changed the cover for this story what do you all think?
Jacob Kowalski is lying on the floor of his blown up apartment, Newt's battered brown case sitting amongst the rubble. Down in the street below Tina, Newt and Evelyn are hurrying along towards the incident.
They come to a halt in a crowd of upset people. A distracted Tina goes on about how stupid and irresponsible he is, and as she does this she doesn't see him start through the crowd towards the apartment buildings where the incident took place.
Evelyn does however, and follows after him, they both run up the metal steps and inside the destroyed room of Jacob Kowalski.
"Is he okay Evelyn questions as she sees the red bite mark on Jacob's neck.
"oh yes should be fine"
Evelyn however isn't fooled "really? Just fine?" Newt turns round giving her a sheepish smile.
"well I guess I haven't seen a reaction as bad as this so far...."
Before she can muster a reply he grabs a hold of his case and starts to fix the whole apartment with a swish of his wand.
She sits on the bed watching the apartment fix itself, she admires the way he shows so much passion and love for his beasts that she can't help but stare as he reunites with his case.
He soon turns to look back at her and both are now staring at each other, but not in an awkward way it's comforting and warm but is soon broken by Tina walking in and rushing over to Jacob.
"His necks bleeding, he's hurt! Wake up Mr No-Maj.." Newt begins to slowly exit, he looks back at Evelyn sitting on the bed looking up at him he can't tell if she wants him to stay or not.

But he takes hold of her hand much to her surprise, gently pulling her towards him but his attempt to be stealthy soon fails as Evelyn trips up on a loose floor board bracing herself for the hard floor... but it doesn't come for Newt let's go of his case and catches her in his arms.
She's not sure how long they stay in this position but she stands up suddenly as Tina coughs to alert her presence again a puzzled look on her face. "What are you two doing?" She questions.
"Uh I was just..." Tina dramatically sighs "Never-mind we need to help this man."
Just as she says this a murtlap jumps out from behind Jacob as Tina screams, as it latches onto her arm, Newt manages to grab a hold of it shoving it into his case as quickly as possible smiling nervously at the two girls.
He then gets out his wand with a sigh of relief and points it towards him "You can't wipe his memory now! He's a witness" Tina exclaims to a very much confused Newt.
"I'm sorry - you yelled at me the length of New York for not doing it in the first place...." Tina blinks slowly trying to form a sentence.
"He's hurt he looks ill" although she still looks unsure of what she's saying.
"He'll be fine. Murtlap bites aren't that serious." To which a look of disbelief crosses Tina's face, Evelyn can't help but giggle at how worked up Tina is getting to which she receives a annoyed look from Tina.
"I admit this is a slightly more severe reaction than I've seen but if it was really serious- he'd have- well um the first symptom would be flames out of if his uh-anus."

This cause Jacob to look even more terrified "It'll last forty-eight hours at most, uh I can keep him if you want me to-" Evelyn giggles again finding herself not able to control it.
"This isn't a laughing matter Eve!" Tina exclaims turning to Newt.
"We do not keep them! Mr Scamander do you know anything about the wizarding community in American?"
"I do know a few things actually. I know you have rather backwards laws about relations with non magic people . That you're not meant to befriend them and you can't marry them, which does seem mildly absurd to me."
Jacob follows the conversation looking more and more confused by the minute.
"Who's going to marry him?? You're both coming with me-" Tina starts to say before she's interrupted.
"I don't see why I need to come with you" Newt says but he doesn't get a reply for Tina is trying her best to lift the somehow still partially conscious Jacob.
"Help me!" Tina manages to say as she tries her hardest to lift him.
Newt goes over to help whilst Evelyn takes a hold of his case giving him a reassuring smile to show she's not going to take it.
"I'm dreaming right? I'm tired I never went to the bank.. this is a big nightmare right?" Jacob mutters.
"For the both of us Mr Kowalski" for a moment Evelyn believed they were going to disapparate with out her she grips onto the case and just as Tina starts to Disapparate, Newt reaches out and grabs Evelyn by the hand as they all go together.

Rifts in the Weave
Jes is a normal twenty-something American dealing with a 2020 that just keeps getting worse. She's driving home for the latest in that series of awful events when she runs headlong into something unexpected. Nearly 400 years ago, the continent of Charan was embroiled in a terrible war. To stop the war, its inhabitants literally tore a hole in the fabric that holds their world together. The Weave, the magical lines of reality that shape every part of Charan, were torn by great magics. Those magics left a hole in the weave that has since consumed nearly a third of the continent, creating a vast and magicless Outalnds. The Wild Weaves at the edges of the Outlands are a dangerous place. Archmagi, pushed to the edge by a pursuing army, enter the Wild Weaves and seek to repair the very fabric of reality. Howard and Clark Franklin, returning soldiers from the Civil War, come back to a home that isn't quite theirs anymore. Restless, they depart again for the West, a new frontier. They get more than they bargained for when one moment they're crossing the prairie and the next they're stepping into a whole new world. As the unraveling edges of reality fray, two worlds may never be the same. >

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
