《Who am I?! (Completed)》Chapter 40

No time for rest
No pillow for my head
Nowhere to run from this
No way to forget
They were all over the place and havoc was painting the streets in their bright coloured costumes.
Doom was definitely on the opposing side but they had plans that could turn that around and it was for sure to work because that's what will probably save them when Hawkmoth least expects it.
Even though the fight was against all their odds, they were superheroes and vigilantes who had been fighting ever since forever and they couldn't think of another lifestyle because what's a life without playing with death.
If something or someone hadn't kill you, it better start running.
Hawkmoth wasn't running but he'd sure wish he did.
Around the shadows creep
Like friends, they cover me
Just wanna lay me down and finally
Try to get some sleep
Gabriel Agreste was a stubborn person and no matter where you were in the world, you knew that.
He stood in the battlefield and he knew that he had to move fast because the heroes were closing in and he had to put Plan B into action before it was too late.
He refused to accept defeat today because he had been planning this for however long even he's not too sure himself.
He knew today was going to be the final ever battle he would have against Ladybug and he knew that Ladybug knew that too but what neither of them knew was what the enemy was planning for the battle.
Ladybug wasn't surprised with how Hawkmoth presented himself in battle, it was always the same thing and she had fought all these akuma's hundreds of times before this day so it was all a piece of cake really but she knew when she fought with the elder man one on one that it would be difficult.
He was a hard man to read and was always unpredictable with his attacks but she was one hundred times worse and everyone knew that.
Hawkmoth was shocked and that was a feat that wouldn't happen often so that's one point to Ladybug.
The man knew Ladybug was going to try her hardest to win today and he couldn't help but feel worried and anxious because she had been so close to succeeding many times beforehand and he wouldn't be shocked if she actually came out on top today. But what shocked the man was the company the red and black heroine had along with her.
It had mainly been the Guardian who fought alone and time to time she would have Abrielle by her side but that wasn't very often, whoever was behind the yellow and black mask was obviously a very busy teenage girl despite her young age.
Hawkmoth was expecting Ladybug to recruit new miraculous holders to aid her in the fight, and he definitely wasn't expecting the Justice League to be present and that shook his magic shoes. He knew the Justice League, how couldn't he know the heroes?!
If he had known they were coming he could've prepared more butterflies so he could infect them!!
The consequences if he failed and lost his miraculous would be even more severe now that they were involved but that made even more determined to take the ladybug earrings.

He just had to find a way to get his grey, magic gloved hands on the cat ring.
We carry on through the storm
Tired soldiers in this war
Remember what we're fighting for
A single bead of sweat trickled down her forehead cleaning the brown dirt off, a single line going all the way down to her eyebrows and showing just how much she had gotten dirty in the fight but she couldn't be bothered at all.
She kicked Mr Pigeon in the face and in one swift motion reached for the brown whistle, and with a single squish from her gloved fingers the object crumbled apart like ash and fell to the ground in pieces but not before letting out a butterfly with shades of purples moving around its wing making it peculiar to look at but Marinette wasn't at all bothered by its appearance.
Without thinking twice she pulled her yo-yo from around her waist and launched it forward in the butterflies direction till it was no longer flying freely, the yo-yo immediately came back to her hands and in the blink of an eye with her finger she lightly yet quickly dragged her finger down the middle of the yo-yo and out flew a totally different looking butterfly, the pure white of its wings putting a soft smile of her lips.
Despite the utter chaos surrounding her she couldn't help but relish the moment of even the smallest victories she had because she could never know when the tides would suddenly turn on them and everything could then go tumbling down.
Marinette would be done for and not only would Paris be ruined but so would the fate of the world, and she would be the one at fault.
Marinette will always be blamed for something even when she had no reason to be the person who was wrongly accused.
However, this time she wouldn't be left to fend herself because she has an entire entourage.
Meet me on the battlefield
Even on the darkest night
I will be your sword & shield, your camouflage
And you will be mine
(Start the song now)
The battlefield wasn't a marked ground, it was an endless amount of dirt that had been paved onto the streets of Paris over hundreds and hundreds of years ago.
The people who built the buildings, who worked hard to provide for a better life in the city of love, those who were so dedicated would never know that this is what happened to their life's work.
Sorry Gustave Eiffel
And just like that the top half of the Eiffel tower toppled down making the biggest dent known to man in the Parisian dirt resulting to an abrupt halt coming upon the entire battlefield, the sound of metal crashing from such a height catching every ear whether good or bad.
Marinette wasn't fazed one bit yet she couldn't help but let out a quiet wince at the decapitated world famous monument.
The bluenette quickly cleared up her throat as everyone stood frozen as she turned her head back around to face the colourful akuma and winked before kicking them off the roof they were standing on.
She looked over down the side of the building and using her yo-yo caught the person who was now back in their normal clothing and gently placed them down on the streets, the yo-yo zipping straight back to her and before anyone could say anything a white butterfly flew from the inside of the black and red weapon.

She watched the butterfly fly away into the distance and faced the akuma who she felt sneaking up behind her because of her wings twitching on her back. She turned her body fully to face her next opponent and swung her weapon at her side,
"Now... where were we?"
Echos of the shots ring out
We may be the first to fall
Everything could stay the same or we could change it all
Meet me on the battlefield
Adrien looked glum but no one could care less, he was punched or kicked or hurt in some kind of way whenever a hero had gone pass him and he had no answer as to why but he did know that they were the reason why bruises were already painted on different parts of his body.
Wonder Woman had been the latest person who had come across him and she definitely packed a punch but he didn't really expect any less because she's fricking wonder woman! He was still so awestruck that he didn't see the black and blue figure coming his way.
Suddenly, a leg came and tripped him over making him lose his balance and fall flat on his face. Whoever had tripped him let out a laugh and the laugh was deep and masculine, it was obviously a man who had done the deed.
The blonde picked up his sore face from the floor and could see the distorted figure doing a backflip onto the next building roof.
He rubbed his cheek with his right hand wincing nearly every time he scanned over his jaw,
"Where's Gorilla when you need him most?..."
We're standing face-to-face
With our own human race
We commit the sins again and than our sons and daughters pay
Our tainted history, is playing on repeat
But we could change it if we stand up strong and take the lead
The battlefield was definitely a sight for sore eyes and most of the eyes watching were most likely sore by this point.
When I was younger, I was named
A generation unafraid
For the heirs to come, be brave
She panted heavily and was met with the masked face of her nemesis.
And meet me on the battlefield
Even on the darkest night
I will be your sword & shield, your camouflage
And you will be mine
She stood tall and unafraid.
Echos of the shots ring out
We may be the first to fall
Everything could stay the same or we could change it all
She wasn't about to show any weakness to a man who deserved nothing but pain, torture and suffering till the end of time.
Meet me on the battlefield
He hadn't changed one bit and that was what burned every living fibre in her body but she kept her cool, she wasn't going to show him just how much he really got under her skin because that's what he wanted.
Meet me on the battlefield
Even on the darkest night
I will be your sword & shield, your camouflage
And you will be mine
Along with the essence of the butterfly miraculous, she could feel the peafowl miraculous too lurking somewhere in the shadows like it always did.
As soon as this was all over and done with, Marinette promised to get acquainted with the two kwami she never had the pleasure of meeting due to circumstances and they would get the attention and love they deserved. Whatever they wanted and whatever she could give they would get, no arguments needed.
Echos of the shots ring out
We may be the first to fall
Everything could stay the same or we could change it all
(We could change it all)
Marinette didn't care and ignored her body screaming at her to stop moving, she had been fighting for hours and had only now come face to face with the man in charge during the final minutes.
He wasn't planning on losing this fight but she wasn't planning on losing this battlefield and its soldiers.
Meet me on the battlefield
The past five years had all finally come down to this moment and time seemed to stop. The however-old-this-man-is and the newly seventeen year old stood six feet apart and the tension was reeking off the walls.
Emotions didn't matter, determination didn't matter, allies didn't matter- none of it did. It was all down to skill, smarts, ability and what they both had in plan because with it all took one simple move and everyone would be doomed.
Hawkmoth wanted the ladybug and cat miraculous but Ladybug wanted the butterfly and peacock miraculous.
Only two jewels were present in the room while the other two were nowhere in sight making it just a little harder for the both of them but one of the two had a plan for that.
But who?
And they charged, one with a magic cane and the other with a multipurpose, indestructible yo-yo.
The odds were even and no one could predict who would come out victorious, only fate would knows and she doesn't spill anything to anyone no matter the temptation.
They fought and fought till blood appeared somewhere from their magical costumes, it should never ever happen but they were both so indulged in the fight that they didn't take the crimson liquid into account.
Marinette didn't notice but her ponytail had come completely loose and her magical hairband had fallen off somewhere and somehow but she couldn't care less at this moment, so she continued to fight with her waist length hair falling freely as she moved like a ballerina.
Hawkmoth had bits of his purple suit ripping apart and he also took into account that he wasn't exactly cut out to fight as much as he was doing, he was tiring his body and it was all because he wasn't physically fighting for himself over the past several years and it was his fault but looking at the teenager he was trying to attack, he could see she wasn't as fatigued as him.
Yet little did he know that the seventeen year old was on the verge of collapsing any moment now but as she said before, she wasn't leaving this city without the two pieces of jewellery she needed and rightfully deserved and actually was meant to be in her possession.
It was going to be a fight to the death and they both knew it, but did either person have the guts to kill? The answer was a straight up yes.
Meet me on the battlefield
And so they did
(We could change it all)
And everything would forever be different because of what the two of them have changed

Polly and Drake
Drake has been searching for a job as a personal guard, but wherever he turns, he is kicked out without fail. It's not that he's terrible with weapons, or inattentive. It could be because of his obvious racial heritage. Or because of Polly. With his funds dwindling, the only remaining option is to become one of the Cursed: poor souls that work for the Dragoneye Guild. In other lands, they may be called adventurers, saviors or even heroes, but not in the White Desert. Here, they are shunned and ignored. Depraved people who forsook their humanity for money and fame. With this choice, Drake may not only fall from grace, but also become one of only a few thousands capable of unearthing the secrets of ancient times. If he could get this guardsman notion out of his head. May contain gore, violence, profanity and traumatising content. Taking another shoot at this writing business. I write for fun and when I have time. There is no plan. The story may change drastically from what it starts out - or not. We'll see what happens. Currently, I'm aiming for a Slice of Life with LitRPG elements at a later time.
