The thumping won't stop. Neither does the wheezing door bell. Your senses are slowly awakening, as you squit your tired eyes open you realise what the noise is.
Why can't Sunghyung answer the door? Your first thought that morning. Then you remember the night before and how mad your best friend had been for reasons you couldn't quite understand.
Sitting up, you listen to the impatient thumping for a second longer before deciding to walking towards the noise that woke you up.
What is wrong with this person? Is the world ending?
Wrapping you hand around the handle of the door you open it cautiously. When your half open eyes take in the individual before you the fly open. Your mind yet again at a loss..
Your confused state gives Jungkook the opportunity to push the door enough to walk in confidently as if it were his own house.
"What took you so long? I thought you were dead." He says, finally having turned around to face you.
You tilt your head and blink at him, "What.."
You seem his cheeks turn a bright shade of red, as he looks away from you. You wonder what caused his sudden shyness, just as a breeze from the open door brushes against your naked thighs. You had on only a loose white t-shirt and underwear. Embarrassed, you tug at the hem of the t-shirt to pull in low with next to no success.
"Um.." Jungkook seems to have found his voice. "Come on, get dressed. We'll get late."
"We don't have anything today. It's an off day, remember?" Your smart tone only makes him smile.
"This is not work. Now hurry up! Go get ready."
"No, I will not! Not until you tell me what on earth is going on!" You fold your arms across your chest and see him trying to hide a smile.
He walks up to you and grabs hold of your wrist dragging you along the hallway as if it was his own house. You cease your futile efforts to escape his strong grip when he pushes you into your own room and closes the door.
"I'll open the door when you're ready." He announces from the other side of the door.
"You can't lock me in my own house!" Rage pulses through your veins as you push against the closed door with your shoulder. Twisting the doorknob violently doesn't yield anything either.
"Hate to break it to you, but I just did." You can picture the smug look on his face. Kicking the door in frustration you feel pain shoot up your leg. You don't even bother speaking softly as the curse words leave your lips.

"What colourful vocabulary.. it truly does paint a lovely picture."
"At least tell me where we are going so that I can dress appropriately." You say, hoping to trick the answer out of him.
"Who are you kidding? You dress the same every day." His matter-of-fact tone does nothing to dispel your annoyance.
Giving up you decide to take a shower and get dressed, as you don't for even a minute believe that Jungkook will hesitate to have you on lockdown for the rest of the day. You pick up your towel that had been discarded on the floor and walk towards the washroom.
"Y/N?" You stop in place at his voice calling out for you.
"What now? You want me to cook you a meal too?"
"I just wanted to remind you to put on some pants... and maybe even a bra. Then again I don't mind either way." You feel your whole face immediately heat up as if ignite when you hear the teasing laughter in his voice. Protectively wrapping your arms around yourself you glare at the closed door.
He's really enjoying this.
You wrap your wet hair in a towel and try the door, to your surprise it opens right away and the guard you'd been expecting stationed out is nowhere to be seen. Cautiously stepping out of your room you look around for him half expecting him to jump out at you.
Your stomach grumbles embarrassingly loud as your nose picks up the sweet smell in the air. As if drawn by the smell you glide towards the kitchen.
It's like deja vu seeing Jungkook in the kitchen, an apron tightly wrapped around his thin waist as he masterfully tosses the food that sizzles in the pan. You lean against the door frames hands crossed and drink the view before you. Nibbling on his bottom lip in concentration he carefully cuts the sausages into smaller pieces, making sure each piece is identical. Unknowingly, your lips tug upwards into a fond smile.
"You know if you take a picture it'll last longer, right?" Jungkook says without lifting his head to look up at you, but you see him smiling.
How did he know I was here?
Straightening up you attempt to get closer to see what he's cooking. However, as he sees you approaching he grabs you by the shoulders turning you around towards the dining table. "Uh-uh, you're not allowed here, go sit down. I'm almost done."

"Seriously Jungkook, you first barge into the apartment I LIVE in, lock me in my room and then order me around." You don't know why but you listen to him, maybe you've finally acknowledged the fact that even though you're stubborn Jungkook is a level above you and fighting him is like pouring water down a duck's back.
"Here you go! Eggs Benedict with sausages." Jungkook places a plate in front of you and you stare in bewilderment as the steam twists in graceful patterns before your eyes.
When your eyes fall on the sausages you almost burst out laughing. "Was it absolutely necessary to carve designs into these?"
"It's called presentation." Jungkook looks at you proudly.
After having finally giving into Sunghyung's claims that you can't cook to save your life, you had woken up to a delicious plate of breakfast prepared by your best friend every morning since moving in. Frankly, now that you're thinking about it he's been spoiling you. You were so grateful that Jungkook had made you yet another amazing meal because if not for that you'd have to starve. You cut into the poached egg as the golden liquid oozes out to cover the English muffin underneath. "Thank you so much, I thought I would have to starve since Sunghyun had to leave early."
"I know."
You stop chewing to shot him a look of suspicion and watch as he grows uncomfortable under your intense glare. He rubs his palm over his thighs nervously avoiding your eyes and instead of looking down at his plate of food.
"What?" He asks trying to sound calm.
It hits you then.. your eyes widening in realisation.
This sly rascal.
He must've got the office to call Sunghyun to come in early. It all makes sense why he walked in so confidently knowing there was nothing in his way. Which makes you wonder why he'd go to such extreme lengths, he could've asked you to come to BigHit if it was so urgent unless...
"Will you at least now tell me where we are going?"
He smiles at you and shakes his head no. The grip on your fork gets tighter as impatience begins to bubble in you. You hate being kept in the dark.
"You really shouldn't be playing around, after all, I'm the one holding the fork." You try threatening as a last resort but that gets you nowhere.
A few minutes later you stare down pouting at your empty plate, a little disappointment creeping in. You set your utensils down just as Jungkook pushes some Eggs Benedict from his plate onto yours. "I'm full anyway. I almost forgot how much you eat." He jokes before leaving to wash his dish.
Jungkook's driving on the highway now. You hadn't realised when you had left behind the roads of Seoul that were choked with traffic and got onto the highway. You had asked him a hundred time where you were going but every time he'd pretend like he hadn't heard you. The mischievous smile that played on his lips made you a little nervous. You had stared out trying to catch any board or sign signalling your whereabouts but had given up as the surrounding began to blend into a grey blurry mess. You felt as if he was driving fast for just that reason.
Even though you ought to be a little worried there was something about being alone with Jungkook that put you to ease. That sudden realisation shocked you. You turned your head to look at Jungkook then, and the fact that the sight of him no longer made your blood to boil said a lot.
Sinking deeper into the seat you felt your eyelids begin to shut. You tried to concentrate on the soft music playing in the car as you fell asleep.
"Y/N?" A soft voice calls out.
You stir in your sleep refusing to wake up.
"Y/N?" the voice calls out again. This time you open your eyes a fraction, on seeing the dark star-studded sky you sit up straight with a start.
"Is it night already?" You asked trying to shake off the grogginess.
"I'm sorry I didn't want to wake you up but I'll need your help navigating the way here on." You blink at him a few times unable to believe your ears. Did he just apologise to you?
He raises an eyebrow questionably causing you to redirect your attention towards the road before you. Your breath gets caught in your throat as you take in your surrounding. Tears sting the back of your eyes forcing their way out.
