Werewolf.
Were wolf.

Human shapeshifter.
Wolf.
Human.
Human Wolf.
Wolf Human.
WEREWOLF!
"So let's get this straight yeah? You can turn into a wolf by..."
"We call to our wolf, and they take over. Sometimes extreme emotions can also cause one to change, sometimes anger other times happiness or even lust." Jonathan explained.
"Ok, so you guys have this wolf inside of you right now. Like this very minute as I speak to you, your wolf is inside you, listening to me" I clarified for the nth time in the last hour.
"Yes, he's been in me listening to you repeat the same thing over the past hour and is dying of boredom on the inside" he repeated. I ignored his fact, trying so hard to process this. Werewolf. Twighlight, Jacob, Edward.... Supernatural.
"Alright, so you can speak to this wolf inside of you. So if you say hey wolf on the inside then they reply hey bud?" Jonathan sent me a half glare, taking a deep breath before nodding his head.
"Indeed Luna" I bobbled my head.
"Why do you keep calling me Luna?"
"Because you are Ryan's mate, and he's the Alpha, so you become my Luna. It's the term given to the Alpha female" he once again reminded me.
"What if I decide to reject Ryan in the end?" I questioned, finally a question I hadn't asked him before.
"Well, then you're very unlikely to survive on this earth that long"
"What's that supposed to mean?!" I snapped.
"Well, he's your soul-mate. He completes you, without your other half, how are you supposed to survive? You will always feel this bond with him, and you'll suffer until you finally complete the bond with him by completing the mating process" he explained, gaining my attention.
"Mating process? What mating process?"
"Well the first stage of the mating process is marking, which means the Alpha will imprint a mark on your neck by biting you which basically shows his claim over you, letting everyone know that you're his mate, his Luna. The next stage is well, basically love making, that way you will be connected by soul, mind and body, and you'll be able to communicate with him and the rest of the pack through the mind-link" I stopped, suddenly bursting into a fit of laughter.

"Mind-link? What kind of bullshit are you feeding me here Jonathan? Mind-link? This is absolutely bollucks!" when Jonathan didn't reply me, I knew it was all true. "So let's get this straight yeah? This mark, its basically a hickey of some sorts yeah?"
"Well, it's more than a hickey, it's more like a tattoo. Your mate's initials are imprinted into the bite"
"How can initials let everyone know who my mate is. I bet there are tones of people who have the same initials on this planet."
"Your scent changes too. Once you have marked and mated, your scent gets mixed with that of your mates, and a scent cannot be duplicated" I buried my head into my hands, completely and utterly fuzzed about what to do.
"I don't have a way out of this do I?"
"It's not an obligation Luna-"
"Firstly, please stop calling me that. Secondly, it very well may be an obligation if you claim that I won't be able to live properly without this so called bond. I don't get it, if I am supposed to be so deeply connected to your Alpha, then why the hell do I not feel any bond with him right now?" Jonathan chuckled, shaking his head slightly.
"That's where you're wrong Lu- Elisabeth. You do feel the bond with him, you're simply unaware of it at the very moment"
"That's absolute bollucks Jonathan. You know very well what I feel towards that man" I clarified, replying quickly.
"Oh yeah? Then why have you called me here?"
"Because I needed answers and I don't like your boss so I called you here." Smartly, I answered.
"No, you called me here because you were uncomfortable asking Alpha to come down here."
"Yeah, exactly. I don't like him, that's why I called you here" He chuckled again, raising my level of frustration, what was so funny anyways?
"When someone feels uncomfortable around another person that means you're attracted to them. Whether you like it or not Luna, you are attracted towards Ryan. It won't be long before you do accept him fully" His statement had me bubbling up again, and within the next minute, I was rolling around laughing like a complete idiot.

"Nice joke Jonathan. Let's move on now shall we, let's talk about this pack. So Ryan is the Alpha of the pack, is it by blood or do you guys have a democracy or something?" I asked, returning to my original position.
"Well, Ryan was born into an Alpha family and he has Alpha blood running through his veins. Even if we tried to have a democracy, it wouldn't work, Alpha genes are the strongest, and only they are capable of ruling a pack. Ryan was born into one of the strongest Alpha families of America, and he has brought up this pack and trained it well enough to survive attacks from Rogues."
"Right, rogues. What are rogues again?"
"They are wolves that have been kicked out of or left a pack. Most rogues are dangerous since by living alone and not following any rules their wolf becomes more dominant and therefore they become...well, killers. No Rogues or any packs are allowed to cross the territory of another pack without permission" I closed my eyes, trying to process his words.
It was as if the world had suddenly changed and we now had to apply the rules used in fairytales to our real lives.
In other words, it was completely fucked up.
"So, if I become the Luna, then what happens? I quit my job and become a housewife?"
"No, absolutely not. You keep your job, but at the same time you help out with the pack. As and Alpha, Ryan does his duties for the pack, he maintains the pack. Your job will simply be to support him and the pack. If any kid from the pack is having trouble with bullying or some old member is having trouble carrying groceries, just give them a hand, that sort of stuff." I nodded, sinking the information.
There was only one problem, it was a job that described everything I was not capable of doing.
I was a cop. Strapping a badge and gun to my hip and kicking people's ass was about the only thing I was capable of doing. Emotions, love and shit was not my thing. How the hell was I supposed to be a Luna? Why would the Moon Goddess pick me in the first place? It's like picking a prostitute to become a nun.
"You're the Beta, the second in command. What do you do?"
"Well, I'm the second in command, I help the Alpha maintain and run the pack. I'm a vice president if you will. And when I find my mate and Beta Female, she will work alongside you, helping the pack with their needs. If you and the Alpha are not present in the pack at some point, me and my mate will take over."
"So you haven't found your mate huh?" I asked after a few minutes of silence. His expression dropped as he shook his head lightly. "How do you know someone is your mate?" At this, his smile returned.
"Two mate's souls are bonded together. So when a werewolf meets his mate, his wolf knows instantly. It's almost as if the wolf can see this invisible string that connects the two hearts of the mate's, and the wolf calls to it's host, and that's how we know. After that it's all sparks and fairytales" I nodded, not understanding a word.
"How romantic" I managed to comment despite everything. He laughed, facing me once again.
"One day you will understand Luna, one day"
