Everyone goes to the sandlot but smalls has to go home so I walk with him,
"Y/n can I ask you something?" He asks.
"Sure, go ahead." I say
"Do you like benny?"
I look at him surprised "why do you think that?"
"You two are really close and you look at each other in a certain way"
"What way!?" I say confused.
"When you look at him, you look like you're in love!"
"No I do not!" I never really thought about it, maybe I do. But I'm not gonna tell smalls.
"Well benny definitely does." He says
"Wait really!?" I get a weird feeling in my stomach, a good feeling.
"Yes! How haven't you noticed?"
"I'm not sure" i say
"Well I'm pretty sure he likes you so if you do feel the same towards him, tell him." Smalls walks into his house.
I stand there in shock for a minute before walking back to my house. On the way home I see benny.
"Hey Benny!" I run over to him.
"Y/n!!" He smiles. "What are you doing for the rest of the day?"
"Not much" I notice the look that smalls was talking about, I smile.
"Do you wanna go to the carnival together." He asks
"Sure, it's a date." I say walking away.
"I'll pick you up at 6!" He yells.
Benny goes back to the sandlot. He runs over to the boys.
"We're going on a date!" He says to them.
"Congrats man!" Says Bertram
"Finally!" Says squints "you've liked her forever!"
"Yeah yeah it took you long enough!" Says yeah yeah
"We're all happy for you man" says ham
"Thanks!"
They all carry on playing baseball.

When I get home, I look at the time. 5:20. I decide to pick out an outfit. I choose a bright floral dress. And lay it out on my bed. I get my white converse shoes from under my bed and put them next to my dress. Jordan barges into my room.
"What's that for?" He asks
"For the carnival, you doing anything tonight?" I ask
"Yeah, I got a date" he says
"Who!?" I ask
"Wendy Peffercorn" he replies. Oh no. She saw me with all the boys at the pool. What if she tells Jordan?!
"Ugh why her, she's such a bitch." I say
"But she's hot."
"Whatever. Now get out my room so I can get dressed."
"Alright" he leaves my room.
I get changed and check the time. 5:45. I go downstairs and get a coke out the fridge. I finish it and check the time again. 5:59. I walk outside and see benny walking over to my house. I go over to him.
"You ready?"
