《The Poetry Collection》The Bee Holder

I held that bee inside my palms

Felt it's wings beat my skin like drums

It buzzed and buzzed as I looked around

But even still, there was no beauty to be found

The colors were the same and so was the smell

Nothing was bad, it was just well.

The grass smelled like grass and the sky was still blue

But I thought I was missing something; the world was askew.

It was supposed to be beautiful, but nothing changed

I felt as though I was wrong or estranged

Because they said I'd see beauty, something new

But I'm beginning to think that wasn't true.

The bee didn't bring me beauty or freshness

And the things I saw just seemed restless.

They told me beauty was in the eye of the bee holder,

But I think those liars had chips on their shoulders.
