- - - GAME OVER, TAN LIANG HAS BEEN FOUND GUILTY, TIME FOR THE PUNISHMENT! - - -
We patiently waited for the door at the back of the room to open for the third time so far, but as the suspense built up, the door remained unmoving. Thinking he had been spared from the gruesome fate the past killers had experienced, Tan Liang found his opportunity to escape. But instead of running towards the exit like we thought, as a normal person would, he charged at Sophie, knocking her to the ground and trying to yank the pistol she held out of her hand. With a small giggle, she gladly handed over the weapon, gently placing it in her attacker's palm and wrapping his index finger around the trigger, as if encouraging him to shoot us down. Although this seemed like a kind act towards the desperate killer, there was no such expression of empathy on her face. Her eyes were cold and uncaring, seemingly beckoning him to come challenge her and try to make a fool of her. Whatever kind act this was, behind it was an infectious, sickening and malicious ill intent.
Tan Liang stood up, unaware of what was to come. He aimed the pistol at Monokuma, ready to fire. But the bear just let out another one of his cheeky laughs and before Tan Liang could do anything, light streamed down from above, like the glow of the heavens. The ceiling had opened up and from the top, a large metal claw came down and picked the killer up by the ankle, dangling him upside down. He tried to remove the anklet, but soon he was so high up that even if he did, he would fall to a terrible death. He aimlessly fired the pistol, but the bullets missed everyone and imprinted themselves into the ground, and after a while of ascending, Tan Liang found himself being dropped onto a smooth, white surface with a loud clink.

He slowly got up, pistol still being gripped tightly in his right hand. He was in a dark room, pitch black, the light only illuminating onto the spot he was in. The floor was cold and made of something like ceramic, but looking around, he took in its round edges and the wood floor beneath it. The wooden floor seemed to be elevated as well, and beyond it was... A chair? No, he was not standing on the floor, he was standing on a large plate. Panicked, Tan Liang ran and ran, but the closer he got to the edge, the longer the plate seemed to become. Tired out from running, he collapsed onto the floor, pistol still in hand, and all of a sudden the floor, no, the whole world shook. They felt like giant footsteps, but giant footsteps, but giant footsteps had to be made by giant things, and...
Out from the dark stepped a humongous, yellow... Chicken man.
- - - CHICKEN RUN, ultimate chef, Tan Liang's execution: executed - - -
The chicken man picked up it's pace and ran to the table, knife and fork in hand, ready to enjoy his hearty meal. Tan Liang did the same, running further away from the big bird. Then he realised he had a gun. Turning his head around, he aimed the pistol straight up at the bird's skull and began to blindly fire. The bird wouldn't flinch, continuing to make its way to the table. More bullets shot across the room, but no matter how many hit the bird, nothing would happen. The closer he got, the better Tan Liang could hear his bullets ricocheting off the chicken man's metallic body. The more he shot, however, he sensed the chicken man running faster and faster, obviously getting more and more aggravated. And soon he reached the table, holding the knife up high to skewer its meal.

The knife came down quickly, just nearly missing Tan Liang as he dodged it. He could see the large dent the knife made in the plate, glad it wasn't his leg. He continued to shoot, hoping that it would disable the chicken man. Enraged, it plunged the knife down onto the plate once again, and this time, Tan Liang wasn't as lucky. The knife stuck itself into the his leg, slicing it clean off from the thigh upward. Blood splattered everywhere and he cried out in pain. Now drenched in a puddle of warm blood and handicapped, Tan Liang was stuck on the ground. He turned his body to face the chicken man and saw his cut off leg get picked up by a fork. The chicken man's mouth opened eagerly, and it dropped the leg inside. But before the chicken man's mouth closed, Tan Liang had noticed that in the back of it was a small, glowing, red button. He knew what he had to do.
The knife came plunging down again. This time, Tan Liang stood his ground, preparing for the searing pain. The knife sliced his left hand off this time, and the fork brought it up to the chicken man's mouth. As the red button glinted in the light, he aimed the pistol at it and used the last of his strength to shoot at it. After a few shots, the button stopped glowing and the chicken man began to slowly shut down. With a final clunk, it was still.
Missing an arm and a leg, but still alive barely, Tan Liang collapsed onto the ceramic floor in a bloody mess. He was relieved that he was alive, but what he didn't hear was the creak of the chicken man's body toppling over like a tower. Nearer and nearer it leaned towards the table, Tan Liang still oblivious to the incoming danger. But then, there was a snapping noise, almost like something had broken a bone. Alarmed by the sudden sound, he turned around to see the chicken man's head slide off its neck and hurtle full speed towards him.
He raised his gun again, thinking that shooting would help him, but the head slammed onto the plate, and more than glass shattering could be heard.
Under the large head of the chicken man was a gory scene. Waterfalls of red streamed out from beneath, and at the side lay something, bloody but untouched. A small pistol.
Tan Liang, the ultimate chef.
The one who killed Alyssa and Miyoshi too.
Crushed under the weight of false hope.
We stood still for a while, as if waiting for something else to happen. But there was no more movement, Tan Liang was undoubtedly, and unmistakably, dead.
There were 12, now there was 9.
The words Crysty spoke in my dream surfaced and attacked me once again.
"You're going to die here."
Despair is wonderful, isn't it?

I Have Even Read the Rulebook!
As all stories begin, Prof died. Yes, truck-kun had something to do with that, but also a bird, a cat and some rebar. When he was presented with with the opportunity in the Afterlife Administration Bureau to be transmigrated into a game-like fantasy world, he did something, no one ever did: he read the Rulebook. Follow Prof on his road to be rich without working, touring a whole new world without a care and witness his realisation, that despite having read the Rulebook the folks living with the System for untold millennia know more about the rules. Important notes: 1, I'm not a native speaker, so be prepared for occassional typos, iffy grammar and maybe awkward sentences. The spell check was running, when I wrote the chapters, but it works in strange ways... If you point out mistakes, I will try to correct them 2, Scheduling will be two chapters a week, posted Saturdays before noon (CET). Depending on how much new chapters I can write consistently there will be probably more but as long as I have leftover chapters, the two per week will be posted no matter what. Chapters will be around 1500-2500 words as MS Word counts it. 3, I did not and will not post this novel on another site, if you find it somewhere else, please inform me 4, The Main Character's progression is slow, there will be no Levels, Skills, Abilities, Feats, Perks and Cheat Powers raining down on him 5, I've put Comedy as a genre because of my writing style not because the novel is a comedy per se. On the other hand, Traumatising Content is there because there is a lot of speciesism - those Elves are not nice people. 6, I put a lot of pop-cultural references into the chapters, try to find them! Enjoy!
