"What do you wanna talk about." He asks. We stop. He turns to face me, our fingers still interlocking.

"Listen, I really want to be with you but I don't think I can." I sigh.

"Why not?" Benny's voice is calm. I don't think he is annoyed.

"My brother"

"Why would he care? He lets you play at the sandlot with us." Shit. I forgot I lied about that.

"But he wouldn't let me date you, he would never forgive me."

I look at benny. His face doesn't look annoyed or angry. He looks sad if anything.

"Is there any way that we would be able to date?" He asks.

"The only way is in secret but it is quite difficult." I look at the ground.

"If it means I can be with you, then sure" my eyes shoot up. He smiles.

"Really?!" I'm shocked.

"Yes. Lets go on a date to that new diner." I wrap my arms around his neck. His arms wrap around my waist.

"Pick me up at 7, tomorrow." I kiss him. "I'll see you tomorrow" I escape his grasp and walk into my house.

I walk into my house and see Wendy. I'm confused.

"What are you doing here?!" She asks. The audacity this girl has.

"Excuse me?! This is my house." I frown. "What are you doing here?"

"Hanging out with your brother" she gives me a look before walking off, suggesting that she knows something she shouldn't. I don't know why. Then i realise, she saw me and pool with the sandlot boys. Oh shit. If she tells my brother, I'm dead. I follow her into the kitchen.

"Wendy!" I shout in a whisper.

"I know you're playing at the sandlot." I'm in deep shit.

"Don't tell my brother,please." I beg. She looks like she's considering it.

"Fine. but if you do anything else, I'm telling him."

"Okay" I walk away. I go to my room and go straight to sleep.

I wake up and check the time. 7:50. I get out of bed and go over to my wardrobe. I grab a pair of jeans and a white top. I brush my hair and teeth, then run over to the front door. I put my converse shoes on and hurry out of the door. When I get to the sandlot I see them all sitting there crowding around someone, I run over. Squints is sitting down looking upset.

"You okay squints?" I ask.

"He's upset about Wendy" says benny

"Your stupid brother was hanging out with Wendy." Squints says.

"I get you like Wendy but it's not my brothers fault." I say.

"Dot you get it, I don't just like Wendy. I love her!" He says dramatically.

"Well go talk to her then" I say.

"I can't do that!" He shouts.

"Then stop being so dramatic and play some ball!" I snatch the bat off benny "cmon then!"

We all get in position and we play for a few hours. I go home and start picking out an outfit for the date. I pick out flares and a fitted crop top. I check the time. 6:30. I get changed and do my hair. I go downstairs.

"Where are you going?" Jordan asks

"Out with some friends" I say.

"What friends?"

"Some girls from school."

"Alright, have fun!" He says walking off to his room. I put my shoes on and walk outside. Benny is walking over.

"You look amazing mi amor"

"Thank you benny" I kiss him on the cheek. We walk to the diner. It's only around 10 minutes away.

The date goes really well. We talk about baseball, our past, our future and lots of other things. We were there for around an hour. We head home. We are a few minutes from my house.

"Y/n." Benny says. "I wanna be your boyfriend"
