《ʟᴏᴠᴇ ᴡᴀᴠᴇs》A sleepover?

"Could you two just shut up already?!" Chika yelled as she threw a pillow across the room hopping it would hit either Kanan or You. The two had been arguing about something sea related, but Chika couldn't care less. It was nearly three AM and Chika decided that, at this point, she would sell her kidney to get some sleep. Her medication did make her very sleepy, but she just couldn't get herself to fall asleep with the other two girls arguing.
"I would, but You doesn't want to admit that diving is better than snorkeling!" The blue haired girl said, taking a hold of the pillow at her feet, throwing it back at Chika.
"That's most certainly not the case!" You argued back, making Chika sit up and shoot her and Kanan a death glare.
The three of them were sleeping in the same room. Chika took Kanan's bed, while she and You slept in two separate futons on the floor. Chika said she was fine with sleeping on the floor, but they insisted that she should take the bed, considering the small incident that occurred earlier.
The futons were placed next to the bed, and it gave Chika a perfect chance to throw herself on top of the girls bickering on the floor. With some luck maybe she could cause their lungs to colapse with her weight.
"I swear if you two don't shut up now I'll shove more medicine down my throat so it makes me throw up on you two."
"You'd throw up if you took medicine?" You backed away a little, picturing the scene.
"Well, not necessarily, but it is one of the side effects. Now, let me sleep because I have to wake up early to take the medicine and I want to get at least three hours of sleep, thank you very much." And with that, the room grew quiet, except for a few small 'goodnight' whispers.

Chika woke up a few hours later, feeling lightheaded. She tried to go back to sleep but it wasn't really working, so she simply sat up and looked around the room. The sea lovers were both asleep, their legs sticking out of the blankets and heads on the floor instead of on the pillows.
She stretched her hand out and grabbed her phone, eyes squinting from the bright light in the dark room. It had only been 2 hours since she had fallen asleep, and she suddenly really needed to go to the bathroom.
Chika got out of bed as silently as possible and tip toed her way out of the room, heading to the bathroom. She almost fell a few times, but she perked up immediately when she heard humming coming from the living room. She decided to ignore it and ran to the bathroom, determined to get back to the comfort of the warm bed as soon as possible.
After stepping out of the bathroom, Chika found herself hearing the humming again, this time coming from Kanan's room. It was an oddly familiar voice, and she refused to believe it was who she thought it was.
Once outside the room, she saw Riko sitting with her legs crossed in front of the door. She looked up at Chika and gave her a smile. To anyone who didn't know Riko, it would look like a sincere smile, but it was actually empty, emotionless, cold. It sent shivers down her spine.
Nonetheless, she decided to ignore her and go back inside. Maybe if she woke up the girls Riko would disappear and they could have breakfast together and do whatever teenagers do early in the morning with their friends, if there was such a thing.
Just as she was about to take a hold of the handle and open the door, Riko's cold hands wrapped around her arm. She had stood up and pulled Chika close. "Are you just going to ignore me? That's not very nice of you."

The way her grip tightened around her arm made Chika wanna scream and run away. It felt so real. It made her heart beat fast with fear, it made her feel as if all the life had been drained from her.
"Let me go", she said. She intended it to come out like a threat, but it came out desperate, almost as if she was pleading.
"Come on, scream and maybe I'll let you go. You can't keep pretending I'm not real forever, you know?" Now Chika's arm had nail marks on them, she was bleeding. "Everyone will find out eventually anyway, don't the girls in that room know already though? Well, whatever." She shrugged.
"What do you want from me?" Again, it sounded like a whisper.
"What do I want.." she looked at the ceiling for a moment, as if she actually hadn't taken that fact into consideration yet. And again, she simply shrugged. "At the moment, nothing. Even if I did wanted something you probably wouldn't even be able to bake me a cake! You're pretty useless aren't you?"
And then, the door opened.
It was Kanan. She looked tired, as if she had just woken up. Because, as it turns out, she had just woken up. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun and some strands were falling on her face. "Chika? Why are you up this early?" She looked at her with her eyes only half open, and when she noticed the blood on her arm, they opened like plates. "Why are you bleeding? And why.. why are you crying?"
"I'm.. bleeding? Why am I bleeding?" In her hallucination, she was bleeding, but if it was only a hallucination, she shouldn't have been bleeding in reality. This hadn't ever happened before. And she hadn't even noticed the tears rolling down her cheek until Kanan mentioned it.
She tried to find a logical excuse, or at least one that wouldn't make her seem as crazy as 'I thought our dead friend showed up here to torture me'. Regardless, it didn't seem like it had much importance, because before she could say anything, Kanan's arms were around her.
Kanan always knew when people needed a hug. She was definitely a hugger. In fact, her answer to most situations like this were hugs. Chika hated her, but it was impossible not to love her as well.
"Yeah, yeah. I just.. don't worry, I'm fine. Is it too early to have breakfast?"
Kanan pushed her away softly and put her hands on her shoulders. "It's never too early for food."

Free Your Mind
A journey through the mind can be a mixture of the good, the bad, the pure, and the evil. Free Your Mind is a collection of poems and short stories that I've written over the years. As of now, this book is still in progress, but I've planned to release at least 25 to 30 chapters minimum for Free Your Mind. Hopefully you enjoy reading through the works already published for this book, and I hope you'll stick around for what's to come in the future. If you have any comments, ideas, critiques, etc. please let me know! I'm always open to what people have to say about my work. Free Your Mind is a way for me to dabble into releasing my writings for the public to read. And hopefully, if all goes decent with this book, I'll continue to upload different works alongside this. Note: Currently the cover work for Free Your Mind isn't mine. I plan to upload an original design once I've completed the chapters for this book.
