"How did you even get into my phone?" You asked, your tone full of rage, "You do realize you can get me fired this way, right?!"
"Haha, you think I care?" He grinned.
"Ugh!" You went to Namjoon's office. Why did I ever feel bad for that jerk?
You knocked on the door, "Come in." You heard his voice from inside.
"Now can I please know, were you drinking during work? Or was this genuine? Either way, there are consequences."
"Boss, I'm so sorry, I don't know what to say. This is a misunderstanding. I didn't send that text, someone used my phone and thought it would be funny."
"And who's that person?" He asked while raising one eyebrow.
"It was...Kim Taehyung." You stuttered.
"Ahh, what a sweetheart. You two must be close if he pranks you like that." He laughed.
"No, it's nothing like tha-"
"Haha, it's fine, you can get back to work."
Wow, why can he get away with anything?
You left Namjoon's office and found Taehyung in front of the door. "Are you fired?" he asked while smiling.
"No." You replied.
"Aw man," he acted disappointed. You just rolled your eyes and walked past him. You got a notification from your phone,
"Ooo," Taehyung teased while looking at your phone, "I can't believe he'd go out with you. Why would he lower his standards?"
You ignored him and went to finish your work. Hours later, you were finally done, so you left the office and went home quickly to change. As soon as you entered your apartment, your heart ached a little. It was very quiet, usually you'd hear Jungkook gaming, or watching tv, or see him working, but now, it was empty. I shouldn't have kicked him out like that...

You picked up your phone and tried calling him, he ignored it a few times, but then he finally replied.
"What do you want?" He asked, sounding very annoyed. "Jungkook, you know I only did it for your own good, please, come back. I didn't mean to kick you out." He was quiet for a few seconds, but then hung up the phone. You tried calling again, but he didn't reply. Ugh...
You went to get changed, you put on a fancy dress, you didn't go out much so you were happy with the opportunity to finally put it on. You then worked on your makeup, you preferred lighter and more natural tones. You put on your shoes and just as you were about to leave, you heard a knock on the door. You looked through your peephole and it was Jungkook.
"Kookie!" You opened the door quickly and hugged him tightly. "I'm so sorry!"
"I'm the one who should be sorry," He said while lowering his gaze, "I know you just wanted to protect me...I'm really sorry."
"It's fine." You smiled, "I'm just glad your back."
He smiled then looked at your outfit and makeup, "Y-you look really pretty, noona." He blushed.
"Thank you." You smiled shyly.
"Are you going out with Hoseok?" He asked.
"Yup!"
"Well you should hurry, looks like he's been waiting for a while downstairs." he said, you checked the time and you were 15 minutes late.
"Oh my god!" You rushed out the door, "Goodnight, Kookie! Jimin should be home soon!"
"Sorry I kept you waiting!" You said as soon as you saw Hoseok.
"No problem at all." He smiled, "I see things are cool with Jungkook again."

"Yup!" You smiled. You then thought about yesterday's kiss and blushed a little. Did he really mean it, or was it just for Taehyung to believe us?
You entered the restaurant and looked around, it was beautiful. The waiter walked you to your table, it was beside a long window, the view showed the whole city of Seoul.
"I should've gotten my camera with me!" You said. Your eyes were glimmering from the excitement. Hoseok smiled at your reaction, "I'm glad you like it."
You both ordered food, "Any plans for the future?" He asked, "I want to start up my own studio." You smiled.
"I'm sure you can do that." He smiled, just talking to him brought back all of your past feelings, even though he didn't treat you well, you now know he never meant that. After dinner, you both shared dessert. The waiter came to serve you some wine, but while he was placing the glass on the table, a customer passed by and bumped into him. He lost all his balance, and spilled all of the wine on your dress.
"I'm so sorry!" He said and rushed to get tissues. You heard the person who bumped into him laugh, and to your shock, it was Taehyung. Hoseok was furious when he noticed it, "That's not funny, Taehyung." He said full of rage.
"C'mon, Hoseok! Why her?" Taehyung said while putting both of his arms on the table. "Her looks, average. Her-"
"Stop that." Hoseok said as he got up abruptly, his hand shaped into a fist, you looked at him and shook your head, he relaxed his arm. Taehyung then looked at you, "Trying to look pretty? You need a lot more work." He smiled arrogantly, You felt rageous, "I see you're still eating cheesecakes," he said, "If you're gonna do that, at least wear something less revealing, spare everyone the-" before he could even finish his sentence, you got up and slapped him hard across the face, you took your bag and left.
Taehyung held his cheek in shock, then grinned as he watched you walk away.
Hoseok glared at him then left the restaurant quickly after paying.
"Y/n, wait!" He yelled before the elevator door closed, you quickly placed your hand before it closed.
"I know this is a big disappointment for you." He said, "At least let me drive you back home."
"It's not your fault, I just hate him so much!" Hoseok placed his hand on your shoulder, "Come clean up at my place, I don't think you want more people to see you like this."
"S-sure."
Hoseok talked to you and tried to cheer you up while focusing on the road. He arrived, It went silent for a moment, then you spoke up.
"Hoseok?"
"Ya?" He asked.
"About yesterday...that kiss, does it mean anything to you?"
"Does it mean anything to you?" He asked.
You smiled so he understood, "Well," he said and took off his seatbelt, he got closer, lifted your chin and placed his warm lips on yours.

The Emperor's Concubine
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] The heroine is good and the villainess is evil. That was the absolute truth. That rule was undeniable as well as the fact that only the heroine would receive true love and her happy ending. Likewise, the malicious villainess would always suffer and leave the stage to clear the path for the perfect heroine in the end. So, for Blanche it felt like her world came crashing around her when she remembered the truth about her life. As the villainess in the typical romance novel “To Be Empress” she was fated to be condemned and abandoned by her lover. No matter how devoted she was to Theodore Estien, the emperor of Artias, she would only be the bratty concubine that would obstruct the heroine, who happened to be Theodore's lawful wife and the empress. In the end, the villainess would be deserted and executed. It was destined to happen like this, and yet she couldn't give up. She had to change the future. Preventing the romance between the main characters would get her killed. Much like trying to steer away from the enemies' intrigues, in which she was already caught up, would. But neither the heroine nor the emperor's political rivals would change the fact that Blanche loved the man that was supposed to be the heroine's. And no matter what happened she would always stay by her lover's side. So she wouldn't just follow the book's storyline and let her own doom arrive. Blanche would survive while trying to suppress all of the selfish desires that had made her the villainess. But was she truly fine with that? Did she not desire more than just surviving? Did she even have the right? Could the villainess ask for a happy end? Was she too brazen if she just wanted to stay with the man she loved and receive his affection? And wasn't there a bit more to this novel than she remembered? She didn't know and in the end that mattered little when the world around her changed with each day as more and more questions about the future and the past arose. "The Emperor's Concubine" will be updated thrice a week (usually on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) *The Profanity tag was added due to the characters' occasional swearing, which should not happen too often.
