Marisol's POV- April 2018
I snapped out of the train of thought just as Desi shut off her car. Cody had invited me to a game, and once I agreed he informed me I'd be sitting his with family (sister and mom). Sure Desi was also at the game, but we would not be sitting next to each other.
"If they make you uncomfortable, I'll step in"
I turned to look at her.
"Does anyone know we're related?" I wondered.
"I don't think so"
I wanted to see who genuinely was nice, and who was not.
"Let's keep it that way," I stated.
She looked at me and slowly nodded.
"Okay"
I watched as she reached to take her phone from its dock. A smile appeared on her face which leads me to believe that it was Chris who had texted her.
"Chris wants to see me, so I'm going to head over to the family room"
I nodded and accepted the keys to her car.
"I'm going to hang in here for a bit, and I'll be in there shortly," I told her.
"Okay, I'll see you after" I stated.
"Chris wants to see me, so I'm going to head over to the family room"
I nodded as she handed me the keys to her car.
"I'm going to hang in here for a bit, and I'll be in there shortly," I said.
"Okay, I'll see you after okay?"
I nodded and watched as she exited the car. It took about a while to hype myself up, but I got out of the car and locked it as I made my way towards the double doors. Dodger Stadium was HUGE, there were so many levels to this baseball club.
"Hello, Miss Clarke"
"Hi, Gina" I greeted the kind security who opened the door for me.

I offered her a small smile as I stepped inside. Okay, now I just had to look for the elevator. Thankfully, I found it quick and did not have to wait too long for it. I stepped into the elevator and took a deep breath earning a glance from the worker. He offered me a smile as I exited the elevator. I had been on the floor before, but only once.
"You're looking a little lost there"
"Is it that obvious?" I wondered as I saw Desi's boyfriend, Chris making his way over.
He chuckled and nodded.
"You've been standing in the same spot for about a minute now"
"Maybe I'm just trying to kill time," I told him.
"Are you really? Or do you want me to walk you to the family room"
"Okay, I'm not. I am kinda lost" I admitted.
"This way"
He glanced at me as I followed him.
"Cody's an idiot"
"Why do you say that?" I questioned.
"He's making you sit with his mom and sister"
Well, that was assuring.
"His mom came to terms that you're sticking around, it's his sister who is not so thrilled. She can be nice, but she can also be a downright bitch"
He gestured toward the family room.
"And here we are"
I bit my lip as I looked at the door.
"Don't be nervous"
Too late for that.
"Before you go in there, I would like a proper greeting"
"Of course," I said.
I accepted his bear hug and pressed my nose against his bicep.
"Just be yourself, if they don't like you then fuck them"
He squeezed me.
"Such nice advice," I told him as he let go of me.
"It sucks you're dealing with this because you have actual legit things to be worrying about like Veterinarian school"

I nodded.
"Is it really worth it?"
"I asked Cody that same question" I replied.
He smiled at a pretty blonde and brunette who stepped out of the family room.
"Chris! I heard the great news. About time you asked Desiree to be your girlfriend"
It was cute to see how timid he got when it came to talking about Desi.
"And who might you be?"
Thankfully, Chris introduced me.
"Suzzana, Mariana this is Marisol. She's Cody's friend"
I felt a pit in my stomach as they both faked a smile.
"It's so nice to meet you!"
Chris nodded and looked at me.
"I'll let Cody know you're here"
Suzanna and Mariana watched as Chris held the door open for me. I smiled at him as I stepped into the family room. Desi was seated in between a blonde who was holding a glass of wine, and a pretty brunette who was looking in my direction. Just as I took a deep breath, I heard in the fakest enthusiastic voice,
"Marisol!"
I watched as Jennifer and her daughter made their way over.
"We were starting to think you weren't going to come"
"My dad really wanted me to have brunch with him," I told them.
They were both taller than me, so I had to look up at them.
"I'm Ashli"
I outstretched my hand, and then slowly moved my arm as she chose to ignore my hand.
"So you're the famous Marisol"
Before I could confirm..or deny she continued,
"The reason why Cody broke up with Zooey"
I glanced up to see Desi staring right at us. The brunette and blonde sitting next to her were also hearing in on the conversation. As I looked around, I noticed the room was not empty whatsoever.
"I honestly don't know what my brother sees in you, Zooey was much prettier"
Jennifer cleared her throat.
"What you said is true, but we have to understand that Cody has moved on"
I looked away from them as someone cleared their throat.
"Marisol, you don't need to be treated that way. Come on, we're leaving"
Ashli raised an eyebrow as Desi looked at her.
"Let me reintroduce myself to you, I'm Desiree, Marisol's cousin"
Both their eyes widened.
"Marisol may let herself be talked that way, but I most certainly will not let you do that. If you actually got to know her you'd know how much she values family, and how hard-working she is. Instead, you've judged her and somehow believe that she's interested in your son simply because of his paycheck. Maybe lay off your son's life and actually see how happy she makes him"
Desi looked at me.
"Let's go"

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)

Curious and cute, he will travel and meet new people, discovering the world he's in, to try and give a last goodbye to the three creation gods in his dad-tree's place.------It's my first time writing a novel! Or anything of the kind, in fact. So bash me as much as you like (within reason, of course).------This will be a world of humans, humanoïds, beasts, magic, and a heartwarming tale of travels across it. It won't always be butterflies, roses and friendship though, heavy moments are there too. Also : depictions of violence, blood and gore, nudity, strong language, alcohol and other classic +17 stuff. To the reader's discretion.
