Madeline's POV- December 2017
Things were not going to end well, I knew that the second I heard my old roommate Manny state,
"Let's make things interesting"
He and Cody were playing beer pong and were already drunk. My brothers were building a throne with the empty beer cans.
"So Melanie gave me a bottle of eggnog, and we should totally take shots"
"You two are going to get fucked up," I told them.
Mel gave Manny a bottle of Rompope, which was an eggnog-like drink.
"How fucked up can you get with eggnog?"
"Pretty fucked up" I replied.
An hour later, Cody and Mike were scream/singing Moana's, You're Welcome.
"I know it's a lot: the hair, the bod!
When you're staring at a demi-god"
May I point out that they were just singing it, like without the medley playing.
"What can I say except you're welcome
For the tides, the sun, the sky
Hey, it's okay, it's okay
You're welcome
I'm just an ordinary demi-guy "
I'm sure Cody would love to see himself acting a fool, so I recorded the rest.
"Hey!
What has two thumbs that pulled up the sky
When you were waddling yay high
This guy!"
It was honestly hilarious to see two, 22+-year-olds singing a child's movie song.
"When the nights got cold
Who stole you fire from down below?
You're lookin' at him, yo!Oh, also I lassoed the sun
You're welcome!
To stretch the days and bring you fun"
They knew the song word for word.
"Also, I harnessed the breeze
You're welcome!
To fill your sails and shake your trees"
I couldn't help but laugh as they failed at a high five.
"So what can I say except you're welcome
For the islands, I pulled from the sea
There's no need to pray, it's okay

You're welcome!
Ha, I guess it's just my way of being me
You're welcome!
You're welcome!"
Manny made eye contact with my phone and grinned as he hooked his arm around Cody's neck.
"Well, come to think of it
Kid, honestly I can go on and on
I can explain every natural phenomenon
The tide, the grass, the ground, oh
That was Maui just messing around
I killed an eel
I buried its guts
Sprouted a tree, now you got coconuts!
What's the lesson?
What is the takeaway?
Don't mess with Maui when he's on the break-away!And the tapestry here on my skin
Is a map of the victories I win!
Look where I've been
I make everything happen
Look at that mini-Maui just tippity-tappin'!"
They then proceeded to look at each other.
"Well, anyway let me say you're welcome
For the wonderful world you know
Hey, it's okay, it's okay
You're welcome!
Well, come to think of it, I gotta go
Hey, it's your day to say you're welcome
'Cause I'm gonna need that boat
I'm sailing away, away
You're welcome!
'Cause Maui can do anything but float
You're welcome!
You're welcome!
And thank you!"
I smiled as they clumsily hugged each other.
"So Cody, how trashed are you?" I questioned.
"Pretty darn wasted"
He smiled and clumsily tucked in a piece of hair behind my hear.
"Dude, can you believe that nuns made this drink?"
Cody looked at Manny with wide eyes.
"Are you serious?"
I nodded confirming that nuns did, in fact, make this drink.
"That's dope"
Manny nodded agreeing.
"Nuns know how to turn up"
He then smiled.
"I am going to get struck by lightning for saying that"
Now it was Cody to agree. Before anyone one of us could say something, the door opened. Mom smiled at us.

"You're back!"
She looked at Cody and then turned to me as he stumbled over to greet her.
"I want whatever he's having"
I laughed.
"Oh no you don't, this is probably his only time he will enjoy this drink" I stated.
"What is it?"
"Mel got Manny a bottle of Rompope as an early Christmas gift" I replied.
She hummed and looked at Cody.
"Oh honey, you are going to feel like shit tomorrow especially if the nuns from her hometown made it"
"They did" I confirmed.
"When does your family get here?"
Today was Wednesday, and there were 5 days left until Christmas.
"On Friday"
"You've got a day of recovery"
We were supposed to go for a hike tomorrow morning, but I don't think it was going to happen. These two were going to be so hungover.
"You're flying home hungover Manuel?"
Manny smiled.
"I deserved this"
Mom nodded agreeing.
"Yes you did, you're done with your first semester of Med Schooll"
"Only a handful to go"
She reached over and squeezed his shoulder.
"It will all be worth it honey"
I looked at Cody when he slowly sat on the floor.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
His eyes were closed.
"The world is spinning"
Mom smiled.
"Let's get you two fed"
We both helped Cody up and to the kitchen, where she reheated two corndogs for Cody and made an egg sandwich for Manny.
"We should watch a movie!"
"Sure, let's change first though" I told Cody.
I had to help both Cody and Manny up the stairs and to my room. As they were changing, I told them I was going to go make popcorn. Instead of doing that, I walked downstairs where Mom and my stepdad, Mike were.
"Are they finally asleep?"
"Not yet, I told them I was going to make popcorn. I'll check up on them in like 5 minutes" I replied.
Mike chuckled.
"I will be surprised if they aren't asleep already"
When I went to go check on them, Cody was passed out on my bed with Poppy cuddled who was 'grooming' him and Manny was out cold on the inflatable mattress.
"How did your dad take it that you're not spending New Years with him?"
Cody and I were spending the New Years together, just us two.
"He was a bit bummed out" I admitted.
I wasn't a little kid anymore, I did not need to rotate holidays between my parents.
"You two deserve a nice getaway"
We were going to go to Paris.
"Just don't make me a grandmother just yet, I'm too young for that title"
Cody and I were taking things slowly when it came to that. We agreed that he could not ask me to marry him for another 2 years and that we would try our bests to be safe when it came to having sex.
"Poppy is all you're getting for now," I told her.
She just laughed and nodded.
"And I am content with that...for now"
Oh momma.

(Re)Install
After his death, Garry, AKA Gaz, is summoned by a nameless goddess to another world and tasked with a very important mission, the main characters sets out to travel around in search of a way to accomplish his objectives and live happily ever after. The catch? The mission is to save the same goddess, who've been sealed away for all eternity in who knows where. Having little to no energy left, she was unable to create a decent blessing, so Gaz is left with a weak body in a savage world that he knows nothing about. Also, did i mention he wasn't reincarnated as a human? Neither as a beast? Well...His actual body might actually not be that bad. As long as he survives the first day, of course.-------------Okay, some of you might know from Insania Online, some don't, so might as well explain it here. This is a Re: (ish) style story, with a Scifi (ish) setting and some fantasy (ish) assets (precision is overrated). This is kind of a side project I will work while I take a break from insania. This is a crazy idea i had thanks to a certain game's trailer, and decided to write it. Even if it starts fairly serious, it will probably have a lot of wacky comedy, so don't say you haven't been warned and don't try to take it too seriously. Really. If you are expecting a dramatic and heavy story, this is very probably not what you want(who knows? I'm just starting it...).
