《Haikyuu!! AUs (x Reader)》Kuroo Testurou - Kitten

You've always had this uncanny ability to transform into cat.
You always found yourself near Nekoma High School. You would sit in this one spot under a tree and wait for someone to come over to you. When it got dark, you would go home, and then whenever you woke up, you would go back there and sit.
After a few days under the tree, a boy with bedhead black hair, wearing a Nekoma school uniform, walked up to you.
You could tell from where the sun was that it was just past 3:00 which meant that school was out. The boy walked up to you and crouched down. You turned your head slightly, and he tilted his head as well.
"Meow," you purred.
The boy placed a hand on your head, and started petting you.
Moving around, you started to wrap your tail around his leg as you rubbed your head against his shin.
"Oh, hello kitten," he called. "What are you doing out here?"
"Meow," you purred again, and nuzzled your head into his hand.
"Heh, just relaxing I guess," he sighed, picking you up.
Your body hung as your front paws were stretched in front of you. You purred as he pulled you into his arms and let you settle in them.
"Awe, you're just a big baby," he rubbed his fingers under your chin. "Let's take you home."
Purring again, you pushed your muzzle against his chest.
"The names Kuroo, by the way, you should know if you're going to stay with me."
"Meow~"
"Of course, you can't talk," he sighed.

It wasn't long before Kuroo opened his front door and placed you down carefully on the hardwood floor. You watched as he took off his shoes and messenger bag.

He gave you a smile and motioned for you to follow him.
Walking into his room, he flopped onto to the bed and called for you to join him. But instead, you just went under it.
"Hey, don't do that."
Kuroo got off his bed and laid flat on his stomach to look under his bed.
"Come out of there."
You pushed your back against the corner under his bed. Tingling started to erupt through your body.
Oh come on. Not now!
"Hey, come here."
He reached his arms out, just barely missing you. Groaning, he pushed his arm further. A smooth object was placed on his hand. Holding it, he gently pulled it.
When he finally managed to see what he was grabbing on to, he froze.
The big (E/C) eyes he looked into were different from before.
"You're...you're...a human...and you're naked" he said. His eyes widen as he slowly backed away from the bed confused.
"Yaaaa, about that. Can I have a shirt or something?"
Not taking his wide eyes off you, he nodded and reached for his closet. Grabbing a large volleyball jersey, he walked back to your form that was still under the bed.
He sat in front of you and held up his old jersey. You reached your arm out and into the short sleeve, then continued to pull in the large shirt.
"How is this possible?" He asked. "How—what—what's happening?"
"Um, well, I don't actually know myself. I don't know how it happens," you said, crawling out from under the bed. "It's been happening since I was born."
Kuroo looked at you as you tried to pull the bottom of his shirt down.
"Sooooo," he trailed, "what now?"
"Now," you said, "I wait for dark and then leave."

"Why did you even let me take you here then?"
"I was a cat! You're the one who brought me here!"
"Because I thought you were a stray! Sorry for trying to give a cat a home~" he hugged himself.
"I prefer to be a stray. And for your information, I do have a home, I just don't like it there," you sighed, sitting on his bed and playing with his bed sheets.
You covered your legs with his blanket, and hugged one of his pillows.
"Why?" he asked.
"Why what?" you replied.
"Why don't you like it there?" he asked again, looking up at you from the ground.
Your eyes flickered from cat to human. "That's a long story..."
"Well," he said, he picked up his phone and looked at the time, "we've got at least two hours until it's dark out."
"So? What of it?"
"We both got time."
Sighing, you settled yourself and began to talk.
"Ever since my parents figured out that I had this ability, they ignore me. They act as though I'm not even there. At first, I didn't really care. Then, I got really annoyed. I would stand in front of the T.V, played music as loud as I could, even jumped up and down on my bed. And they would just carry on. It's like being invisible. So, I stay with friends who think that changing into a cat is cool."
"So, you don't actually have a home, you have houses, places to crash," Kuroo said in a low voice.
"I guess, but I consider them my home. It makes it seem less sad," you explained.
Kuroo got up from the ground. "It actually makes it even more sad."
"Oh."
You shrugged your shoulders and started to fiddle with your fingers. There was an eerie silence in the room. Your hand formed a fist as you thought about your horrible "parents".
"You know," Kuroo said, he got up from the ground and sat beside you, "you look nice in my jersey."
Burying your face deep into the pillow you groaned. "Don't say things like that."
Kuroo grinned. "Is it because you get all blushy?"
Shaking your head, you let out a muffled 'no'.
"Tetsurou are you home?" someone shouted in the living room, slamming the front door shut.
"Mom." Kuroo got up and walked out the door, leaving you in his room.
Kuroo saw his mom in the kitchen. "Mom, you're home early."
"Ya, and I'll be making dinner. Any requests?" she asked.
"No, not as long as you make it," he smiled.
"Okay, dinner will be ready in about 40 minutes. I'll call you down when it's done."
Nodding, Kuroo walks back to his room.
"My mom's home and is making dinn—"
In his room, there was no girl, or cat. Just a small post-it-note with messy writing on it.
Sorry, I had to leave.
I'll see you tomorrow.

Walking out of the gym, Kuroo looked around for a small cat with (H/C) fur.
"Meow~"
Under a tree, sat the cat from the day before, only this time she was sitting in a red and black jersey.
Bending down, Kuroo picked up the cat.
"Hello, Kitten~ let's go home."
"Meow~"

The Queen's Guard
Friedrich Schreiner is a proud gefreiter of the Queen's Guard, 2nd Company: the finest fighting infantry on the continent (barring the Temple Guard; but please don't bring that up). Service is honourable but, with the Empire on a peacetime footing, terribly boring. Affairs take a dramatic turn for the worse when a mysterious invader uses a forgotten and taboo magical means to breach the capital, plunging the nation into chaos and endangering the royal family. With events spiraling out of control, Friedrich is entrusted with a critical mission. Will hot lead, cold steel, and his determination be enough to see him through? The Queen's Guard is what I'm calling a black powder fantasy story: it's set in a loose equivalent of the early 18th century (plus or minus a few pieces I decided I wanted or didn't want). Magic exists, but not in a spell-slinging sort of way: it's Earth-shaking undertakings or minor enchantments forged in by master craftsmen, the grand working of a secretive cabal or a slight nudge to the course of a blow. I, the eternal optimist, have a full trilogy in mind. The first book is The Prince's Arquebusier, hence the cover and the title disagreeing! This is my shot at 2021's NaNoWriMo and RR Writathon! I've hitherto been terrible at writing long-form fiction, so this is an effort to break out of that by having some accountability in being supposed to post chapters regularly. Here's hoping it works! I have an outline, but not too much detail. I'll do my best to avoid continuity errors, doing anything glaringly stupid, or otherwise fluffing my lines, but I can't make any promises on that. Please do let me know any feedback! Always happy to improve. [participant in the Nov 2021 Royal Road Writathon challenge]
