《ʟᴏᴠᴇ ᴡᴀᴠᴇs》A confession

It was Friday, and Chika and You were both getting ready to head out and get to their where they had agreed to meet. They had agreed to meet up at the beach close to the caffè You worked at around 6:30 pm, and so they did.
Though before Chika could go any further, her sister Mito told her to take out Shiitake with her so he could wak a little and exercise. Of course, Chika voted against it and tried to explain she was going out with a friend, that maybe her friend wouldn't like having a dog around all the time, but Mito wouldn't take no for an answer, and Chika ended up taking Shiitake along with her.
You walked to the beach with her feet in the sand and her shoes in her hand, looking at the Mikan Lover standing in the ocean, the water crashing against her legs a little, and still, she would not budge. She was wearing a white blouse with a navy blue overall dress. You thought about just standing there and watching her for a while, because she could not denny the fact that she found the scenery pretty. And to top it off, there was a random dog sitting close to Chika, which made it even better.
Eventually, You walked up to her and tapped her shoulder, catching her by surprise and making her flinch a bit.
"Hey," she said with a smile "did I keep you waiting?"
"Nah, it's alright. I needed to take my dog out for a walk anyway." Chika answered, and jus then did You notice the leash on Chika's hand. "I know I didn't tell you about him coming too, but I didn't exactly have a choice. Does it bother you?"
"Don't worry about it, I actually quite like dogs." You responded with a smile, crouching down to pet Shiitake. Chika, of course, saw this a chance to play a joke on her friend and didn't hesitate to take it. She gave You a small kick on the back with her wet foot, using just enough strength to make her fall down on her face and get it full of sand.

"Hey!" You barked while Chika laughed loudly, making some people look at them. You spitted out some sand and made a 'bleh' sound, sticking out her tongue. And still, Chika was just lying on the floor with tears on her eyes and laughter until she ran out of breath.
"This is why you have no friends."
"Then what are you and Kanan supposed to be? And still, I have many other friends!"
"Not with that attitude-"
"Do you want me to push you into the sand again? Because I could, believe me."
"I would like to see you try!" You challenged Chika, snatching Shiitake's leash and running away.
"Oh, it is on now!" Chika said while she ran after You, who was simply smiling like an idiot with Shiitake wagging his tail and barking, the both seemed to enjoy themselves a lot.
After about 15 minutes of running around and tossing sand everywhere, Chika gave up and sat down, getting sand all over her clothes. You and Shiitake sat beside her, just as tired as she was. Chika plopped her head on You's lap, making the silver haired girl let out a small surprised yelp, but she didn't mind it.
They stayed quiet for a little, watching the sunset and the waves crashing against the people on the ocean. They were both having a good time, but You just needed to talk about it. Talk about the kiss. She had lied to Chika about it and said it was nothing but a distraction to stop her from crying, but it was more than just that. You couldn't hide that forever, and she knew that at some point she'd have to say it.
Even if it made Chika uncomfortable at first, even if she didn't like her back, it would just be painful to keep it in whenever she was with Chika. So maybe if she let it out, she'd feel better, just maybe. Ruining the peaceful moment they were having would be such a pity, but either way, You couldn't help it.

"Chika.. I wanna tell you something. Don't say anything until I'm done talking, just.. listen." You felt her heartbeat speed up slightly. "I always have a really good time when I'm with you, it gives an odd feeling and well.. it was different than what I feel with any of my other friends. At first I thought I'd brush it off as nothing, that it would just fade, but it didn't." Chika listened carefully.
"And the day when I found you crying and hurt.. that broke my heart. I thought that it was such a pity to see someone so beautiful so sad, that a smile suits you so much more, that I wanna make you happy and make you laugh. And then I kissed you. I knew it was a risky move, but I couldn't suppress what I felt. I didn't just kiss you because I wanted you to stop crying, I kissed you because I.. I like you."
She felt Chika remove her head from her lap and sit up to look at her, with a taint of pink on her cheeks. "Y-you don't need to give me an answer right now!" You sat up quickly, feeling anxiety rush through her body. She turned around and stepped away quickly, attempting to run away, but failing at doing so when she felt Chika grab her wrist.
"That's.. well, I'm not sure what to say but.. I'm not prepared for this. I'm not prepared to fall for someone again yet. I think you're a really great girl and that you deserve someone that can give you what you want, but I can't-"
"You can't what?" You turned around abruptly. "Give me what I want? Well, you clearly don't know what I want. I want you, so I'm pretty sure you could give me what I want."
"That's the thing.. I-I can't hand over my heart to someone again."
she thought.
"I enjoy the times I have with you, you make me happy, but.. I just can't. There's so much you don't know about me, so much I'm not ready to say or do. These past months have been hard, and I don't think I can open up to anyone this much yet.. I'm sorry. We can still be friends though, right?"
"Just be friends.. yeah, friends. It's fine, you don't have to apologize. It was something silly after all. I mean, falling for someone when you don't know much about them or them about you is just silly, right? I mean, I didn't even know your sexuality!" She laughed sadly, tears threatening to fall down.
"You.."
"Don't worry about it. It's fine." And with that final word, she ran way. And once she was far away enough, she let the tears fall.

From the Final World
I have lived a long, long time. Longer than the universe knows; longer than any star has seen or traveling light records. My memories; that is all that is left that knows that length, and that which was seen within it. Then again, that is all that ever did. When I am gone, it will be forgotten, a truth and a history lost forever no matter who or what tries to find it. I think that is why I write this now. A record, or a lament, of the most significant being of all time. It is a prideful exaltation of endless triumph, or the dread condemnation of infinite evil. I don’t know which; I shall leave it for others to judge. I could explain further, of course. I could list the sins that have been committed, the deeds that have been done. Yet for now, I believe this is enough. Her story will speak for itself. About the good, and evil, in the heart of a single girl burdened with more than her fair share. And how she reacted to it. So, I will tell her story. Of gods and devils, mortals and monsters, of legends long forgotten and civilizations long turned to dust. And in the end, I hope she knows herself, whether it is salvation, or destruction, she should receive.
