《Scarlet Wolf》Bonus Chapter- A Simple, Easy Job- Isa's POV

A/N- Ya girl was productive! So you guys get an early update! So this is officially the last chapter, and I'm going to start the sequel, and The Night Mystics, formally called The Dream Walkers.
___
I find myself in a small, dark back alley. It had been three days since my parents kicked me out. Now I had no family, and as soon as word got out about me kissing another girl, my friends had abandoned me as well. I had no one.
At this point, I had gotten used to it. My routine over these three days had been find a soup kitchen, get some food, and try to find a shelter where I could stay. The problem was I had no money, so I couldn't get a hotel room, and all the shelters I found were already full. But now I was totally lost. I was in the "bad" part of the city, the part my parents kept me away from.
Suddenly there's a noise behind me. A girl about my age with flaming red hair down to waist stood there, her back to me. She must have jumped down from a window above.
She turned slightly. Not enough for her to see me, but enough to see what she was doing. She was wiping an ornately carved shining knife on her shirt, cleaning it of blood.
And and it clicked. This was the Scarlet Wolf. Everyone in New York had heard about her. No one had seen more of the city's deadliest assassin than her flaming red hair, but seeing this girl now, there was no doubt it was Scarlet Wolf.
I let out an involuntary gasp. She heard me, and whipped around quickly. She stared at me with something like a predator's gaze.
"You're, you're the Scarlet, Scarlet Wolf," I stutter out. I inwardly cringe. I had a bad habit of stuttering when I get nervous.

She sighs, before stalking towards me. Oh god, I'm gonna die. This assassin is going to kill me and I can't fight back. This is not how I thought I'd die.
"Yes I am," she barely whispered. "Now, what's a girl like you doing by a gang house in the middle of the night?" I back up as she gets closer.
My back hit the wall. I was trapped. When she reached me, Scarlet Wolf put her hand around my neck. Well, I guess this is the end, I thought to myself. And everything went black.
___
I opened my eyes with a small whimper sound. I was sitting in a chair, Scarlet Wolf sitting on the table in front of me, a small smirk in her face. In short, she looked terrifying, but also strangely hot. Wait, what?! Snap out of it, Isa! She's an assassin!
"So you're awake. That's good, because the two of us need to talk," she says, looking vaguely amused. At least I wasn't dead.
"You're the- you're the Scarlet Wolf," is all I manage to say. Get it together Isa! At least stop stuttering!
"Yes. I thought we discussed this already."
"What are you going to do to me? Are you going- going to- to kill me?!" Stop stuttering for goodness sake!
"Thanks for bringing that up, because that's exactly what we need to talk about. You see, even as an assassin, I have morals. I don't like to kill innocents. Everyone I kill is deserving of it in some way, or I wouldn't be hired to kill them. But you, you're different. You don't know how dark the world can be, you're not a bad person. You were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. I don't want to kill you, but you saw me kill two men. You're a witness, and witnesses are dangerous to me. So, what do I do? I don't want to kill you, but the fact that you are alive is a problem for me. What do you suggest?" Scarlet asks. I was relieved that she wasn't going to kill me, but what did she mean?

"Well I probably wouldn't be an assassin in the first place," I answer, before cringing. Good job, Isa, be sarcastic to the assassin. Great going.
To my surprise, she chuckles. Well at least I didn't make her angry.
"But um I guess- I guess I would make sure that I wouldn't- wouldn't go to the police," I continue. Her smirk widens, and I gulp.
"Exactly. What's your name?"
"My name?"
"Yes. Your name. What is it?"
"Um Isa Delinda," I reply without thinking.
"Well, Isa Delinda, now that I know your name, I can find you, if you don't keep your mouth shut. If I or anyone else hears a rumor that you went to the police, you'll be dead the next day, understand?"
"Yes. I understand."
"Good, now that that's out of the way, I'm sure you'd like to get home. I'll drop you off."
"No. You don't have to do that," I say quickly. God what do I do? It's not like she can drop me off anywhere.
"I insist. I'm not the worst person you could have run into tonight. Like I said, I have morals. I can handle myself alone on the streets, but from what I've seen, you can't."
"Really, you don't have-"She interrupts me.
"This is not up for debate. Now, if you don't tell me where you live, I'll find out myself."
"That's the thing. I don't have a home."
This shocked me. "No friends, no family you can stay with?" She asked asked, sounding concerned. Wait, concerned?
"I have no family, according to them. My friends left me. I have no one."
"You can stay here until you find a place of your own," she says after a second. Wait? Stay with her?
"Y-you don't have to. I can find a um hotel," I lie. Staying here would be nice, but the fact that I she killed someone scares me a bit.
"Again, this isn't up for debate. I promise I won't kill you or hurt you in anyway, and you won't get involved in any of my business, if that's what you're worried about," she replies, looking genuine.
"Okay. Just for tonight though," I give in. It really is better than finding a shelter or sleeping on the streets.
"Of course. My couch has a pullout bed you can sleep on."
"Thank-thank you."
"You're welcome," she says.
She sets up the bed and puts sheets on it. I sit there watching her. Seeing her be this kind puts her in a different light. She's really quite beautiful. Her hair, her eyes, her face. Isa, no. You can't get feelings for the assassin.
I thank her one more time, and she walks off to her room. I fall asleep quickly, nestled into the fluffy blanket she gave me.
