《THE FORGOTTEN DAD》CHAPTER 27

Jennie had her legs crossed and was tapping her Ray-Bans on the desk, her hair was even neater than usual and her dress was new. Looking her like this, no one ever knows she has problems in her marriage. She is still wandering about her conversation with Jungkook on the other day. She's afraid. Afraid if he will ever letting her go and get back to his ex-wife again. Envy was a good way of saying how she felt about that girl; forever prima donna in Jungkook's heart while her just a plain woman.
I hated her with a huge passion. Her presence buzzed around me like a fly that I could not swat. Everyone loves her. She had everything. And there was me. A boring old model with no special qualities.
Jennie curled her long fingers around the phone. Soon confirmation would come. It's been four days since Jungkook was disappearing himself and she has no idea where her husband might go. She also couldn't reach his personal assistant, Kino who always 24/7 with him. She even sent his bodyguards to trace him at his condo, his office and even JK Castle but there's no single sign of him ever stepping to those places.
She suddenly feels worried about him. What happened to him until he suddenly became out of reach? Why it's so hard to contact him these days? Did he get himself into some kind problems that she barely knows? What kind of secret he tried to avoid from telling her?
Not long after, her secretary came into her office. Irene must get herself some information about Jungkook now. She quickly pulled out a chair and stood up. Her right hand keep pressing the phone, agitated waiting for some news.
"Did you hear about Jungkook yet?" she began asking Irene, looking concerned. She looked at her who nodding towards her question. Oh god! Where he is now?
"The bodyguards just informed me Mr. Jeon had seen back to his condo this morning along with Mr. Kino," she lets out a sign of relief. Thank god he already back home.
Jennie immediately grabbed her handbag and began to walk out from her office. She needs to see him now and asking him by herself about where he had been disappearing without leaving her any message.
"But Mrs. Jeon," Irene suddenly came blocking her way. She looked extremely nervous which make her curious on what she wanted to say more.
"What?!"
"He seemed very unwell, maam,"
"What do you mean? Is he some kind of sick?" she looked at Irene who shook her head in frightened when Jennie suddenly raises her voice.
"Mr. Jeon... Mr. Jeon... He got shot by a hired assassin after meeting his ex-wife,"
Was she misheard what Irene just told her? Someone wanted to kill Jungkook? She daren't move, she daren't even breathe, and she's frozen to the spot. Jennie can feel her heart pounding in her chest. Her heart beats so strong she think her chest will burst but always it beats only for him, her soul mate, her love. What else is a heart for? For without love, why would she need a pump?
Right before she could ask Irene furthermore about Jungkook's incident, her secretary immediately passed her a file. Without any hesitation, she reached it from her and found some images as she opened the first page.
"Who are they? Are they the killer?" asked her straight away.
"We don't know about it yet as they still under investigation,"
"Let me know once it done! I won't let them off easily!" said her as she's holding a grudge towards the unknown stranger who wanted to kill her husband. Just wait what she could offer for them later.

As she reached at Jungkook's condo, there were four JK Group's bodyguards standing outside. Jungkook must pay them to secure him after what had happened to him. Without doubting anything, Jennie walked passing them as usual until one of his men blocking her way. How dare he?!
"I'm sorry but Mr. Jeon doesn't want to meet anyone today," said one of those bodyguards with their hands shielding the front door. Jennie's face turned into red, suppressing it into rage. She couldn't hold her anger anymore when someone treated her this way. Someone who clearly are not in the same level as her.
"Do you know who I am?! I am his wife! I am your President's wife and that's mean I also your boss!" she shouted to them and trying to shove their hands away.
"I'm sorry Mrs. Jeon but even you cannot enter this house. That's an order from President,"
"Do not ever testing my patience. I could fire all of you in just a blink! Now move!" she yelled as she pushed those bodyguards aside and opened the door. Now they started to show her their respect? She smirked looking at those guys before closing the door. This is Jennie Kim, the President of JK Group's wife and no one will ever could blocking her way.
As soon she turned back, she could hear a kid's laughter all the way from living room. A kid? In this house? She quickly fastening her move to the living room only to see a girl was playing with Kino. She never meets this girl before but she knew she's probably Jungkook's daughter, Eva. Why she even here? Why Jungkook brought her here even though his condition is very weak now?
She pressed her handbag while looking at that small girl who tends to be happy playing around in this house. How dare this cheap woman's child could ever being in this house meanwhile Jennie as his wife hardly passes the bodyguards outside.
"Where is him right now!" Jennie raised her voice making both of them surprised seeing her sudden appearance in this house. She couldn't stand looking at Eva, it makes her remind of her mother. Of what her mother had done to her before. Jungkook left her just to be with her mother and because of that child too!
She quickly moved her steps towards his bedroom. She needs to see him right now! As soon as she opened the door, she saw Jungkook trying to put himself into his cloth.
"What are you doing here?" said Jungkook, seems so shock seeing her in his room. But her eyes slowly fall down to his lower abdomen. There's a bandage still covered with his blood. Its must be a bullet wound. Her eyes showed the kind of gentle concern Jungkook used to have upon her.
"Are you okay? I heard someone wanted to kill you?" She laid her hand lightly on his shoulder, and left her hand there for a moment and spoke with such a soft voice. She saw him lets out his usual offended smirking towards her before putting her hands off slowly from him.
"I want to ask you a question, Jennie," said him, trying to distance himself from her.
"Sure. Anything. What it is, Jungkook? What do you want to know?" replied her still in her sweet soft voice. She looked at him with a concern stare.
"Do you love me for real?" she looked at him, surprised with his question. But his warm gaze towards her never left from his face. Is he already changed now? Is Jungkook already realize of her love towards him now? Is Jungkook would accept her heart back and love her as he used to before?

She quickly nodded.
"Of course, Jungkook. I love you so much. I love you still even we broke up," she walked closed to him. She wanted to hug him. She wanted to burst her tears on his chest. She really missed to be in his arms again. But then before she could open her arms for him, Jungkook quickly pushed her away, making her fall in a soft bounce on the bed. She saw him walked in pain towards to his desk.
"If you love me then, why would you want to kill me?" his second question even left her in shock. Jungkook just accused her as a responsible person behind all of this. Why would she even want to kill her own husband? She loves him!
"What? You thought I'm the one who send those assassins? No, Jungkook! It is not me!" She quickly stood up from the bed and went to his place. She needs to convince him that she's not the one who plan this.
"No one would admit their wrongdoings no matter how big their sin was. Am I right, Mrs. Jeon?" he gave her a smirk before passing a file. That file was the same exact file Irene gave her a moment ago.
"I don't know who are they, Jungkook. I'm not joking right now. It isn't me!" she tried to convince him again.
"I know who they are. Those assassins are from Park Legacy. I don't know who the hell Park Legacy is but I know you also involved in trying to kill me,"
As soon she heard Park Legacy from Jungkook, her eyes narrowed widely. Park Chanyeol! He tried to kill Jungkook after all of this? After she told him that she can't give JK Motors towards him! This bastard! She won't let him go easily not after what he had done!
"I don't even know too who is Park Legacy!"
"LIAR! You thought I don't know about your activities? Your daily schedule? Don't try to challenge me, Jennie! I know you always went to Park Legacy building! Always!" She surprised when Jungkook brave enough to raise his voice on her. She tried to hold her tears, her anger, her mixed feelings when her own husband didn't believe her.
Did he ever wonder why she even there? At Park Legacy? She tried to save JK Group from been taking away from him. But what did she get in return? A doubtful relationship. A ruined marriage. A hate gaze from the one she love so dearly.
"Our marriage is over, Jennie. I don't care any more about what you want to do with JK Group. You wanted to take it away from me, then proceed whatever you feel right. I will send my lawyer for our divorcement later," said him slowly and looking away from her. He looked so tired and disappointed. And most importantly, he indeed seems like he doesn't care anymore about her. He doesn't even see her as a menace towards him, towards JK Group. He for sure seems like already giving up. A single bead of tear falling down from her eyes, still looking at him pitiful.
Why you're so cold, Jungkook?
"Appa!"
She turned her head at the door only to see Eva running towards Jungkook before hugging him. He drastically changed his expression from the cold heartless guy to soft one. A smile appears on his face.
"Why you like to call me 'Appa' lately? You don't like Mr. Candyman anymore?" said him while tickling his daughter. He looked so happy with his daughter and Jennie envied every single thing what he had but without her by his side.
"No. Uncle Kino said that we must call a kind man like you 'Appa'."
Did he ever notice Jennie was still here in his room?
You said you loved me and I took you at your word. You said I was your soul mate and over the years you became part of the bedrock of my personality. Then one sunny day, under a cloudless sky, you announced you were in love with someone else. It would have been kinder to kill me. Now I must be this person filled with a bitterness I can't control. She is to be the mother of your child, you want your daughter to call her "mommy." The girl you met years ago under that apple blossom tree, the one with the big eyes and the bigger heart who was consumed by a hatred she never knew could take root when you once left her. But here it is. Here we are. I am yesterday's news and she is the new bell of the ball again.
"Really? Do you call Uncle Kino 'Appa' too?"
She still stood like a mannequin in front of them, witnessing every sweet moment between him and his daughter. Little did he know, she was breaking in the inside.
Eva nodded her head before running away from this room, leaving Jungkook and her again.
"Yah Eva! You should not call him 'Appa'! I'm the only one your Appa. Aish, this kid," said him to Eva who was laughing outside of the room. Jennie looked at him who tried to wake up from the bed, still bearing his pain from the gunshot. He seemed like to run for his daughter. The type of guy who would do anything for his child.
"Why you're still here?" said him to her coldly before leaving her alone and went out from his room.
Heart break is a funny thing. We all know it's going to happen, yet we're never prepared for it. We underestimate it's power. It's like giving a murder a gun, and expecting not to be killed. Why are we never ready for it? Because we're in denial. We believe it won't happen. We believe the murderer will not kill us. We believe if we give him our hearts he will not crush it. Hearts shouldn't be crushed. They should be cherished and protected. I wish someone would have told you that. I wish you could've known. I wish you would have cherished and protected my heart.
"Where is Park Chanyeol right now?" she asked Park Chanyeol's PA straight away after he picked up the call. She literally needs to see him and clear this thing off before Jungkook could divorce her. Why the hell he wants to kill Jungkook anyways?
"Raymond Hotel,"
Now it does prove her everything! Mark Tuan and Park Chanyeol. So both of them were trying to kill Jungkook and accused her as murderer. Not that fast! She ain't fool enough to been played like this!
༻♡༺
She tossed her handbag on to the sofa. She couldn't handle this headache, this sudden news, the upcoming divorcement and Park Chanyeol's betrayal! Why he didn't admit that he's the one who plan to kill Jungkook! There's must be something between him and Mark Tuan for sure. Both of them looked like they were hiding something important but she literally have no idea at all.
"Irene! Come to my office right now!" said her before hung up the call. She needs to do something! She can't be defeated by those jerks! She must come out with a new plan before anything could ruin her marriage with Jungkook.
"Investigate all things that related between Park Chanyeol and Mark Tuan. I want to know everything! Send it to my home tonight!" she began to yell towards Irene. It was very distressing today!
Irene nodded as she gets what her boss wanted.
"Mrs. Jeon. There's someone want to see you now,"
"Bring him in," replied her without thinking twice. She couldn't even think straight and stressing her mind again to know who wants to meet her right now. Irene nodded before went out from her office. Not long after that, the door was knocked by someone from the outside.
said her in a rude way. Well she didn't care anymore to show her good manners. It's just wasting of her time and it's literally can't fix her problems. So what's the point?
"Well hello, Jennie Kim. How are you?" she lifted her head straight away when he heard a familiar voice coming. He is Park Jinyoung, his ex-boyfriend, the one who broke her heart a long time ago. Why he came to her office today? It was so much unexpected, really!
"What are you doing here?" she quickly stood up from her chair. What a surprise to see you here, Park Jinyoung!
"Why? I could not pay a visit to your office?" said him, letting a small laugh.
"No! I don't want to see you here!" Jennie crossed her arms and looked away from him. Well it's too heartbroken to exchange gaze with him right now.
"Oh cmon' Jennie! Don't be too arrogant,"
"You call me arrogant. Why don't you step up and prove me wrong. Prove you're better. What's that? I'm mean. That's just what losers say. You hate me for being successful, I despise you for not trying to be more than a tramp betrayer. What? Too harsh? Take a look in the mirror and then remember how good I looked. And no, looks aren't everything. I aced everything I could, everything I want, in fact, I'm not sure you and I are even the same species,"
This is she ever wanted to spit to him if she ever could meet him again. The thing that she kept it bottled up inside for over years.
I always thought there was something romantic about fighting for someone. About winning them back. Eventual happiness. But as I stand here with stones in my chest, where hope used to lie... I have come to realize that there is nothing lovely about having to continuosly convince someone to love you back.
"I didn't have any choice, Jennie. Dad wanted me..."
"I don't care what you say, so don't even speak," she quickly cut off Park Jinyoung from speak any further. She is not in the state of wanting to listen his excuses right now. She realized him staring at him with his pitiful look. But she literally doesn't want to buy it.
I'm better than you. I am. Don't look at me like that, like you think you can even try.
"I still love you, Jen."
"Oh stop it!"
The worst thing you can do to yourself is stay in a toxic relationship hoping that after each 'I'm sorry', things will get better. If you keep telling yourself 'I'll be able to change him. He just needs more time," you're lying to yourself. He needs time for what? He needs more time to see what a great woman you are? He needs more time to realize the way he treats you like garbage isn't right? Stop making excuses for him. You can't keep staying, hoping that he'll change his ways, because he'll never change until he chooses to change. You'll end up losing valuable years of your life for a relationship that wasn't worth your love.
"I still do. You're the only woman I love for long,"
"I can't do this anymore," she said with a sigh.
"I've given you everything. I kept hoping I could convince you that I was worth it, worth more than every women your dad compared me to, but I can't."
She looked him in the eye, her gaze a mixture of tears and steel.
"I told myself that you'd come around, but you haven't. And deep down, I knew that you wouldn't, but I kept trying. I thought that it would be to hard to give up on you."
She takes a deep breath.

The Pugilist
Vincent Roy Salazar has never been your common folk. He climbed any mountain he found in front of him. From a bright young student to an accomplished professor, his life can be described as a continuous race to the top of his chosen fields. Patriarch of a loving family, proud father of three already grown siblings, Roy realizes that his life is the perfect picture of what the average man strives for, and for that he is truly grateful. But happiness is a difficult-to-reach goal, and as he lies in a pool of his own blood, his fist cracked, a young lady crying while cradling his head, he remembers what really gave sense to his youth. Pure Unadulterated Violence The Pugilist wants to be a different take on isekai shenanigans. What would happen if instead of a moronic idiot, a depressed high schooler, or a wannabe hero the one to get his do-over is a fully grown man that has already seen what life has to offer in full? Someone who conformed himself to society, but has always craved something different? In a journey of self-discovery, academy building, god-slaying, and absolutely no harem we follow someone driven by logic, experience, and a smokey goal: to fuck shit up, have fun while doing so, and maybe resume his career as a professor for those strange, magic-wielding, unstable youths that seems to never get enough of his presence. Guys, a few notes, first of all, this is my first time writing long-form fiction. I have a background in psychology, and my main income comes from writing dreary financial articles on SEO blogs. But after a bad break-up, and finding myself falling asleep only while thinking of deus ex machina for stories on this site (and for APGTE) I decided to try my hand at this web series thingy. I'm confident in my grammar, but that's it. Everything else will be a first time, and as such any constructive criticism is encouraged and gratefully accepted. Now, on the story. Romance will be introduced once my little heart is mended, if you are scared of LGBT you may be turned off by the fact that I plan to have no taboo of any kind in my universe, but I won't ever write detailed sex scenes for any characters so don't worry too much. The litRPG part is very light and will take place later in the novel, but it's a key component nonetheless, for world-building and storyline reasons. I already have everything big planned out, so I won't drop it outta nowhere, and I hope you won't find too many flaws in how things pan out. I plan to make The Pugilist an interactive story, with secondary characters created by my audience and introduced after tweaks and careful planning. The main reason I'm writing this is that I want to build a community for myself in this time of isolation. I discovered that exercising, playing the piano or video games means jack-shit when you are utterly miserable, so I hope to give some value to my readers in exchange for praise, fame, money, and companionship. I give full props to anyone who has read this whole mess of a synopsis: I hope to not disappoint too much, now let's write some more steaming garbage that will be in dire need of editing later on.

Most of it is already written, but I'm going through the chapters and editing the shit out of them. This story is NOT a Lit-RPG, so no blue screens or anything of the sort. It is just fast-paced fiction with slight cultivation elements. Updates are bi-daily (so every 2 days), and chapters are 1500-3000 words. As always, feedback is more than welcome. Why are you still reading the synopsis? You have already decided. Go ahead, give this story a shot. It's worth it.
