a loud clinking sound. Curious, yet also wanting to shut whoever was doing it, I decided to investigate. I slipped from shadow to shadow, making sure I hid well. When I got close to the busy section of the alley, I peered around the corner and saw a bundle of rags holding a metal and busted up can while shaking it around. From what I heard, it was change of some sort.
As I continued to watch, I noticed that people walked by and stopped every now and again and offered a few coins. The bundle of rags nodded and continued to clank the change in the can as more people passed.
An idea formed and I grinned. That's what I could do! Rags could hide me and all I had to do was sit down and act hungry or something. I fled back into the alley and slipped back into the sewers to find a better alley that I could go to the roofs and head on home.
It took an hour or so to find the lair again, but when I did, I went straight to Sensei to tell him the good news. I had completely forgotten about Leo's promise, but I didn't care right now. He could do it another night.

Seventeen-year-old Corey Ryder can't remember a time when she wasn't gliding through the air of Cirque Mystique's big top.
