Chapter Seven; Evenesco.
When they found Jacob he was climbing up a flaming tree, the Erumpent was trying to knock it down with its horn. Jacob yelled in panic while Newt shouted at him telling him what he needed to do, Jacob nodded hesitantly before jumping onto the ground and took off running again.
'What is he doing?' Eden asked Newt, he was working on unlatching his case which sat on the frozen pond they were standing on.
'He's leading the Erumpent into my case.' He said running in the opposite direction.
Eden didn't know what to do, Newt was running one way while Jacob and the Erumpent had run in another. She watched all of them, she wanted to see when she could help, if there would be a good time to help. After what felt like forever she took out her wand and began running out father in front of the case, she saw Jacob and the Erumpent still running but this time towards her.
'Eden!' Newt yelled, She turned around to see Newt getting up off the ground, he had fallen.
When she turned back around Jacob whizzed by her and the Erumpent was hot on his trail. She heard Newt screaming her name when the Erumpent was just in front of her, its horn bared and ready to skewer her.
'Evenesco!' Newt screamed, Eden didn't have time to scream as a bright shot of blue light shot out and threw her back. She yelled and curled herself up into a ball waiting for impact, she had been hit with a spell that she did not know of. Her body ached as the sight of Central Park disappeared into a void of black taking Newt and Jacob along with it.
•••
Her back ached as she landing on something, it felt like a mattress. She blinked a few times opening her eyes, a bright white ceiling welcomed her. How did she end up here?

She pulled herself up and was comforted by her own room, she was back at her flat. Eden jumped up off of her bed, she felt around looking for her wand. Once she found it and made her way out to the living room, she was looking for Newt and Jacob. Why was it just her who disappeared? What had Newt done?
She grunted throwing open her front door and running down the hallways, she threw herself outside and began running down the streets of Newt York towards Central Park. Eden thought about trying to Apparate but she didn't want to hurt herself, she didn't want to take that chance.
She ran down random streets, all covered with a thick sheet of darkness. Eden hated walking alone in the dark, you never knew what could be lurking in the shadows. A breeze sent shivers up Eden's spine, she held her sweater closer to her body.
She saw the bridge first, a gapping hole still stood out among everything else. Eden wondered what the Muggles would think caused it, perhaps an earthquake? She ran underneath and made her way to the frozen pond, she couldn't hear any voices. When she arrived the frozen pond was empty, the only think remained was the indents of their feet when they chased after Jacob. Eden panicked running around Central Park, they had to be there. After thirty minutes of searching Eden made her way to Tina's flat, maybe she'd know what to do.
The closer Eden got to Tina's flat the more worried she got, she just felt like something was wrong. The city was to quiet, it felt as if everything and everyone were frozen in time. She also worried about Jacob and Newt, Jacob who she now considered a friend and Newt who she never thought she'd see again. Eden wasn't ready to lose Newt again, if she did she'd probably never know what happened to him.

Tina's building was quiet, nobody had their lights on. Eden raced up the stairs not caring how loud she was, it was early in the morning anyways, some people liked early wake up calls. When she reached the door she banged on it multiple times, Queenie answered the door wearing her pyjamas.
'Where's Tina?' Eden asked before Queenie could say anything, Queenie only opened the door wider for Eden to enter.
'She's in her room.' Queenie said, 'What are you doing here, Eden? It's nearly four in the morning.'
Eden ignored her and raced down the hallway towards the closed door towards the end. She politely knocked a few times but when she got no response she barged in. Queenie rushed in after her, almost knocking Eden over.
'She's not here!' Eden said staring at her unmade bed, the window was open above a desk.
Eden could feel Queenie breathe against her neck, she turned around to see Queenie look frightened.
'She must of went down the fire escape.' Eden added, 'Or she apparated.'
Queenie looked at Eden before dashing out of the room, Eden followed her to the kitchen where Queenie was pulling on her pink coat. She frowned at Eden before walking out the door, Eden raced after her slamming the door behind them.
'Where do you think she went?' Eden asked Queenie as soon as they were outside.
'Looking for those men she brought home earlier!' Queenie fumed, Eden was frightened, she had never seen Queenie angry before.
'I told Newt she'd be angry him and Jacob left.'
'She called me in after she saw they weren't there, I told her to leave it until morning so she could get some sleep.' Queenie sighed shaking her head, 'Tina has been so stressed lately trying to get her job back.'
Eden frowned, that guilty feeling in her stomach managed to comeback.
'Where are we going to start looking?'
'The Ministry of Magic!' Queenie replied, 'It's been a few hours so she must of found them, I guarantee she's brought them there.'
Eden nodded as Queenie stopped in the middle of the road before grabbing Eden by the arm. Eden yelped when she saw Queenie was trying to apparate, before she could say something she felt the uncomfortable feeling of the ground giving in beneath her feet and they were off.
