《Gone Boy》23

The dorms weren't a pretty sight either.
They had figured out the dinners that appeared were Midoriya's doing.
They figured out the random gifts were Midoriya's doing.
They figured out that Midoriya helped them way more than he should have.
Now they were lost. His kindness and compassion laid lifeless on the floor.
Kaminari had brought up the lack of dinners a few weeks ago. Jiro and Uraraka talked about how the gifts they kept receiving randomly had stopped.
Jiro's guitar had been finally shipped back to the dorms with a total of fifteen plus signatures a month ago. And Uraraka had received a lump sum of money from an unknown source.
Many others had received a seemingly final extravagant gift before everything just stopped.
The food stopped ever since Midoriya was admitted into the hospital several months ago, but the final gifts were more recent.
Ojiro made the connection that Midoriya probably sent the gifts. Sato stated that the greenette probably made the food as well.
Whatever recovery the class was beginning to make crumbled into dust at the revelation. They all went to bed exhausted and downcast.
The next morning everyone awoke to screams. Multiple screams. The class rushed down to the common room and sought out the reason behind the loud noises.
On the floor was Mina, sobbing. She had her hand out to reach over multiple papers on the floor. All of them looked like they were ripped out of a notebook.
Todoroki edged closer to the piles of paper and picked one up.
It was titled: To Hagakure.
He stood in shock at the title. It was handwritten in pen. But the font was in Midoriya's handwriting.
Midoriya's notebooks.
Todoroki felt tears well in his eyes.
He turned around to spot the invisible girl. She was in long pajama pants and a t-shirt. Todoroki could hear her crying.
"This one is for you." He says monotonously before handing her the packet of paper.
The class began to understand what was vaguely happening. They each searched for their own packet and began reading like zombies.
By the end, nearly all of them were brought to tears, some sobbing, others staring blankly. None of them took the news well. It was quite a depressing sight to see. An unfortunate sight to see.
And not even all the packets were picked up. There were leftover papers for all the teachers plus some regular pros. Aizawa was one, Midnight and Manuel were too.
Todoroki looked around at all the faces and then tucked his packet closer to his chest. He looked over the rest of the packets one more time, tears in his eyes.

Bakugo's packet isn't here. Maybe he sent it somewhere else.
Suddenly there was a big crash coming from the kitchen. Shuffling was heard before a sliding noise cut through the silence. The class was slightly startled and confused.
Should we check it out?
Deciding in the positive, a few members, such as Shoji, Tokoyami, Kaminari, Jiro, Momo and Todoroki began making their way towards the sounds.
Slowly entering the kitchen, they are met with the sight of multiple types of food on the table. There was katsudon, spicy curry, soba (hot and cold), hamburgers, onigiri, and several types of sushi. It was a feast, holding many of the class favorites.
Momo screamed at the open window, and the people inside the kitchen turned to look out only to find a flash of green running by.
Was that...Midoriya?
Todoroki ran to the window to lean out. After a few seconds he spotted the greenette.
"C-call Bakugo...and Aizawa."
By this time, the rest of the class was in the kitchen and staring in awe of the food on the table. Majority were mildly confused though.
Todoroki hopped from the window, in an attempt to catch Midoriya. He managed to get close enough to see Midoriya's face when he turned his head to look back.
Heterochromatic eyes glanced into dull green ones. Todoroki fumbled, tripping slightly.
This small falter in getting up allowed the greenette to run away and around a corner. Was that really Midoriya?
He didn't look like Midoriya.
Todoroki stood straight, facing the direction of his friend. Friend? Friend. He began to disassociate and lose track of time but was brought out of his trance by a hand to his shoulder.
Todoroki jumped and flinched slightly before turning around to address the owner of the meaty hand.
Iida was behind him, mouthing words.
Well he was actually talking aloud but Todoroki didn't hear him. Slowly Iida guided the hetero-boy back to the dorms and sat him down at a table.
By that time, the class was settled and at the dining room table. The table filled with food, food that the 1-A students hadn't had in a while. Food that was made by the secret--though not so secret--chef. It was all their favorites, however someone was missing.
They stared at the food before seeing Aizawa run in. Apparently a student had texted or called him and the hero came rushing inside.
Aizawa took in the somber class and then the food. He even saw his favorite sushi on a platter in the center. He too had figured out that Midoriya was making the meals and snacks after he was landed in the hospital and the food stopped.

Now it seemed like a message.
"What exactly happened?" Asked Aizawa sternly, he had been in a meeting when getting the text. He was running off of coffee and adrenaline.
He was determined to find his student, but scared and still spooked by all the other recent findings.
Nighteye didn't help.
At all.
"Well sir, we found packets and then when we heard a sound from the kitchen, so some fellow classmates began to investigate. They spotted Midoriya running from the window and the food on the table. We don't know what to do, sir." Iida stated, twitching his hands ever so slightly.
Aizawa rubbed his chin, and made his way to sit down at one of the chairs.
He took one of the last three near the end of the table and sat down. To his left was Midoriya's old seat. And across from that was Bakugo's.
No matter how hard the rivals fought, they always sat near, across, or next to each other. Deep down they would always be childhood friends--even though Bakugo rarely shows any form of affection.
The class sat in silence before Aizawa came to a conclusion. "He made the food for a reason so we should eat it. It would be illogical to waste it. You all need nutrients and then a good rest, I'd suggest you pick whatever you want and then relax in the common rooms as a class. I'll text some pros to find him--though we have intel that he won't get caught."
The class held their breath for a moment before resigning to the final decision of their teacher. The latter pulled his phone out and began texting the teacher chat that Nezu and set up for the case of Midoriya.
Slowly, plates were picked up and the hot food was distributed. A lot of the kids chose to pick their favorite meals--Izuku made their favorite foods always seem so special and unique--as well as the katsudon.
There was something about the katsudon being Midoriya's favorite yet sitting on the table untouched.
It seemed wrong.
It seemed despondent.
So they each took a small piece from that dish too.
Except for Todoroki who was still staring at his hands in his lap, unmoving.
By the time they were a fourth of the way done eating, the door burst open and a disheveled Bakugo came hurtling in.
"Whereishe?" He blurted. His eyes were bloodshot, face blotchy, hair messed up beyond belief.
He looked thinner too.
Unnaturally thin for the workaholic teen. He was clad in red plaid pajama pants and a black shirt, holding his newly acquired plush gauntlets.
"Bakugo, sit down. I'll explain when you come to stay a while." Aizawa said, covering his shaky voice with a cough at the end.
Bakugo-- after being found on the porch at six in the morning, being transported back to his room and getting a message about Izuku being spotted at UA and practically bolting here--was too tired to argue. So he promptly made his way over and sat in his seat. Gauntlet pressed against his chest, like it would fly away if he let it go.
Sero noticed this but kept quiet. Jiro made no offhanded comment.
The explosive teen rubbed his eyes, getting the sleep out before looking around once more. Noticing the food, he scans the table. The katsudon was half gone, and there were large bowls, pans and plates of about twenty dishes.
Midoriya had been here a while. Probably after he left my house.
He saw curry on the table and his throat felt tight. Slowly he moved his shaking hand over to the bowl. The spoon clattered against the bowl as he picked it up with his free hand, causing a shaky noise to be the prominent sound in the room.
He tried to swallow and release the sadness clogged in his throat but to no avail. His eyes were watering once more as he stared down into the bowl of spicy curry. He could see the chopped peppers sitting on top of the dish--made just how he liked it.
Number three complete.
"As you can see, Midoriya was here and we were able to spot him. However he managed to run away and as of this moment the pros are looking for him."
Bakugo nods at his teacher, eyes still deeply fixed on the spicy curry.
This is probably the last meal I'll ever eat that Izu made.
Bakugo didn't know for sure that Midoriya was going to leave, but deep down something whispered that this was like a goodbye of sorts.
The class eyed the ash blonde and watched as he slowly began eating the curry, tears falling down his cheeks.
A few seconds of silence before sporadic shallow breaths were heard. Hagakure spun around to spot where the heart wrenching sound was coming from.
She gasped, "To--Todoroki!"
Everyone snapped their heads to the broken teen. His hands were pulling at his two-toned hair, eyes blown wide, body shaking unnaturally, and breathing at a concerningly fast rate.
"N-no! Not--it can't--Midoriya can't--can't--I didn't say good...goodbye y--yet." He mumbled out through sobs.
Apparently Bakugo and Todoroki were able to piece together the situation's implications.

The Complete Alchemyst book 1
You've heard of superheroes, seen them flying across the sky, destroying great swaths of cities and ending countless innocent lives in order to defeat great evils and world-spanning threats and sell lots of sponsorships and merchandising opportunities. This is a story about the guy that is not those heroes. A supervillain in a world where making the right friends and political contacts is what separates the good guys from the bad. The Alchemyst is a story about a normal guy in a crazy world that spends his time trying to follow his dreams and conscience, working on new potions, thinking about girls, and lifting heavy shit, while trying to stay under the radar of the superheroes, supervillains, and governments that want what he can do. And occasionally turning them into makeshift melee weapons. If you enjoy The Boys, the Aberrant roleplaying game, Mystery Men, Trashy romances, Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, or SAW you may enjoy this book. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people.
