《The Good Girl Boxer》Chapter 1 | The Beginning

I woke up groaning and slapped the snooze button on my alarm. I rolled out of bed and walked to my closet picking out an outfit for today. It's only the second week of Senior year and I'm already dreading the rest of it.
"Daytona! Are you up?" My mom yelled from somewhere in the house.
"Yes mother!" I responded. I found a cute sweater and blue jeans and slipped into some black vans. I brushed my teeth and threw my hair into a messy bun.
When I was down stairs I made myself some toast and sat on the counter eating it. My dad sat across the room reading the newspaper at the table.
"I have a test today in AP physics." I said through chewing toast.
"That's great." My dad took a sip of his coffee not once looking up from the newspaper.
"Oh yeah I'm also pregnant." I said while continuing to chew my toast.
"That's great." I rolled my eyes and hopped off the counter. Of course I really wasn't pregnant. If the 'Good Girl' got knocked up there would be a social uproar.
My mom came running down the stairs searching for her keys, "Your keys are on the counter Mom."
"Thank you sweetie. You better get to school before your late." She grabbed a parfait from the refrigerator.
"Yes mom." I grabbed my keys off the counter and headed out the door, "Bye mom! Bye dad!" I shut the door before I could hear their response.

On the way to school I stopped by to pick up my best friend, Charlotte.
"How was your weekend Day?" She said while getting into the car.
"It was decent. I had a date with Netflix and my bed. I also got this week's homework done." I flipped the visor down and applied a little bit of mascara while I waited for her to get settled.

"Try hard." She coughed trying to cover it up.
"I'm not a try hard. I just had nothing to do this weekend."
"Yea, but most people don't even have this week's work yet. You had to physically ask the teachers for homework a week in advance." I rolled my eyes at her and started to pull out of her drive way and to the school.
"Have you seen any boys you like yet?" I asked her. Charlotte was the complete opposite of me. She ditched class more than she actually showed up for it. And the days when she did, she was always in detention.
"Nah not really. Most of the boys in my classes are stupid." We laughed and drove the rest of the way to school talking about everything and anything.
"I hope you fail your test today." She told me as she got out of the car and headed to the opposite end of school.
"I hope you stay out of trouble." We stared at each other and started to laugh.
"See you later Day."
"See you Charlotte."

The AP Physics test was harder than I thought it would be. I was walking to my next period when I got shoved as someone walked by, "Watch it GG."
I looked up and my eyes met Logan Wylde's. Meet Logan everyone. He's your average popular guy. Rank A douchebag, screws more girls than classes I can take, and is totally hot. He's probably 6'2 and has midnight hair. His eyes are the color of the forest and I forgot to mention, he's the 'Bad Boy' of the school.
He gets into fights and drives a motorcycle to school. It's even rumored that he is undefeated in some underground boxing club.

So yea, stereotypically we have some kind of unspoken hatred, me the Good Girl and him the Bad Boy. I'm supposed to shake and tremble in his presence but in all honesty, if I had the chance, I would love to be friends with him.
"Sorry Logan." I said while looking down and picking up the papers that I dropped.
He just scoffed, "GG." A crowd had formed around us, but when Logan left, so did everyone else.
I continued on my way to class with out bumping into anyone. I sat in the back corner and pulled out my book and started reading. The bell rang and I heard someone cough infront of me.
"Can I help you?" I looked up and almost choked when I saw Logan standing in front of me.
He had never showed up before, "You aren't even in this class." I added.
He narrowed his eyes at me and I heard chairs and desks rattle along with the gasps of everyone in the class.
I swallowed the lump in my throat, "Even if you did take this class, I've always sat here and I don't see your name anywhere on the desk." I looked around the desk to add emphasis on what I had said. I had no clue where this new found confidence came from but it was causing my stomach to feel upset.
He laid his hands on the front of my desk, "I'll ask you just this once. Move." His eyes were narrowed as he bore holes into my soul.
"That's not a question, and no." His lips thinned at my response and I shut my eyes fearing whatever came next but the teacher walked in just in time.
"Is there a problem Mr. Wylde? If not please take a seat so class can begin." He stayed for a second longer but eventually left and I let out a sigh of relief when he did.
Class went on as usual despite Logans blazing gaze on the side of my face. No matter how tempted I was to look, I didn't.
By fourth period, news of what I had said to Logan was circling around the school. I skipped the school lunch line and immediately made a beeline for the empty table near the bathrooms.
Two hands clasped onto my shoulders and my spine went stiff, "Chill Day it's just me." I instantly calmed at the sound of Charlotte's voice.
"I heard about your run in with Logan Wylde." I rolled my eyes.
"Yea about that.." I was going to continue when two football players walked up to our table and stood opposite of us.
Charlotte leaned down and whispered in my ear, "This can't be good."
"No joke." I whispered back.
Charlotte plopped down beside me and put her chin in her palms, "So boys what is it that you need." She batted her eyelashes in annoyance.
"We need Daytona. Now."
