(No One's POV)

It was a nice quiet day the birds were singing wind was blowing. And the sound of two of our Dragon riders screaming and running for their lives.

"Come on hiccup move those legs!!!"- (y/n)

"Hey I'll have you know only one of us have a set of two working feet!!"- Hiccup

Now you might be wondering what exactly are they running from that has them this panicked. Well you see the two thought it would be a good idea to go out and just see what they can find from the monster book. And they might have gotten exactly what they wanted. However the thought didn't occur to them that this is something new this isn't like any dragon they've ever seen, it was a monster.

"I don't think it likes the fact that we broke its claw!!"- Hiccup

"Gee you don't say! Where in the name of Thor are our dragons!? Jetwing!!!"- (y/n)

"Toothless!!"- Hiccup

"*Roar*"- monster

Velociprey

Aggressive, carnivorous monsters that often travel in packs. Even a master hunter should take care not to become surrounded! Wide ranging, they are found in many different areas, such as the Jungle or Forest and Hills.

"Oh great, now we have to worry about a WHOLE PACK OF THESE THINGS!!!"- (y/n)

"Are you serious!? Why don't you just shoot it with an arrow!?"- Hiccup

"Oh yeah sure let me just take out an arrow, aim it at the speeding monster, and recite a spell I'm pretty sure he'll let me!!!"- (y/n)

The two brothers kept running and running until they heard too familiar sounds.

A plasma blast hit the ground in front of the monster causing it to back up a bit.

After the plasma blast hit another one came but this time it was red and get the monster on its back. Did you Dragon riders stopped where they were and held up their arms. Only for the both of them to get picked up by their dragons.

"Oh thank Thor you guys showed up."- Hiccup

"Yeah who would have thought that that cave would give in."- (y/n)

After getting settled onto their backs the two of them started to fly their dragon slowly but at a fast enough pace so they can get where they're going. The reason why it's only these two is because they went off by themselves without telling anyone. It was only supposed to be a fun little adventure but I kind of escalated and turned into an entire situation of trying to live. Fun little fact monsters are way tougher than dragons, (y/n) a few regular arrows at that Velociprey to try and get away but the arrow is only bounced off its skin.

"So what other species do we try finding? Maybe something that would definitely kill us this time."- (y/n)

"Oh relax this is the first island we ever been to that has monsters on it. Who knows what else was on there we just left. But I'm not saying let's go back with just two of us."- Hiccup

"The fact that you're saying let's go back at all. Is grounds to me wanting to punch you."- (y/n)

"Oh great my own brother is turning into Astrid."- Hiccup

"I'm just saying let's lay off the monster hunting for a bit. At least until we get enough supplies or we can defend ourselves."- (y/n)

"Yeah you're right. The only reason we got out of there with our lives is because Jetwing and Toothless came at the right time. Let's get back to Berk and hope that no one was looking for us."- Hiccup

Unfortunately for them people were looking for them. Specifically the other Dragon riders, but that was one person that was looking for (y/n) specifically.

"What the heck were you two thinking!?"- Astrid

"I can't believe you go off to search for new creatures without me!"- Fishlegs

"Or us we want to see cool things too!"- Ruffnut

"Yeah!"- Tuffnut

"Well we just wanted to do a little brotherly bonding you know?"- Hiccup

"Besides you guys wouldn't have liked it anyway it was boring.

"Oh really, then why don't you go ahead and tell us what happened."- Astrid

"Uuuuum."- Hiccup & (y/n)

"You didn't get hurt did you?"- Heather

"Nothing to major just a little spook is all."- (y/n)

"So what book is that?"- Heather

"Oh it's our monster book. You see there aren't just dragons in the world they're also monsters apparently."- Fishlegs

"FISHLEGS!!"- (y/n)/Astrid/Hiccup

"Sorry."- Fishlegs

"Wa-wa-wait. Monsters!? Are you serious!?"- Heather

"Yeah, now that the cat's out of the bag might as well say it. This book is pretty much magical, and within it holds the secrets to many different monsters. For a good example, (y/n) if you please."- Hiccup

Gobul

Monsters with strong camouflage skills and powerful neurotoxins. Being a poor swimmer, Gobul's conceal themselves and lure prey by imitating plants with their barbels. Can reportedly swallow Epioth whole, they also love eating frogs. Even though their deep water monsters, no sometimes surface to the higher sea levels to find food.

"Fascinating, I feel like It'll be in the same class as a Change Wing. However it lives underwater like a tidal class type of dragon. What are its habits!? Bathing routines anything!"- Fishlegs

"Will you calm your nerd down? I'm excited by this stuff too but you don't see me flipping all over it."- (y/n)

"Let me have a look."- Heather

Heather moved over next to (y/n) and just looked at it and confusion. If you remember only a hunter can read the book to anyone else it'll just look like a foreign language no one will be able to understand.

"Sorry Heather you need to be a hunter to read it."- (y/n)

"So you're a hunter?"- Heather

"Unwillingly yes. The only reason I became a hunter is because I met Jetwing."- (y/n)

"I thought he was a Nightfury."- Heather

"Oh no he's a hybrid. A mixture between a Nightfury and a monster known as Valstrax."- Fishlegs

(Y/n) seemed to start and reach for an arrow. That was until Hiccup stopped his hand with his own and made him put it back in the quiver. However the whole group seemed to settle down when they saw Snotlout comes in on Hookfang's back.

"Hey guys I found something off the shore of Berk. And bring the monster book."- Snotlout

Timeskip

As the ground was flying through the air Astrid had a little bit of a complaint about the current company.

"Does anyone mind telling me why she's coming with us?"- Astrid

The person she's talking about is Heather who was riding on Jetwing's back with (y/n). Snotlout offered to let her ride on Hookfang's back, Fishlegs did the same with Meatlug. Pretty much all the guys did all except (y/n) whom she asked for a lift.

"She wanted to come I don't see why not."- Hiccup

"I mean I kind of do. This is a monster we're dealing with not a dragon."- (y/n)

"Well I wouldn't necessarily say it's a monster yet. And besides I want to show my future wife that I'm not scared of anything."- Hookfang

"Uuuh."- Heather

"Listen you really didn't have to come. I wouldn't want you to fight or get caught up in anything."- (y/n)

"What don't think I can handle myself?"- Heather

"It's not that it's more or less you're a guest here, so I don't want you to do anything that you don't have to."- (y/n)

"Hey we're here!"- Snotlout

The group stopped in place in order to get a good look at what he was talking about. From the looks of it it was just a regular average Island that was until they heard the sound of something in distress. After they landed on the island the riders started to look around at the scenery however some of them stayed on the dragons just in case

"Follow me."- Snotlout

"So what exactly are we looking for here?"- Astrid

"That's the thing I don't know. It didn't look like a dragon so I figured."- Snotlout

"It could be a monster."- Hiccup

"I didn't want to touch it because I didn't know what it was. However, I did make a secure location around it. So it won't wander off too far."- Snotlout

"Wow that's actually pretty smart if you Snotlout."- Hiccup

"I have good ideas. You'll see that later down the line Heather. Way better then fish face over there or Hiccup."- Snotlout

"And there's the back hand."- Hiccup

"Shh, does anyone else hear that?"- Ruffnut

Everyone stopped moving on listened carefully to the sound. And honestly sounded like a baby goat, so the group starts to move forward slowly until they did see a baby, but it wasn't a goat.

"What in Thor's name is that?"- Tuffnut

"Maybe a sea monster. Oh (y/n) go look go look!!!"- Ruffnut

"Yeah yeah yeah. Here take the book."- (y/n)

"Wait what are you doing?"- Astrid

"I'm going to go see if I can get it so relax. If it's not hostile then I'll run, if it is.... Let's hope it's not."- (y/n)

"Be careful."- Heather

"** Be careful."- Astrid

(Y/n) started to move in slowly, but unknowingly to him Hiccup started to move in behind him.

"Hey little guy. You okay?"- (y/n)

"*"- monster

"It's okay it's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you."- (y/n)

"Hey look at its tail."- Hiccup

"What the!? Hiccup what are you doing?"- (y/n)

"Did you seriously think I would let you do this alone? Besides all that look at its tail. It's hurt, try gaining it's trust. You know what to do."- Hiccup

(Y/n) moves in a little closer to the monster, but stops short in front of it. He crouched down on one knee and holds out his hand looking away.

"What's he doing?"- Heather

"Trying to see if it he can gain its trust. It's a good idea in theory but this isn't a dragon it's a monster. Then again considering this is a baby it's survivor instincts probably isn't fully developed yet."- Fishlegs

"Shh look."- Astrid

The monster seem to be pretty hesitant at first however it started to move closer and closer to him. It starts to sniff his hand and nudge it a little bit until it finally starts to play with it for like a puppy. Doing this caused (y/n) to laugh and play with it's belly and lightly pick it up.

"There you go little guy see I'm not bad."- (y/n)

"Good job. This is a very interesting looking guy. Astrid the book please."- Hiccup

Astrid also with the others walked over with the book and opened it to the next page so (y/n) can let the monster touch it.

"You want to hold him Heather?"- (y/n)

"Me? Oh no I don't think-"- Heather

"It's fine. It's just like holding a baby. Here."- (y/n)

After he handed Heather the monster seemed to take a instant liking to her. Seeing this however made Astrid roll her eyes, pushing all that aside (y/n) took the monsters hand and put it on the book.

Submissive, water dwelling herbivores that subsist on water grasses and moss. Epioth frequently surface to sunbathe. Extremely timid, they panic when danger is near, swimming about in a haphazard fashion.

"So a dolphin?"- Ruffnut

"I would think it's more like a seal."- Tuffnut

"Let's actually have this conversation away from here. You know before whatever hurt it comes back."- Snotlout

"For once I agree with Snotlout, let's get out of here we can talk about this more back on Berk."- Astrid
