"No!" I yelled out in shock after dropping my freshly made pancake on to the floor.
I scowled glumly while picking the now dirty pancake off the ground with two fingers.
"What a waste." I muttered to myself as I tossed it into the trash bin.
"What's with all the commotion?" Jaebum asked while walking into the kitchen looking slightly annoyed.
"I'm making breakfast." I answered truthfully.
"You want some?" I asked, turning back around to face him while holding the plate of pancakes in my hand.
He just nodded sleepy, walking up to me and grabbing one with his hand.
I just watched as he slowly took a bite of it and a joyous expression displayed out onto his face.
"You like it?" I asked, noticing he had taken a few more from the plate.
"You should cook more often." He said while stuffing his face, and I took that as a yes.
I smile, pleased with his answer and turned back around to flip the pancake over that was already in the pan.
Jaebum sat at the kitchen island to eat. I began to hum quietly as a finished off the last of the pancake batter. For whatever reason, I was in a really good mood this morning which rarely ever happens seeing as I hate mornings.
I waited for a few minutes before turning the stove off and scooping the pancake up with the spatula. I placed it on his plate and proceeded to wash the pan in the sink.
"You seem cheery today." Jaebum says as he noticed my smile hasn't yet faded at all.
"Really?" I questioned while putting the pan up after drying it off.
"I'm guessing it has something to do with the carnival last night?" He asks already knowing the answer.
"What makes you think that?" I quickly stopped what I was doing to stare at him and he just chuckles, taking another bite of his food.
"I can just tell." He says as a smirk began to stretch his lips. "Yugyeom was also acting surprisingly happy during our phone call, but he wouldn't tell me why."
"I'm suspecting you already know why." I assumed while grabbing my phone from the table, getting ready to head to school.
"Yep." He just nodded, looking innocent.
"Right, anyways, I better get going." I grabbed my bag and rushed out the door.
You were not ready to explain to Jaebeom how you reluctantly agreed to go out on a date with Yugyeom. It's already awkward enough as it is.

As I walked into the school hallways to find my locker, some of the students began whispering and giggling to each other.
Once I reached my locker, I try to listen in on some of the conversations, so I could figure out what was going on.
"Did you hear the news?"
I look to my right and notice Soyeon and Soojin together. Jennie and Jisoo told me that they're like those mean girls you see on tv and like to start rumors about people. But Jennie also said Soojin only does it, because Soyeon makes her.
I decide to listen in on their conversation, since I've never spoken to them before.
"No, what is it?" Soojin asks.
"Apparently, y/n and Yugyeom are officially dating now. Surprising, right?" Soyeon informs with a slight smirk rising in the corner of her lips.
Um, what? Dating? Hell no.
"Wait, really? I thought Yugyeom rejected everyone?"
"Yeah, but this time it was Yugyeom who confessed to Y/n."
I continue to listen in, trying my best not to react as they talk about me.
"Another student caught them on the Ferris Wheel together after everyone had left." Soyeon adds.
"..but I thought y/n liked Mark this whole time." Soojin states and my eyes widen.
How the hell do they know all of this stuff?
"She could've just started dating Yugyeom to get close to Mark.." Soyeon suggests, "..or she could just be playing them both for her entertainment."
Soyeon held a disgusted look on her face, but Soojin furrows her brows as she shakes her head in disagreement.
"I don't think y/n is the type of person to do tha—"
I clench my jaw out of irritation, slamming my locker shut which interrupts Soojin's sentence.
I walk up to them with a look of annoyance on my features.
"Oh hey, Y/n, we didn't see you there." Soyeon fake smiles like she wasn't just talking bad about me.
"If you're going to be talking nonsense why don't you say it to my face." I glared at her and she just crossed her arms arrogantly.
"Okay then, I think you're only dating Yugyeom just to get closer to Mark." She raises a brow, giving me a bitchy smile.
"Soyeon!" Soojin exclaims in disbelief.
"Maybe, you should mind your own business and stop assuming things you know nothing about." I state in a stern voice. "Yugyeom and I aren't even dating, by the way."
"..and if I don't? What are you gonna do? Go cry to your mommy?" Soyeon laughs lightly, looking me up and down.
"No, but—" I was cut off by Mark showing up out of nowhere.
He narrowed his eyes in front of the two gurls while standing in front of me protectively.
"Look, it's Y/n's night in shining armor." Soyeon laughs. "Let's go Soojin."
Soyeon rolls her eyes while walking away.
"I'm sorry about her.." Soojin apologizes before following after Soyeon.
"Are you okay?" Mark asks, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"I didn't need your help." I voiced, shrugging his hand off as I glance up at him.
"..did I do something wrong..?" He questions, appearing to be hurt by my reaction.
"No, I'm sorry, it's just me." I sigh, feeling bad for giving him the cold shoulder.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"No, I'll be fine." I shake my head, giving him a gentle smile, "Thank you for helping me..even thought I didn't need it."
"Anytime." He returns the smile.
"Walk me to class?" I ask and he just nods, following me silently.
Soon enough, my first couple of classes were over and I was now wondering the halls looking for Yugyeom.
I wanted to give him his jacket back, since he gave it to me to wear home as it was cold on Friday. I forgot to give it back to him.
Suddenly, I ran into Jisoo and Jennie who are heading to the gym to practice for cheerleading next year.
"Do you guys happen to know where Yugyeom is?" I question.
"I think he's in the gym right now." Jisoo replies with a smile.
"Great, I'll come with." I state, linking my arms with both Jisoo's and Jennie's as I begin walking with them.
As we reach the gym, I spotted Yugyeom sitting beside Mark on the bleachers while having a conversation.Momo is with Bambam as usual and Jackson is third wheeling them, again.
To be honest, I didn't expect Bambam and Momo to last as long as they have. Since, she used to like Yugyeom and all, but it's none of my business, so I could care less.
I eventually walk up to them once Jennie and Jisoo headed to the locker room to change. I stand in front of Yugyeom, waiting for him to acknowledge my existence.
He slowly looks up at me, expecting it to be some annoying student until he saw my face.
I hold his jacket in his face, waiting for him to take it, but he never did, "Here."
He stands to his feet silently and removes the jacket from my hands. Instead of keeping it, he wraps it around my shoulders.
"What're you doing?" I ask, grabbing the ends of the jacket to prevent it from falling off.
"It's cold in here."
"I don't want to wear your jacket and it's not even that cold." I roll my eyes.
"Is it wrong to show my affection to my beloved date?" He asks innocently, but it still manages to come out in a perverted way.
"Don't say it like that, it's weird." I cringe, raising my upper lip in disgust as I try not to smile at his teasing.
"That's the point." He grins, pulling me to sit down next to him.
I glance down as he casually slides his arm around my waist. It kinda made my nervous, it's been a while since I've had this much skin-ship with someone.
I notice he starts to smile as I began playing with the fingers on his other hand out of nervousness. It was just one of my many habits he caught on to. Whenever I feel on edge or anxious, I always fidget with either my fingers or someone else's.
"Y/n, have you heard about the party Bam's throwing tonight?" Momo questions in a chipper voice.
"Another one?" I laugh lightly.
"Hell yeah, and this time we won't get busted." Bambam cheers.
"What's the occasion?"
"It's my birthday." Jackson states happily and I could tell he was extremely excited.
"Really? Happy birthday." I congratulate him.
"Thanks, I'm really hyped since it's my twenty–"
"Jackson!" Yugyeom interrupts sternly, giving Jackson a death glare.
"I mean my—eighteenth birthday." Jackson corrects himself, chuckling nervously.
I furrow my brows at what just happened. I clearly heard Jackson say it's his twenty-somethingth birthday, I'm not stupid. But if he's in his twenties, why the hell is he in high-school?
And why is he being forced to lie about his age? That means if Jackson is actually lying, maybe, he's not the only one. Especially, since Yugyeom's the one who caught his slip-up.
I turn to look at Mark and he appears to be pissed at Yugyeom. He looks as if he was ready to stand up and throw a punch at Yugyeom any minute now.
Something is going on with all of them and I'm going to get to the bottom of it. No matter how long it takes.
• II •
I was just finishing up on my outfit for the party by putting my earrings in my ear, when Jaebum knocked on my open door. I looked in the mirror staring at my outfit, before turning to face him. He was leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed. He rose an eyebrow and proceeded to give me a smug grin.
"How do I look?" I question giving him a full 360 spin.
He pushed himself off of the door frame and walked up to me.
"You look good, but I think it's missing something." He said and I gave him a look of confusion like I didn't understand.
"What?"
"This." He said and pulled a little black box out of his back pocket.
It had a red bow tied around it and it seemed fairly new.
"What is that?" I question with surprise and he proceeded to open the box.
"A necklace." He answered while taking it out of the box and places the box on my night stand.
"Shall I do the honors?" He asks and I nod, giving him my permission.
I turned around, moving my hair out of the way. He wrapped the silver necklace around my neck and hooked it together gently. I turned back around to look in the mirror and I was in awe as soon as I set my eyes on it.
"It's beautiful, but why did you get it?" I questioned while still looking in the mirror.
"It was meant for your birthday, but you never gave me a chance to give it to you. Now seemed like a perfect time for you to receive it." Jaebum explained calmly with a light smile.
I turned around to face him and I gave him a gentle hug as appreciation, "Thank you, honestly."
I very grateful towards him, he's been helping me a lot lately. Jaebum broke the hug and gave me a warm smile.
"Don't you have a party to get to?" He questioned me, but also reminding me.
"Right, I almost forgot. You promise not to bust Bambam's party this time?" I asked, teasing him a little and he just lets out a light laugh.
"I promise, now go, you don't want to be late." He said, slightly pushing me out my door to get me going.
"I'll see you later." I smiled before heading out.
"Be back by twelve!"
• III •
I safely made my way to the party and I see many people have made their selves welcome already. I make my way through Bambam's house, knowing I won't get lost this time as I've been here many times before.
I ended up running into Bambam who was just heading to the pool table where they were doing body shots, but I wasn't judging him.
"Where are the drinks!" I shouted to him over the loud music.
"The kitchen!" He shouts back and I nodded as a thanks and he continued to make his way to the pool table.
I headed to the kitchen where it was much quieter and I spotted Momo sitting on the counter with a drink in her hand. She looked a bit upset, but I had no clue why, she looked fine this morning.
"Hey, are you okay?" I question Momo softly and she looked surprised to see me standing there.
Her expression changed into a more happy one, but it all just seemed like a facade. I grab one of the red cups stacked on the counter and filled it with ice from the fridge.
"I'm fine." She smiled, trying to make it seem as if she was okay, but I knew she wasn't.
"Come on, you can tell me. What's really wrong?" I ask, leaning against the counter while munching on the cold ice.
Momo looked down at her red cup full of alcohol before speaking.
"Are you really dating Yugyeom?" She asks me hesitantly and I gave her a confused look.
Those stupid rumors.
"No, of course not." You shake your head. "Why? Do you..happen to still like him?"
I noticed the little hints here and there whenever Momo is near Yugyeom. She always listens to him with her full attention and she's always in awe every time he is around. Sometimes I feel she doesn't even like Bambam.
"No! No, not anymore!" She said in shock that I even asked her that question, "I'm with Bambam, remember?"
She scoffs, looking more offended and I quickly felt apologetic for even asking her that.
She hopped off the counter taking a bottle of vodka with her and began drinking it as she left the kitchen.
"Well, that didn't turn out well." I mumbled to myself.
"There you are.."
I heard a voice say and I look up only to see Yugyeom walking into the kitchen. He walks up to me, placing his hands on the counter behind me.
"Why are you in here alone?" He questions, knowing I don't usually like to stay where the people aren't.
"The drinks." I state, shaking my cup in front of his face.
"That's just ice." He squints his eyes at me, playfully.
"Oh, well..same difference." I shrug.
"Sure." He laughs.
"Are you ready for our date tomorrow night?" He quirks a brow, flirtatiously.
"Maybe.." The corner of my lips turn upwards a bit. "It better not be one of those fancy restaurant dates, though. I wanna actually do something fun."
"Oh, of course not. I have something way better in mind, something I know you'll like." He grins.
"You're actually making me excited for this." I state quite surprised.
"Good." He says, smugly. "Now that you have your ice, wanna play beer pong?"
"Yep." I smile.
He grabs my hand and pulled me out into the crowd of dancing people. Yugyeom drags me to the pool table where Momo and Mark stood.
"Me and Yugyeom, against you and Mark?" Momo suggests as we reached the table.
"Sure." You shrug.
"Yeah, that's fine." Yugyeom states.
"Good luck." Momo whispers to me, but it sounded like a warning of some kind.
Little did anyone know she slipped a little sleeping pill into two of the cups on Mark and I's side of the table.
Mark gave me a small encouraging smile before the game began.
Once we started I bounced the ball into the other cup, which resulted in Yugyeom drinking what was in it. I gave him a cocky smirk as he drank the beer. He threw me a competitive grin before grabbing the ball.
As the game went on Mark and I ended up winning, but we still drank the beer in all of our cups after Bambam told us not to waste any of it.
Jackson finally arrived to his own birthday party very late and everyone cheered for him, knowing this party was for him.
"Jackson come get a drink!" I holler, feeling as if the alcohol was already attacking my braincells.
He walked over to us and gave Yugyeom a bro hug, greeting each other.
"Happy birthday, Jackson." Yugyeom said almost slurring his words, he was a little too drunk at the moment.
Jackson smiled at Mark and I as Bambam gave him a half empty bottle of rum waiting for him to drink.
Jackson took a drink, knowing it would sting going down his throat and everyone began chanting.
"
Jackson finished off the bottle, setting it down on the pool table.
"Let's get this party started!" He shouts and everybody cheered as the music was turned up.
"Jackson come dance with me!" I shout not as drunk as the others.
Bambam bought too many drinks, knowing it would make everyone crazy tonight. The crowd began dancing as the music was pumping loudly.
All I remember was dancing with Jackson before I started getting dizzier and dizzier and then everything went dark.
Before I knew it I woke up in a bed with just my undergarments on. I looked around as I saw the sun shining through the curtains, knowing I have school that I need to attend. I looked over beside me to see a half-naked Mark, sleeping peacefully.
I quickly sat up in shock, as I had to keep my scream in. I was panicking internally. I couldn't remember anything from after the party. I knew I was still in Bambam's house, because I remember this being one of the guest rooms no one stayed in.
I pulled the sheets over my chest to cover myself up. I was breathing heavily in fear of what I might have done.
"Fuck no!"

Legendary Farmer (available on Kindle July 2022!)
NOTE: Legendary Farmer is now COMPLETE. The first book, Clearing, was released on Kindle Unlimited July 5, 2022 with significant edits. I will post the first chapter of Clearing, as well as three chapters of Cuckoo's Dream, another novel in the LF universe, as a stub, with a link to the first book, so if you love LF and want me to be able to keep writing consistently, please go give Clearing five stars! In the VRMMORPG, Veritas Online, things are getting a little stale. Since the game launched, only one world- wide event has occurred, and that was a year ago.. The players are still having fun, but everyone agrees it’s about time for something big to happen. Everybody tends to forget that big things grow from small things, and little things are always changing in Veritas. The human country of Quarternell is at peace for the first time in... ever. Aspen, a former war hero, feels like he’s earned a quiet life together with his animal companions. They’re tired of fighting, and other people in general. They plan to live peacefully, far away from the city. As soon as Aspen figures out this farming thing out, he’s never going to go anywhere again. Unfortunately for Aspen, his country and his goddess aren’t quite done with him yet.Rouge the Rogue is a casual gamer in Veritas Online. She’s just a kid, and her focus is supposed to be on school and hanging out with friends. Emphasis on ‘supposed to’. She’s already pretty good at the school thing, and she doesn’t actually have that many friends. What she really loves is exploring all the cool ways the developers of Veritas found to make their game unique and realistic. Then she’s offered a very special quest, and an opportunity to go beyond the average player. She’s never been that much of a rule follower anyway....Clearing is appropriate for most ages. It has minimal foul language, no sex, and some violence. It is LGBTQ+ friendly. (P.S. IMPORTANT! This book contains very mild profanity, no sex, and is meant to be FUN. Yes, the characters sometimes think Deep Thoughts, and idealism pretty much runs rampant, but, in the end, I hope you just enjoy reading it. Laugh, cry, share it with your kids, read it to your dog, whatever makes you happy. My goal is for it to be accessible to everyone from ages 12ish on up, so you could definitely consider it YA, but with lots of big words because I don't believe in talking down to my readers.) Book Two: Harrowing (Starts after the original Chapter Fifty, now Sixteen, since I condensed chapters from the same perspective together.) Zoey has started her summer internship at Veritas Corporation, and she can honestly say that being an adult is boring. Until she starts learning secrets she was never supposed to know. In game, Rouge is finally making progress on her big quest. Apparently Duke Penbrooke took too long to return to the world, so the world is coming to get him... in the form of a few assassins. Aspen is going to have to face the life he left behind, and deal with the fact that it's not as easy being 'dead' as he thought. When what he'd hoped would be a short trip back to civilization to resupply turns into a whole lot more, he'll have to fight for his life, his friends, and his kingdom. Book Three: Sowing Rouge and Aspen have reached Bright, only to find that their enemies were already expecting them. They will have to quickly unravel the mysteries of who their opponents actually are, because they're already ten steps behind. Rouge and Aspen are finally home, but that doesn't mean they can return to their peaceful days of farming. Their enemies are hot on their heels and determined to destroy everything they've managed to achieve. Join them and all their friends for the final volume of Legendary Farmer.
