(Noah's pov)
I wake up freezing cold. Looking next to I seen Cody had rolled over in his sleep so he wasn't near me anymore. Seeing we were still on the roof I gently shake him. After a few seconds he awakes and apologises for moving. I smirk at him saying, "It's fine as long as you cuddle me now." He laughs and we lay back down together. All I can think about is Cody. He relieves me of my worries and no matter what he's always looking after me even when I broke up with him. I don't get how someone likes me so much. Honestly, I'm just some nerd with no friends and Cody is a sweet guy and he gets along with everyone. That's what I admire about him he can be friends with anyone he wants but he chose me. Once we're off this shitty island I hope we can move in together. By the time we get back I'm hoping to move near to where he lives. That's how serious our relationship ship is already. I'm kinda scared about that, how clingy I get easily. Luckily, I'm certain that Cody will never leave me. Before him there was someone I loved so much but they broke my heart so since then I never trust people easily. Apart from Cody, he's the only person I trust with me whole heart. Cody notices I'm deep in thought so he layed his head on my chest. I turn to look at him. We lean in simultaneously and lock lips. He moves so he's laying on top of me. Shit, I have a boner. I think he noticed because he's giggling. "Noah, I don't know what I would do without you." Aww he makes my heart melt. "Same I wouldn't know what to do without you. Your the most perfect person ever and I'll never stop loving you even when I'm dead," I lovingly say. I look up for a moment and see a camera watching us. What the fuck?! Can we have any privacy around here. "Cody turn around there's a camera filming us." Cody's sees it and seems angrier than me which is unusual. "Are you okay Cody? I know it's annoying but you don't have to stress about it." He starts panicking and tells me, "My family are watching this and I'm not out to them yet." "Omg Cody I'm so sorry that happened to you. No one should be outed if they don't want to be." Cody hugs me and asks if we can go back to my room. "Whatever you want baby." I carry him to my room and place him on my bed. I go out of my room to shout at Chris because of it.

This story could be about the Tellask Empire, ruler of a thousand suns and faced with imminent peril at the hands of the Orakh hordes. It could be about Paltai Amberell, the scion of a noble elven House, fallen upon hard times and seeking to find the key that will restore his family's name and save the Empire itself. It could be the story of his voidship, The Viceroy's Pride, powered by magic and crewed by a team of crack marines as they search for adventure and the solution to the Empire's myriad problems. Instead, this is the story of Daniel Thrush, human electrical engineer, befuddled researcher and survivor of the debacle that was first contact with a spacefaring civilization. Due to a combination of luck, magic, hard work, and more luck he is thrust into the center of events as Earth is shoved onto a much larger stage rife with semi-immortal elves and magical kingdoms that predate the Earthly invention of agriculture. Earth is outnumbered, and we have precisely one wizard. Dan. He's not very good at it, but he's going to have to learn in a hurry or watch everything he knows get torn apart by massive spacefaring empires straight from the pages of a fantasy novel. ---------- Some readers have noted that the MC tends to be weak willed and pushed around a bit. A significant portion of the story is his character growth into not being a pushover (i.e. him being passive is in the early chapters on purpose). I'm just including this caveat/warning to make sure that readers aren't surprised/upset and that they stick with it until he learns to stand up for himself. His arc begins to crystallize around chapters 25-27. If that's too long to wait, I get it, I'm just trying to do my due diligence and warn you that the character development is a bit of a slow burn. The most devastating thing to an eternal being must be boredom. If nothing can change you, how can you yourself change? Sometimes you have to learn that the hard way. I should point out that there are multiple lead characters and they will all have their own personalities and motivations. While the story will focus more on our MC Trey, you can expect multiple POV switches. If you do not like POV switches, this might not be for you. My first book. If anyone will ever read this, be so kind as to leave a comment. Even, if all you say is an insult. As long as I can improve this work by your comment, it's all fine. One thing’s for sure. I will keep writing as if my reader can handle curse words without curling into a little ball and repeatedly saying: "Leave my safe-space alone, you monster". Therefore, you can expect some profanity.
