Jungkook's finger presses down on the 'next' button of the remote causing the TV channels to change from one to the other on a continuous loop. His mouth stretches open in a lazy yawn as he watches the TV screen with a blank mind. He had stopped paying attention to what the device before him had to offer in the name of entertainment a while ago. Finally giving up, he switches off the idiot box and tosses aside the remote, having done so he leans back and closes his eyes.
The silence is deafening.
The apartment is empty, except for his haunting presence, with all the other members having left for their vacation, eager to reunite with their loving families. Jungkook, on the other hand, didn't want to leave Seoul. Some part of him was still waiting for you to return and he didn't want to be away when you finally did come back. If you ever would come back.
He drags his feet to the kitchen and opens the fridge, adjusting his eyes to the sudden brightness he feels the cold air cling to his body. But he isn't hungry. Shutting the fridge with a light nudge he walks back into his room and throws his body onto his bed. His eyes travel to the desk in the far corner of the room without him knowing. There sits an umbrella of the brightest shade of yellow, one he's guarded with his life for the past few months. Reluctantly his thought make their way to you. He first sees your smiling face, the way your eyes crinkle and the slightest indentation appears on your left cheek. Then he sees your eyes brimming with tears as he demands for you to get away from him-
He blinks fast trying to push aside the haze clouding his thoughts and as things get clearer he notices his phone ringing. Stretching his arm out he grabs the phone that vibrates against the surface of the night stand, almost at the verge of falling over to its demise.
"Hyung, I told you I'm not going to Busan." Jungkook says holding the phone to his ear. Everyone had tried endlessly to convince him to go back to Busan to his family. It would be good for you, they'd said. But the youngest was adamant.
"J-Jungkook?"
"Jimin Hyung? Are you alright?" The younger man straightens up having heard the panic in his hyung's voice.
"Jungkook, you need to listen to me carefully, okay?" Jimin's voice is extremely breathy as if he'd be running at full speedy.

"Hyung! What's going on? Are you hurt?" His voice begins to mirror the same level of panic he hears on the other end.
"Jungkook, l-listen to m-me!" When there is no protest or interruption Jimin takes that as a sign of cooperation and continues. "I'm in big trouble and you're the only one that can help me. Will you help me?"
"Of course, tell me! What do I have to do?"
"In my room there's a brown p-paper bag. You'll find it easily, it's just on my desk. I need you to bring it to me, it's very important. Got it?" The unsteady low voice that these words are spoken with only cause Jungkook's worry to mount. "I'll send you the address."
"Yes, I'll bring it over but-" With an unexpectedly disappointing beep the call ends. "Hyung? Hello?" Jungkook calls out in vain.
"Can I have one more, please?" You hold out your empty plate to your best friend who wipes her brow and gulps at your request. She takes your plate with a reluctant smile and stares at the empty space with wonder.
"Something good has happened." You frown in confusion at her statement which doesn't sound like a question even though it should.
"What makes you think that?"
"You're suddenly eating normally again. I mean normally for yourself not other living beings. Who even eats this many pancakes in one sitting?" Miri says pushing the plate, now carrying two more pancakes, your way.
"Hmm.. I do feel better." Your mind wonders back to the previous night. You had spent 3 mouth blaming yourself for treating Jimin dishonestly. The conversation you had with Jimin was difficult and hurtful, some part of you knows that you would've run away again if you had the chance, but it was important for both of you. Jimin's lack of reaction bothered you deeply but you hoped with all of your heart that he really did take it as well as he'd seemed.
"That's great!" You smile at your best friend's enthusiasm. Miri was a great friend, she never pushed you to tell her things you weren't comfortable talking about. Maybe that's why it was so easy to talk to her. She reminded you of Jimin, actually. They were both selfless, loving and the most genuine of people you'd ever met. They'd be perfect for each other, you think randomly. But that would be a ridiculous idea... right?

"Eat up now! You have work to go to."
"Alright, Honey!" You try to imitate a gruff male voice to sound like the husband but fail miserably. Miri bursts out laughing and manages to slip syrup all over. Just when you clean up one sticky mess another is created.
It's getting dark out as you wipe a table top clean, it must mean that closing time is nearing. You look up to see the only table occupied at the moment by two young girls and secretly hope they leave soon.
When you hear the bell ring, you can't help but wince inwardly. You were hoping no more customers would come. Cursing at your luck, you move to grab a menu and walk towards a table occupied by a man. As you put on a smile and gently place the menu on the table he looks up at you.
"Jimin?"
"Hey," he returns your smile. "I heard that you were working alone today so I came over to check up on you. All good?"
Well, technically Minho had helped you out all morning and halfway through the afternoon, which is when the crowd hits its peak, but he had to leave early to complete some work. But you somehow, felt delighted to have Jimin here. At the very least you knew he wasn't avoiding you.
"All good." You nod reassuringly. "Can I get you something?"
"I'm here to help you, not increase your workload." Jimin says with a warm smile but you notice how distracted he seems. His eyes keep travelling over your shoulder in the direction of the door.
"Is something wrong?" You follow the direction in which he had been looking to find nothing of great interest. But on closer inspection you realise something peculiar and squint your eyes to get a better look. It seems like someone has put on the "closed" sign to the cafe, even though you know for a fact it wasn't you who turned the sign around.
He let's out a forced laugh and waves his hand in denial. "Nothing. Nothing."
Soon enough the last of the customers leave, completely oblivious to Jimin's true identity. Now, as you pick a few dirty dishes and empty coffee cups you notice how Jimin, who had insisted on helping you sticks closer to the tables closer to the door, his eyes travelling to the door ever so often.
Something's up.
"Hey Jimin," His head shoots up to look at you, having been caught off-guard. "I'm going to wash the dishes in the back. Call me if you need anything?"
He smiles giving you a thumps up, looking a little too relieved.
Having pushed a chair into place, Jimin stares around the cafe area with impatience. He was having a hard time keeping his cool when, with a muffled ring, the glass door opens.
"Hyung!" Jungkook rushes to stand closer to Jimin, inspecting the short man from head to toe and frowning when everything seems fine.
Jimin reaches forward and taken the brown paper bag from the other's hand. "Thanks for the underwear."
"The what?!" Jungkook hopes he's misheard Jimin but the smug smile on his face does nothing to confirm his doubt.
"The underwear," He says pulling out a box from within the bag that indeed carries brand new under wears. "I forgot these in Seoul and you know how important they are."
"You made me drive all this way, like a maniac, for under-" Jungkook stops mid-sentence as the sound of something splashing spreads through the cafe. He looks over Jimin's shoulder and freezes in place.
You don't bother about the coffee, that you had made for Jimin, now pooling around your feet or the kind of mess you've just created as you look at the face staring back at you in shock. Your insides tangle into knots and squeeze tightly till you feel sick. Trying to make sense of your surrounding you gulp down and realise how dry your mouth has suddenly become. But it's your heart that's going crazy.
You really look at Jungkook's face this time and notice how pale he looks. The dark circles beneath his eyes makes your heart squeeze painfully.
His lips part as he struggles to say something but words fail him. And before he knows it he's taking a step back. You feel your heart break within you.
When Jungkook turns around ready to bolt out and put as much distance between you and him, he notices the glass doors are bolted shut from the outside by none other than Jimin.
