《The Masked Noble |Noblesse various x Reader》Season 1, Chapter 4: Late Nights

The sun shone brightly over the city of Seoul as the five students walked home after school. Ikhan rubbed the back of his neck.
"Ow... My neck still hurts..."
"Tch. You deserved that..." (Y/N) muttered.
"Be grateful with the headlock... "If so, Shinwoo's the Killer"...? What are you? A high school detective..?" (Y/N) hid a smile as she thought of Kudo Shinchi and Hattori Heiji, her two favourite characters from the Japanese manga Detective Conan.
"Still, you could've gone easy on me..." There was silence for a few moments, the Yuna decided to change the subject.
"Thank you all for walking me home..." She smiled.
"Not at all. We live in the same neighbourhood anyways..." Ikhan replied.
"..... Not me.... Or at least right now...." (Y/N) mumbled.
"Huh? What do you mean, (Y/N)?" Shinwoo asked confusedly. "I thought you did..?"
"....... You're a stalker..." The (H/C) girl replied, making Shinwoo pout.
"...... I only wanted to walk with you to school, considering we live so close to each other!" He called out.
"..... Used to....." (Y/N) muttered again.
"H-huh?"
She sighed and repeated the sentence. "You used to live close to me."
"Don't I still?" Shinwoo asked inquisitively.
"Fortunately not. I live with a friend now... until I can find somewhere else that's close." She waved him off.
"Oh." There was an involuntary silence for a few moments again.
"Rai lives with the Chairman, which is close by, right? He can tag along..." Rai nodded his head as a reply to Shinwoo's statement.
".... So you think the man really is the killer...?" Ikhan asked the question which lingered on their minds.
"No way!" Shinwoo waved him off. "I doubt it."
"......." was his reply from (Y/N) and Raizel.
"They let us out early so I guess there may be something not quite right...." Shinwoo continued.
But Ikhan was sceptical. "It's a murder case. Our school isn't like other high schools... And our Chairman isn't ordinary either." (Y/N) suppressed another smile. 'Isn't ordinary' is the correct phrase to use for that... .... Guy....
"I'm sure the Chairman decided to skip afternoon classes for us to go home safe ASAP."
"Well... A murder case is big..." Shinwoo trailed off.
"But if the man from yesterday is the killer..." Yuna trailed off worriedly. There was an uncomfortable silence as Ikhan and Shinwoo gazed at Yuna uncomfortably. "Then the victim would've been..." She didn't complete the sentence.
".... Refrain-" (Y/N) eyes shifted to glance at Shinwoo who frowned at the word. "- from thinking about it. You're going to receive nightmares...."
Ikhan tried to raise Yuna's mood. "Come on, Yuna. Even if he was the murderer, He's still no match for Shinwoo..." He elbowed Shinwoo.
"T-that's right, Yuna. I'll walk you home until they catch the murderer so don't worry about it." Shinwoo smiled.
"......" (Y/N) didn't say a word as she became lost in her own thoughts. .... Should i confront them...? The scarred one though... I feel something familiar from him... His aura or something? I haven't felt it in such a long time... It seems I've been gone too long... I should return back to Lukedonia, even if it's just for a while. She checked the date on her phone. XX-XX-XXXX. It's almost the day of my brother's... no MY death sentence again... She sighed depressingly at the thought, catching the attention of Shinwoo and the others.
"(Y/N)? What's up?"
"Nothing."
"But you looked sad for a moment. Do you want to share?"
"... No." She didn't want to relive the memories of her forced eternal death, which her older twin brother took in her place. It shouldn't have been him. Len.... She thought sadly.
"There it is again!" Shinwoo pointed at her dramatically. (Y/N) pushed the finger down with her forefinger.
"... It's rude to point."
"Tell us..."
"No."
"Please~"
"... No." (Y/N) was starting to receive a headache from annoyance. Shinwoo sent a look to Ikhan and Yuna.
Ikhan pushed up his glasses. "You can deal with it better if you tell us. Don't keep the burden on yourself."
"Yeah, yeah!" Shinwoo agreed to Ikhan's statement.
"Can you please tell us, (Y/N)?" Yuna asked politely. (Y/N) began to walk faster in an attempt to avoid speaking of the subject.
"No."
"Why won't you?" Shinwoo asked, now extremely curious. He kept at her pace, trailing her closely behind. (Y/N)'s gaze hardened.
"Because I said so."
Shinwoo dramatically held his arms in an 'X' shape. "Nope. Not a valid answer."
"... It's also none of your business."
Shinwoo slumped and Ikhan patted him on the shoulder. "I only wanted to help...." A flash of guilt spread through (Y/N)'s eyes, but she grit her teeth and proudly stated, "I will not tell you if I do not wish to do so."
Ikhan, however, was starting to lose his patience with (Y/N). "We only want to help, so please remove your pride and let us help you!"
(Y/N)'s step faltered.
Then she came to a stop. Without turning around, she asked, "Why are you so intent on assisting me with my issues? You'll never understand..." She clenched her fists.
"Because we're your friends, (Y/N)." Yuna replied for Ikhan.
"..... Why do you consider me as a friend? I'll be gone before you know it." Raizel's eyes widened slightly. What in Lukedonia does she mean?
"Because we think you're cool! So please open up to us more?" Shinwoo had recovered.
"......... I won't open up-" (Y/N) began. The three students saddened while Raizel just stared in curiosity. "- and I'm pretty sure you can't help me with this issue...." She paused. "I'll be going to visit family soon, in the next 2 weeks or so." Her answer was vague.
"Can you at least tell us why?"
"............. It's the anniversary of my brother's..." She paused, looking for the correct word. "...death." A tear slipped down her cheek as she spoke.
"What?!"
"We should help her cheer up!" Suddenly (Y/N)'s phone rang, playing Twice's Cheer Up. She groaned, picking up the phone while Shinwoo and Ikhan began laughing in the background.
"Yoboseyo."
"What is it this time?" (Y/N) hissed at the dialer. YongSoo.
"Nothing much! I managed to get through the meeting with my boss thanks to you, DAZE!" (Y/N) growled in annoyance, holding the phone a short distance away from her ear and shocking the students behind her. It was the first time such an emotion had been elicited from her.
"You'd better hope that it's the last time i catch you not doing your work. You owe Kiku."
"Mianhae, 'Noona'-" (Y/N)'s eyebrow twitched. "-it won't happen again, DAZE!" She held the phone away from her ear again.
"..... It'd better not. Or I'll skin you and hang that on my bedroom wall." The students, minus Raizel, shuddered. Just who on Earth was she talking to?

"Ne. It won't, Noona." Her grip tightened on the phone.
"............. How many times have I told you not to call me 'Noona'..? We're the same age, pabo."
"Mianhae...." (Y/N) sighed, knowing she had an audience behind her.
"Can you come and pick me up, or are you busy?"
There was a pause. Then- "Ne. I'll be there in a bit, Daze~" The dialer put down his phone.
"..... We were going to go to the Internet Cafe and teach Yuna and Raizel how to play. Are you sure you don't want to come? We can teach you too~" Shinwoo offered somewhat happily.
"Yes I'm sure. Besides. I already know how to play. See ya online...." She trailed off as a luxurious car pulled up in front of her, tires screeching. Monsta X's Jealousy played loudly from the speakers. The wind blew up Yuna and (Y/N)'s skirts, the both of them pushing it down to prevent the boys from seeing their panties.
Black... Thought Raizel and Shinwoo with heavy red blushes on their faces. But (Y/N) didn't notice.
As she went to open the car door, a voice yelled out, "Noona-umph!" (Y/N) swung her bag, with one hand, in the direction of the voice, successfully shutting him up.
"Noona~" The male whined, rubbing his cheek in pain. (Y/N)'s cheek tingled slightly.
She grabbed his ear and pulled on it. "Ow....! Owowowowowowowowowowowowow...."
"You idiot, YongSoo! What did I tell you about speeding?!" She glanced down at his clothing. "Also, why are you in a traditional Hanbok? It's not even the time for the festival yet!" She released his ear from her grasp.
YongSoo rubbed his ear in pain, while (Y/N) ignored it. "1. You told me not to, daze... 2. It was comfortable, Daze!"
"Yes it may be comfortable, but we don't wear these things anymore! You especially should know this!" (Y/N) sighed, then dragged him, stuffing him into the passenger seat of the car.
"Yah! This is my car. Let me drive..." He whined from his seat.
"No. Last time I let you drive... I can still feel the pain..." She subconsciously rubbed her neck. Then, noticing the students standing outside, she told them tiredly, "Annyeong..... I'll see you later..." She held up a hand in a 'goodbye' motion and drove off.
(Y/N) took note of the two figures some distance away and the thing hidden elsewhere below the city, hoping not to interfere with whatever they did unless they killed someone again.
Shinwoo, Yuna and Ikhan stared with their jaws dropped. "Isn't that...." They began slowly.
".... It can't be..." Ikhan continued.
"But his name is the same!" Shinwoo cried out.
".... So..?" Ikhan questioned.
"But this guy's more immature!" Shinwoo was denying the truth.
"....... He could just be mature on stage and like... like... this in real life..." Ikhan finished.
"That's right..." Yuna agreed with Ikhan, while Raizel had question marks above his head, wondering what on Earth they were talking about.
"You know what? Let's just go to the Internet Cafe now..."
"Yeah..." They continued walking in silence, completely ignoring the prior situation.
-------------------------
"What the... There's not even a single lead...." The two cloaked figures stood on top of one of the tall skyscrapers of the city of Seoul, eyeing the careless and clueless pedestrians below.
"It's not our thing to compete in a delicate pursuit such as this one..." The taller one spoke. "The vampire could eat all the people around the building. We could get a lead like that....."
"It's unnecessary to cause such a scene. We'll get another order soon if we hang out here." The scarred man's eyes widened a fraction, before he smirked in glee. "I... may have found something fun until then..."
"Hm..? What is it..?" The taller man traced his companion's gaze. "That's...."
"Ke ke ke... That uniform looks familiar, right? It's the same uniform with that kid earlier... Perhaps that scumbag hiding out in the drain has given us something fun to play with..."
Beneath the bustling street, however, the thing, otherwise known to the two cloaked figures as a vampire, clenched his head and huffed.
"The light....." He scraped against the wall of the drain. "It hurts... Damn it..." He turned around. Blood covered his pale mouth, dripping onto his shirt, despite his last meal being hours ago. The thing remembered the red-haired student, who'd thrown a trash can at him and growled. It gnashed it's teeth in annoyance.
"I swear I will kill him."
------------------------
(Y/N) stepped out of her shared 'home'. Or at least, attempted to anyway. Too bad she couldn't control the fact that YongSoo was sobbing grossly and clinging onto her ankle begging her not to live somewhere else. She furrowed her eyebrows in annoyance, ignoring the looks she received from pedestrians on the street. Kiku, a Japanese politician and the Personification of Japan, was also present and attempted to pry YongSoo off of her.
"Gomenasai, (Y/N)-san. I can't seem to get him off of you."
".... Mou ii desu, Kiku-kun. It's not your fault anyway..." Kiku flushed bright red.
"K-Kun...?!" He wasn't used to such a suffix.
"..... Gomenasai... I would bow, but right now I have this... this.. headache to deal with..." She replied, gesturing to the sobbing South Korea hanging off her ankles.
"Don't leave, Jagi!" Anime tears flew all over, somehow not hitting either (Y/N) nor Kiku much to their relief.
The looks she received were those of pure understanding. Of what, you're asking? To the public eye, it looked just like (Y/N) had dumped her 'boyfriend' YongSoo.
That'll never happen, Dumbass author! She thought in outrage.
She sighed and pulled away from his grasp. Kiku followed her, holding out her black suitcase.
"I wish you all the best for finding a new apartment.... (Y/N)....-chan.." She smiled and nodded a thanks.
"I apologise for having you deal with... that... Once you get inside..."
"He'll be brooding for a few hours you know, (Y/N)-chan..."
(Y/N) nodded. "Wakarimashita...." She was about to pull away from YongSoo's grasp when she remembered something... important... To her, at least. Ah! Kiku-san... Next time I visit, can I have some sencha?" It was Kiku's turn to nod.
"Hai." There was an awkward silence, if YoongSoo's cries were ignored, that was.
"Ja ne~ Kiku-kun.." She walked off, pulling away from YongSoo's grasp, dragging her suitcase behind her. Kiku held a hand up as a 'goodbye', before widening his eyes in realisation.
"(Y/N)-chan!" He jogged up to her in his yukata, huffing. Typical Japan, (Y/N) thought. "I just need to tell you that the next meeting is soon....."
"Ah... I'm busy right now..."
".... If you don't mind me asking, with what?"
"....... Something...." She paused, eyeing the reaction she gained from Kiku. Worry. "Just don't tell Alfred where I am right now, onegaishimasu...."
"H-Hai! Wakarimashita. Ja ne...." (Y/N) smiled.
"Ja ne, Nihon..." Kiku watched her leave.
-----------------------------------------
Later, once the students had left the Internet cafe at around 4:00 in the afternoon, (Y/N) found herself on the path she'd usually take to arrive at Ye-Ran high School and the Internet cafe the students had previously taken her to when she ran into Shinwoo and the group.
"Wah-ha-hoo~! That was fun! Truly a stress reliever from Ikhan's previous humiliation!" Shinwoo exclaimed.
(Y/N) kept her head down, hoping they wouldn't notice her. Too bad she was dragging around a suitcase and was wearing the school uniform.
"..... (Y/N).....?" She jolted in shock when her name was called.
"Aha! So It really is you!" Shinwoo pointed at her dramatically.
"...... Why now...?" (Y/N) muttered in annoyance, while Shinwoo pouted.
".... Do you really not want to see us, (Y/N)....?" She jumped again.
".... Oh... Hello Shinwoo. I didn't notice you...."
"What?! But You flinched when I called your name! And what's with that dejected 'why now'...?"
".... It's nothing. Don't worry..." .... It's those two again... She sighed in annoyance.
"Sighing too often isn't good for you, (Y/N). It means you're stressed." He pushed his glasses up.
".... I know that." She sighed again.
"Then why are you sighing so often?" This time, (Y/N) didn't answer, but gestured to her suitcase she dragged behind her.
"Oh... You're moving houses...? But surely you have more than that to survive...?" She shook her head, partly not wanting to say anything more than necessary and partly to keep an eye on the two figures standing a little distance away from them.
"Oh... Hey... Doesn't that look like..." Yuna began.
"... Hm.. Those strange men up ahead have a really strange vibe..."
"Hm..." The two men just stood there silently, seemingly waiting for the approaching students. The two tall men eyed the students cautiously without movement. They were waiting for the students to first approach them.
"Yeah.... They do look familiar...." The two figures stiffened. Did he notice us...? "The big guy looks like our Homeroom teacher, doesn't he...?"
However, as the students came closer and closer, the taller figure seemed to notice something strange about Raizel. His red eyes and strange aura seemed to confuse the man. (Y/N) was no different to Raizel. Her currently blue eyes seemed to bore holes right into the man's soul, but her aura was no different from humans.
..... There's... no reaction.... Perhaps I've been spending too much time around humans...? (Y/N) faked dropping her phone and requiring to tie her shoelaces right in front of the two men. "... You guys go ahead... I'll catch up..."
The two figures eyed her in interest.
Standing up, she slipped her phone into her pocket and made a show of putting her hair up in a ponytail. The (H/C) figure picked up her suitcase and walked slowly passed them, mumbling, "You ought not to be wearing such dark clothing and walking in pairs like that... People might think.... You're up to something..." There was a pause.
Then the young woman blinked. She clasped a hand over her already-covered mouth. "Ah! What am I saying?! I've been watching too many Harry Potter movies lately." She sighed and placed a palm on her head, then bowed to the two strangers. "I'm sorry. I have a tendency to ramble occasionally..."
Smirkingly, she walked off as the two tall men glanced at each other.
"..... That girl... That was no slip of the tongue..."
"She certainly knows what she's saying..."
"...... Kekekekekekeke...." The scarred man laughed then he quietened, remembering the look, and colour, of her eyes. "She's stunning."
"... You can only see her eyes..."
"They're stunning..." He muttered in awe. Things had just gotten even more interesting....
There was silence for a few moments, then- "Come to think of it, where's that scumbag...?"
".... In the drainage pipes..."
"Why isn't he out here..?"
"Dunno..." There was a pregnant pause as the taller man mind spoke to the thing.
"......." was his only reply. Then the pair looked up the sky.
"Right. It's still daylight..."
"Ah.... Nice weather." The situation had become awkward.
