《The Scars You Left Behind [on hold]》Mistaken Identities

The following morning, Emily woke up extra early to go for a run. She hasn't let her wolf, Grace, out for a run in nearly a week, which was far too long, according to Grace. So, Emily just threw on some athletic clothing before heading down the stairs. As she passed the kitchen, she grabbed a banana to eat before her run.
As she was pealing her banana and walking, she bumped into a hard chest. She gasped slightly and looked up only to be met with the same eyes that claimed she had some sort of power radiating off of her. "Greyson. Hey." Emily greeted, taking a bite of her banana, subconsciously praying that he didn't make a banana joke since she was a girl.
Luckily, he didn't, or if he did, he didn't say it out loud. "Hey, Ems. Where are you going?" Greyson asked, his morning voice ever so attractive to Emily. She had to hold back a smug look.
"I'm going for a run. Want to join?"
"U-Uh, sorry, n-no thanks." Greyson stuttered a little nervously. Emily just shrugged before muttering suit yourself and walked outside and into the woods. Never in her entire life had anyone that Emily knew turned down a run. How strange. By the time she had reached the woods, Emily had finished her banana and started stretching, preparing for the shift.
After she finished stretching, she went and stripped behind a tree, flinging her clothes onto a branch so that she wouldn't shred them when she shifted and so that no one would come out to the woods and steal her clothes.
Emily turned her back to the tree before calling upon Grace who was impatiently waiting. Grace commented in Emily's mind. Emily just smiled before shifting into wolf form, hearing her bones break but not feeling it.
Soon enough, Grace was dodging trees and leaping over logs as she ran. Her paw thudded against the moist grass in sinc with her beating heart. There was no better feeling than running free in your wolf form, Emily thought, and Grace agreed.
Grace ran for what seemed like eternity before stopping at a stream to get a drink of water. As she was slurping up the surprising clean water, she heard a twig snap behind her, making her freeze. She didn't move a muscle, not one centimeter.

She had a plan, though. If whoever was behind her was aiming to hurt her, she had a plan. Grace always had a plan when it came to situations like these. Grace took one last slurp of water before immediately spinning around, heading straight for the familiar ash brown wolf, pinning it to the ground. It took Anna by surprise.
Emily noticed the wolf as Anna, immediately hopping off her. Anna's wolf, Diana, sent Grace a wolfy grin. Anna's mind-link voiced through Emily's mind, causing her to roll her eyes. How could she have just assumed that Greyson and her were starting a relationship after one conversation and a greeting? Sometimes, Anna didn't make sense.
Emily mind-linked Anna back, heading back over to the stream to drink some more water. She felt slightly dehydrated and that was the last thing she needed to be right now since the Masquerade Ball was later in the evening, at eight o'clock.
Emily practically heard Anna send her a smug look through the mind-link, Anna dragged out for effect. Emily rolled her eyes internally and turned around, wanting to get back to her run.
Emily stated through her mind monotone before taking off back into the woods. She honestly didn't know why Anna was slightly pissing her off. Emily felt a little different today, she was in more of a pissy mood. And she was never in a pissy mood.
Emily ran for another hour or so, avoiding the pack borders, before heading back to the tree where her clothes were hanging from the tree. She shifted back into human form and quickly got dressed. She then made her way back to the backyard where there were mothers watching as their pups played with other pups.
Emily smiled to herself as she came to a stop to watch the children, wanting kids of her own one day.
Emily was taken out of her admiring condition by a tug at her athletic pants. She looked down and smiled brightly once she saw the young boy – no older than six or seven years old – who was beaming at her like she was his older sister.

Emily bent down to the boys level and shot him a smile, "Hey, buddy. What's your name?" Emily asked as the boy grabbed her hand and put his hand in hers, surprising her. But, her smile did not fade, it just got bigger and brighter.
"I'm Carter!" Carter beamed before looking behind Emily, at the woods. His smiled didn't fade, either. His eyes went back to hers as he asked, "Did you have fun on your run, Luna?"
His words had Emily's eyes widening with astonishment. Had she heard him right? Did he just call her Luna? Were her ears playing tricks on her?
"What did you just call me?" Emily questioned, her curiosity the cause.
Before Carter could reply, a lady who Emily assumed was Carter's mother approached them with an apologetic look. "Carter! You can't just walk up to people like that. I'm so very sorry that he disturbed you, Luna. He's always wondering off." She laughed nervously. Emily was even more confused.
Emily smiled small, "Oh, it's no problem, he's a cutie-pie... but, did you- did you just call me Luna?" Emily stuttered a little, having a hard time getting the words out.
The woman looked almost as confused as Emily, "Um, yes, I did. I'm sorry, I didn't know your first name or else I would've added your name after Luna." The woman assured Emily.
When Emily didn't reply immediately, the woman began to panic, "Oh, no. Did I upset you? I-I didn't mean to, I—" Emily interrupted her with an assuring smile.
"No, no, you didn't upset me," Emily laughed light-heartedly, "You just confused me, that's all. You called me Luna, but I can assure you, I am no Luna, m'am."
The woman furrowed her eyebrows, "Are you sure? I could've sworn I felt the exact same power that you're sending off from my pack's Luna." There it was again. That word power. Carter was staring at the two who were exchanging words. Carter was happy that his mother and Luna Emily were getting along.
"I'm sorry... I need to go." Emily excused herself, "It was nice to meet you, Carter and..." Emily trailed off, awaiting the woman's name.
"Misty,"
"Misty, it was nice to meet you, too. But, I-I have to go." Emily blinked and then took off in a fast walk back into the pack house, in search of Greyson. He had to know something about all these people talking about this power.
She finally found him sitting on a bench in the gardens, staring at nothing in particular.
"Greyson!" Emily called out as she neared him, getting his attention. He smiled at her, but his smiled dropped when he saw the determined and stern face that she had been expressing. "What's wrong?" He asked.
Emily plopped herself down beside Greyson. "A mother and her child just referred to me as Luna. Do you have any idea why?" Emily knew that Greyson had to know something. And something told her that he wasn't too keen on sharing what he knew. And she didn't know why.
"Um, no. Why would I?"
"Because, you're the one who told me you had sensed a power coming off of me. Now, you need to tell me what you know," Emily's stern look dropped into a soft one, "I'm confused, and... a little scared. If you know anything, you have to tell me."
Greyson sighed, "I think I know why everyone is mistaking you for a Luna..." Greyson trailed off.
"I don't know how you didn't figure this out sooner, to be completely honest..." Greyson shot Emily a look. Emily just sat there, impatiently waiting for him to say something, a pleading look in her eyes.
"I believe that your mate is an Alpha, and judging by how much power is coming from you, he's a powerful one... which also means that he's here, at this pack house... right now."

Bone And Amber: The Inside Story On The Return Of The Dinosaurs
A miracle has been achieved: non-avian, Mesozoic dinosaurs have been brought back to life - not by a technical university or a government programme, but by a venture capitalist concern, for reasons of profit. The social, economic, and political ripples of this development will do much more than enable the simple launch of a theme park for the rich: they will change the world. FAQ: Do I need to know anything about the Jurassic Park franchise to enjoy this? No. This story is not exactly a Jurassic Park fanfic - it is a story about the de-extinction of Mesozoic dinosaurs. While the story begins with some of the events depicted in the Jurassic Park universe, it is very much its own creature, and designed for readers with no prior knowledge of the franchise. It will begin to diverge quite quickly, as well: the dramatic focus will not be on people running around tropical islands trying to be eaten. The whole point of the exercise is to explore the profound consequences and ripples an event like the mass-cloning of extinct animals would generate.Do I need to know anything about dinosaurs to enjoy this? Also no! Sensing a theme yet? Although, if I’ve done my homework correctly, a newbie to the subject will be able to pick up something - not just about the animals themselves, but about their role as a vehicle to better understand the history of life on Earth, and the application of the scientific method to a sadly fragmentary puzzle.Without further ado, please enjoy!

Zeke Herald, Goblin Slayer
Zeke wakes up inside a small cavemouth, no memories or direction, just the will to live. Also, he's smack dab in the middle of a forest that's teeming with ugly little goblins. The only good goblin is one with a sword sticking out of it, as my father used to say. I tried to incorperate LitRPG elements. I'm only recently introduced to the genre, but I find it really fasinating! So intrigued I even started writing a little story expressing my joy of all things numerical! This story has a focus on hardwork and deliberate progression, no magical deus ex machinas here sorry.

The Weather Vane
This is the first few chapter of my new book available on Amazon. The beginning is very light and fun, but more mature content comes later. From medieval fantasy to ultra high-tech to dinosaurs, The Weather Vane is a grippingly fast-paced adventure full of fun and excitement, literary flourish, and colorful characters. A group of ascendant masters find themselves in the afterlife and learn that they are newly recruited into the cosmic battle of good versus evil. Before they can join the fight, shipwreck strikes and they are lost in the ether. Stranded in a magical land beyond the reaches of the universe, The Weather Vane follows our crew of heroes as they try to piece things back together even while The Dark Lord’s forces march, maraud, and murder at every turn. Themes of darkness chase the overall levity of The Weather Vane which suffers not a lull as the climax begins near the beginning of the book and drives on through the greatly satisfying finish. The most epic of epics.
