"So lets start. I came from a werewolf family. But I was the only one that couldn't shift but I haf all the abilities of one. My family kicked me to the curb as soon as they could. I met your mother and we came here when your mother was 5 months pregnant with you. When Augustus came here and we realized you were his mate. We made a agreement. No werewolf can go without their mate. We didn't want to introduce him as a friend of the family because then it would be weird and awkward. So we decided that Augustus would be your "dog". That way Augustus could be close to you, and you have a friend. We also agreed that once you accepted him as a mate, you could move in with him. That's pretty much it." Dad explained to me as I listen.

"So I have the werewolf gene in me." I say. "Yeah but it lays dormant so you are human. But it is there." Dad explains. Nodding, I look down at my bowl silent. "Are you upset with us Yoshi? We understand if you are." Mom asks grabbing my hand.

"No, I'm not upset with you. I get why you did what you did, all of you." I say, looking at Augustus.

"Alright. Just making sure, I know you got to do your homework, Augustus you can go back there but keep the door cracked. No funny business." Mom said making me blush as I get up.

Going in my room, Augustus follows behind me closing the door but leaving it cracked. Sitting at my desk I get started on my homework completely ignoring Augustus.

"So are you not going to talk to me. Because I won't leave until we talk this out." Augustus says as I finish the my homework. Turning around in my desk chair, I look at him.

"You said I could move in with you when I get ready. I've lived in this God forsaken Utah all my life. I want to go to Boston for University, I want to travel the world. I'm not giving up my dreams for some mate bond." I say exasperated as I see Augustus's eyes darken and a growl come from his throat.

"This is not some mate bond to me. I'm not letting you go. You are mine, you agreed to be mine. I'm not asking you to give up your dreams. I'm asking to work with me to run the pack. " Augustus growled lowly. "So you want me to lead a pack that has bullied and belittled me instead of going to my dream university. You want me to lead werewolves when I'm human instead of owning my own business!" I exclaim at him.

Augustus lets another growl go as he removes his shoes, pants and shirt before getting in my bed. "What are you doing?" I ask him going to the bed only for him to drag me down to lay down facing him. "I know you have dreams of starting a business. and I don't want to hold you back from that but I want you to consider taking online classes. I know your smart as hell but I don't want you to leave. I'll do anything for you to not leave me." Augustus says holding my waist.

"To be honest, I don't know what type of business I want but I want to see what the world has to offer. I want to get the college experience." I say softly aa I tug at my shirt. "Lets just cross this bridge when it comes. You need sleep now Yoshi." Augustus says rubbing my back. Nodding, I stand removing my clothes before getting back in bed.

"I love you Yoshi." Augustus says holding my cheek. Blushing, I snuggle into his chest as I play with his hair. "Okay." I say kissing his cheek in response before turning over and going to sleep. "We'll travel the world together." Augustus whispered kissing the back of my neck.

The next morning waking, I felt cold . turning over I notice Augustus wasn't in bed. So I figure, he left early to handle the pack. Sitting up, I go to the bathroom handling my before school routine.

After 30 minutes, I felt refreshed putting on a long sleeved shirt along with my sweatpants and my lined crocs. I grabbed my backpack and phone before leaving the room seeing Mom and Dad in the kitchen with Augustus sitting at the table waiting patiently. But the air around him was off like he was abnormally tense.

Sitting beside him, I offer a smile and only get a nod in reply. "Maybe he needs alone time." I think to myself as Mom sets breakfast on the table.

"Thanks Mom." I say softly digging in as Augustus simply sips his coffee. Mom and Dad seem to realize something is wrong with Augustus but they both keep quiet. "I'm going to start walking to school now." I say standing up kissing both Mom and Dad on the cheek before walking out the house.

Augustus follows me out the house. For a bit it was tense but then Augustus pulled me to a stop.

"How far did you go with Nathan?" He gritted out. "Only kissing that's it. Why?" I ask turning around. "Then why is he still texting you talking about meeting up when he gets back." He says his voice rising and his eye color flickering.

"That's nothing to worry about. We're friends." I say calmly looking up at me seeing him breathing deeply. "He bullied you and now your friends." Augustus says glaring at me.

"At this point, I rather be bullied than anyone else fill the pain because I can take it. He's gone through alot that you don't know about." I say calmly.

Augustus glared huffing out a breath before walking in the opposite direction. "I have a pack to run." He growled out. I wanted to go after him but I knew he needed space right now.

Rushing to school, I go through the day trying to decide what to do about Augustus.
