"...Midoriya." Whispered Shinso. He swore he was seeing a ghost.
Modoriya turned around, looking at the purple haired teen. His eyes were so dull, face purple and deathly pale. He looked as if he would pass out at any moment--he looked as if he was on the brink of death.
And he was.
Breathing was hard, not to mention he couldn't talk anymore because his throat was damaged and collapsing. His airway was limited.
Shinso looked terrified as Midoriya attempted to smile with his lips, before turning back to the edge of the roof.
Shinso had needed a break from seeing only the walls of his bedroom but when he came here, he saw the missing teen.
Said missing teen patted the spot next to him, silently telling Shinso to sit next to him. The taller complied and sat next to him.
The silence was killing Shinso, who naturally did well in the brink of silence yet this time it was bugging him.
Why wasn't Midoriya talking?
Slowly, Midoriya picked up a needle and lighter from his pocket.
The lighter was black and had stripes on it--giving resemblance to Sero's quirk. He set the box alight and placed the needle over it.
The flames licked the needle until it turned a vibrant orange. Then he presumed to shake the needle, cooling it off.
He put the lighter down and held out his right hand. Shinso didn't know what he wanted but trusted the greenette, and gave the greenette his hand.
It was a fifty-fifty chance that this was not what Midoriya wanted. But the latter just smiled and softly poked Shinso's finger with the needle.
Shinso was confused, this felt as unnatural as a dream. Was he even there right now? Did he somehow get high?
Is he imagining everything?

Once a droplet of blood pooled around the needle, Midoriya removed it and brought it to his finger, poking his pointer as well.
Shinso was disturbed. What is happening? Are we making an oath? For what?
He had been spending a lot of mourning with Tokoyami, Todroki, Jiro and Monoma. He picked up on a few habits to say the least.
Slowly, Midoriy placed his injured hand on Shinso's. He held the purple haired teens hand and rubbed their pointer fingers together, swapping their blood.
Two.
"My quirk is passed by passing DNA! If I will it and actively give someone my DNA, then they can gain the quirk and I will slowly let the fire leave me--at that point it will be your turn to become a hero!"
He still has the quirk, he still has the DNA. He just couldn't feel it and needed to pass it down once more.
Midoriya leaned over and handed Shinso a packet and Notebook Number Fourteen: Quirk Notes on OFA.
Shinso studied Midoriya's features before looking back at the packet.
Midoriya nodded, happy with everything he had done. He accomplished his goal.
He felt slightly less useless. And now it was the end.
Shinso began crying as he read the packet about his original quirk--how amazing it is and all its information.
Someone loved him and his quirk. Not his quirk over him. Not him over his quirk. Midoriya loved them both. And he wrote only positive things for both of them.
Shinso felt loved, for once he was truly loved and he felt seen.
How did Midoriya know how hard it was for a kid who was coined as a villain at a young age for the sole reason of having a mental quirk?
Shinso turned to the notebook, skimming through.

Midoriya understood how much he hated his birth quirk. He knew his vow to never use it in case he hurt someone. Midoriya understood his problems, and decided to pass on One for All to continue to help Shinso be a hero.
Shinso wanted to be a hero more than anything. And now he had a quirk that could give him a new start, a happier start. He also had a biological quirk that he could use--as stated in the packet. Midoriya wanted the teen to use his birth quirk when necessary--as it was, once again, very useful and amazing. But One for All would always be in Shinso when he desired to use it.
After skimming some of the packet, Shinso felt a heavy weight drop on his shoulder.
"M-midoriya? N--no! Nonono! Wake--get up!" Shinso frantically shook the teen before regaining his senses and checking a pulse.
Nothing.
But Shinso ripped his phone from his back pocket and dialed a number. He doesn't remember which number, just that he was a mess when calling it. He stumbled on words before hurriedly yelling for the other line to grab Recovery Girl, and an ambulance.
Midoriya needed to make it.
He just had to.
Shinso felt horrible--if he had registered sooner that this wasn't a dream, he could have saved the teen before it was too late.
But if Shinso had done that, Midoriya would not have died seeing Shinso's tears of joy and happiness when he read the packet.
One.
That was the best part of Midoriya's life.

Voidsong (A NaNoWriMo 2018 winner)
Synopsys: The Empire thought humanity died, and forgot all about it. The Empire is mistaken. A Note From the Author: This story was written as a National Novel Writing Month 2018 entrant. As such, its entire 50,000+ word length was written between November 1, 2018 and November 31, 2018. Overall, I would consider this no more than a polished draft. In that vein, the chapters have no names, only numbers. Special thanks to Chronus on youtube for answering my questions on NATO radio procedures! My Apologies to the Finnish Language, which I have abused in (probably) unforgivable ways to create Twisted Empire names. If anyone is interested, break the names up by commas and toss them into your favorite translation program (I used Google Translate, and tried to avoid umlauts and other accents) for some semi bilingual boni. If I got something wrong (and I know I did… somewhere…) let me know over on reddit and I will see what I can do to fix the mistake. Lyrics, where included, are cited in footnotes.

Our main character (a cat) adventures with his friends and encounters many situations.Author's Note:Hello. This is my first story. Though I hesitate to call it such. It is supposed to be relatively relaxed for the most part. Any constructive criticism is welcome. My updates will be slower than a snail and my chapters are relatively short so deal with it please and don't murder me. Romance should come in later. Thank you~
