I was watching Rebekah as with the rest of the cheerleading squad at practice, doing some sort of gymnastic moves. She tried to get me to join her, but I refused, I have never or will be a cheerleader. Rebekah was directing the group when Elena walks up to her.

"You! Goody." Rebekah says sarcastically when she sees Elena.

"I was hoping we could talk." Elena asks her bluntly.

"About what? Stefan? Don't worry, I'm off him until he starts treating me better. In fact, you should probably take a page out of my book, if I'm being honest." Rebekah tells her whilst occasionally glancing back at the cheerleaders.

"Actually, I'd rather talk about this." Elena says holding up a picture of some old drawing that look as though they have been carved into a wall.

"I'm curious why you and Klaus have spent a thousand years running from your father." Elena asks with a slight smirk on her face, what is she up to?

"I should get back to the girls. Homecoming's right around the corner." Rebekah tells her before she turns to leave.

"Well then, maybe I'll ask Mikael when we wake him." Elena tells her smugly.

"You're bluffing! You don't know where he is. No one does." Rebekah tells her whipping her head around quickly to face Elena.

"So, then who's rotting in that old cemetery in Charlotte?" Elena asks her flippantly.

"If you wake Mikael, we are all doomed!" Rebekah tells her in fear.

"So then, tell me." Elena says like it is the easiest thing in the world, shouldn't she be guarding Stefan or something.

"Why do you want to know?" Rebekah mutters in defeat.

"Why don't you want me to wake him?" Elena asks her bluntly, way to be nice.

"I need to get back to the girls." Rebekah tells her ignoring the question.

"She doesn't have to tell you anything, her family business is nothing to do with you. Just like how your business isn't hers, I mean do your boy toys even know who you actually are, or how you were the one at fault for me triggering my curse. Leave Rebekah alone." I tell Elena before going back to watch the cheerleaders.

After cheer was over Rebekah dragged me over to the Salvatore's house, she had gotten a runway of compelled women to help her pick a homecoming dress. She had also invited Elena over which had annoyed me, but 'Bekah told me to grow up. Which made me angry so I stopped whining just to suit me, not to help her.

Elena enters the house, I ignore her waiting for Rebekah to get back here. Rebekah walks into the foyer with champagne glasses.

"Hey! What's up?" Rebekah tells her cheerfully. Now I am 50 levels of confusion. I thought she hated Elena, traitor.

"You invited me over? To talk?" Elena asks Rebekah rudely.

"All right girls, have at it!" Rebekah calls in the 'run way' as she would call it. Six girls in various jewel-toned colored homecoming dresses walk in the room.

"Okay, now twirl please." Rebekah asks them.

They twirl and show off the dresses.

"You compelled your own private runway show?" Elena asks her in disbelief.

"I need a Homecoming dress. As does Aria. So, what do you think? Pick one for me and one for her." Rebekah asks her as I get up and grab a drink.

"I'm not here to help you shop. I'm here to talk about why you don't want me to wake up Mikael." Elena tells her. Rebekah rushes to one of the girls, grabs her neck and vamps out.

"I said "pick one" for each of us, Elena." Rebekah says with veins still running under her eyes.

"The...red one for you and the blue for Aria."

Elena replies nervously.

"There. It wasn't so hard, was it? Go away. Remember nothing." Rebekah addresses Elena before telling the girls to leave. The girls leave and she picks up her champagne glass and walks to Elena.

"You do not threaten me. You'll learn what I allow you to learn. Is that clear?" Rebekah tells her threateningly. And Elena meekly nods in reply. Rebekah walks past her and Elena turns and watches her.

Rebekah makes her way through the house then opens the door to Stefan's room and enters. Elena stays at the doorway. Whilst I enter quickly after her.

"How fun is this...?" Rebekah asks Elena as She starts opening drawers.

"We shouldn't be here..." Elena says, I mean what is with this good girl act!?

'"Course we should! Come on, like you've never wanted to snoop." Rebekah smirks at Elena knowing she is making her nervous.

"Boxer briefs. A lot has changed since the twenties." She says holding his underwear up.

"Bekah no offence or anything, but I really don't want to know about Stefan Salvatore's underwear." I tell her seriously.

"Don't ruin the fun Ari." She tells me before huffing and closing the draw back up.

"Are you gonna root through his stuff all night or are you gonna start to tell me your story?" Elena cuts in.

"Ah...you really are no fun. What do you want to know?" Rebekah asks her as Elena walks into the room.

"Well, Elijah said that your father was a landowner in Europe. How did you guys end up here?" Elena asks her curiously.

"My parents had just started a family, when a plague struck their homeland. They lost a child to it. They wanted to escape and protect their future family from the same fate." Rebekah says whilst opening another of Stefan's draws to look through it.

"So, how did you end up here? This part of the world hadn't even been discovered yet." Elena asks her stupidly.

"Not by anyone in your history books. But my mother knew the witch Ayana, who heard from the spirits of a mystical land where everyone was healthy...blessed by the gifts of speed and strength. That lead my family here, where we lived amongst those people." Rebekah tells her with a small laugh.

"The werewolves?" Elena questions,

"To us, they were just our neighbors. My family lived in peace with them for over 20 years, during which time my family had more children, including me." Rebekah tells her.

"You make it sound so normal." Elena says.

"It was." Rebekah tells her.

Flashback to the 900s. 3rd POV, normal is voice over.

"Once a month our family retreated into the caves beneath our village. The wolves would howl through the night and by morning we'd return home..." Rebekah begins.

Rebekah is looking at all different sorts of necklaces/talismans hanging on a rope in Ayana's window. She touches one and it burns her fingers.

"Ayana, you burned me!" Rebekah scolds her.

"That is not yours to touch." Ayana replies simply.

"Mother!!!" Klaus screams out from outside.

" Is that Niklaus? Something is wrong." Rebekah asks Ayana.

Klaus outside and is carrying the dead body of his little brother Henrik. With tears streaming down his face as he stumbles through the small village.

"Henrik!" Rebekah yells out seeing the situation of her younger brother.

"Mother!!!" Klaus yells out ignoring Rebekah.

"One full moon, Klaus and my youngest brother Henrik snuck out to watch the men turn into beasts. That was forbidden. Henrik paid the price..." Rebekah continues thinking back to the day that changed her life.

"No, no!! What happened?" Esther sobs leaning over Henrik's body.

"The wolves! I am sorry, I'm so sorry!" Klaus continues to sob out.

"We must save him. Please, there must be a way!" Esther asks Ayana tears still streaming down her face.

"The spirits will not give us a way, Esther. Your boy is gone." Ayana says calmly.

"No! No!!!" Esther yells out clutching Henrik's body.

"And that was the beginning of the end of peace with our neighbors.." Rebekah tells the other girls in the room.

Flashback end!!!

"And one of the last moments my family had together as humans." Rebekah tells Elena as she stares into space reliving the memories of loosing her brother.

Elena's phone vibrates, snapping them out of Rebekah's memories.

"You better get that. That'll be Damon checking up on you. I need to speak to Aria quickly anyway." Rebekah says as Elena leaves the room. She then walks over to me.

"Did you know? About Henrik?" She asks me tearfully. I nod slowly.

"I didn't know the story, I just knew about him. Nik told me." I tell her and she nods.

"Have you been speaking to Nik." She asks me now happy again, one minute she is sad the next she is happy, what the hell?!

"No, I called him last night, but I was still wound up about the prank night. I just want to make up with him, but he is so bloody stubborn. And I want Elijah back." I tell her slightly upset but keeping my emotions in.

"My brother is stubborn, and sometimes he does really stupid things but he looks at you like you his world, he has never done that before. Just give it time he will come round, but don't give up on him Aria. As for Elijah, he will be back soon enough, I will make sure of it, ok?" She tells me with a smile which I return, before Elena walks back in.

Rebekah then goes back to lying on the bed, going through one of Stefan's diaries.

"Did you get your fill of snooping yet? Can we get on with the story?" Elena asks her rudely making me glare at her.

Rebekah gets up; she picks up a photo of Elena and Stefan from a table. Before walking back closer to Elena flipping it over.

"Honestly, I don't get you two as a couple. What about you Aria, what do you think of them together?" Rebekah asks me.

"Well I think Stefan could do better Bekah, maybe with someone like you." I tell her with a cheeky smile. I look to see Elena glaring daggers in the back of my head.

"Why would you? You don't know anything about who he really is." Elena snips at her.

"I know exactly who he is. He's a vampire. We're a predatory species. We don't have time to care about humans and their silly little lives." Rebekah says whilst walking closer to Elena.

"Is that why you did that runway show earlier? 'Cause you don't care about the Homecoming Dance...You know what, I'm just gonna go." Elena asks her frustrated, getting up to leave.

"You haven't even heard half the story. Rebekah tells her.

"And you are not going to tell it. You're just bored and looking for someone to push around. Find someone else to play with...maybe you can compel yourself a friend. One better than Aria." Elena snaps to Rebekah going to leave now.

"The necklace wasn't Stefan's to give. It belonged to the Original Witch. And don't be mean to Ari, or you will loose your front teeth." Rebekah tells her making Elena interested again.

"The one who put the hybrid curse on Klaus?" Elena asks her turning back around.

"Not just the hybrid curse. She's the one who turned us into vampires." Rebekah tells her going to sit down by Stefan's desk.

Flashback to the 900s, 3rd PoV

Mikael, Esther and Ayana are standing in a room lit by a fire and torches.

"Please, Ayana! I implore you! You must call upon the spirits before the next full moon." Mikael begs the witch standing across from him.

"I will not! It is a crime against nature." Ayana refuses.

"Ayana, we have already lost too much. We cannot lose any more...The spirits can help us find a way to protect our children." Esther pleads her. Not noticing that Rebekah is eavesdropping from the next room.

Flashback end!!!!!

"I'm thirsty. Do you want a drink?" Rebekah asks leaving Stefan's room with Elena following behind her, with me meandering slowly behind them both. She goes down to the library.

"So, vampirism was a form of protection?" Elena asks her.

"What else would it be?" Rebekah questions.

"A curse?" Elena says.

"My parents only saw a way of keeping their children alive." Rebekah tells her.

"Yeah, but why stay, if they were so afraid of the werewolves? Why not...leave?" Elena questions.

"Pride...My father didn't want to run anymore. He wanted to fight and be superior to the wolves. Where they could bite, we had to bite harder. Where they had speed, we had to be faster. Agility, strength, senses..." Rebekah tells her slowly struggling to get the words out.

Flashback to 900s, 3rd PoV.

Mikeal , Esther and Ayana continue talking in their home.

"Everything could be heightened. Our family could live forever..." mikael tells the witches.

"At what cost? This magic you speak of breeds consequence. This is the makings of a plague, Esther. The spirits will turn on you." Ayana tells them in frustration.

"Please, Ayana." Esther begs her.

"I will have no part in it." Ayana tells them before she leaves the home. Mikael closes the door and speaks to Esther.

"If she will not protect our family...then it is in your hands alone, my love." Mikeal tells her softly.

Flashback end!!!!

"In her hands? How could she do anything?" Elena asks curiously.

"Because my mother was also a witch." Rebekah tells her wondering around the room.

"What?" Elena asks her stupidly, like seriously it isn't that hard.

"The witch of the Original Family. The Original Witch?" Rebekah mocks in response. As we re-enter the library.

"Where do they keep their best vintage?" Rebekah asks Elena looking through the shelves.

"But if your mother was a witch, then..." Elena questions.

"Am I? No, a witch is nature's servant; a vampire is an abomination of nature. You can either be one or the other, never both. My mother did this for us. She did not turn." Rebekah tells her with a slight sad tone.

"How did you turn?" Elena asks.

":She called upon the sun for life, and the ancient white oak tree, one of nature's eternal objects, for immortality. That night, my father offered us wine laced with blood. And then he drove his sword through our hearts." Rebekah says emotionlessly, I do not react already knowing the story.

"He killed you?" Elena whispers out stunned by the story.

"And he wasn't delicate about it either." Rebekah says as She takes a bottle of wine, breaks its neck off with one motion of her hand and throws it into the fireplace.]

Flashback Back to the 900s;, normal voice over also 3rd.

shortly after Mikael turned the children into vampires; Rebekah and Klaus awaken on the floor with blood on their clothes.

"Rebekah..." klaus gasps as he wakes up.

"Blood! What happened?" Rebekah gasps out as touches her nightgown where she had been stabbed.

"You will be alright! We will all be alright." Klaus attempts to calm his panicked sister, when Mikael enters with a girl.

"What are you doing?" Klaus asks his brother confused and scared.

"We must finish what we started! You have to drink if you want to live." Mikeal tells them as he cuts the girl's wrist open that he had just thrown over to them.

"We had to drink more blood to complete the ritual." Rebekah says solemnly.

"Drink!" Mikeal shouts to Rebekah, she hesitates. "Drink!" He shouts again. Klaus tries to stop him, but Mikael pushes him aside; Rebekah starts to drink the girl's blood "Drink!!!" Mikeal demands again as she begins drinks deeply, and dark veins appear around her eyes.

"It was euphoric! The feeling of power was indescribable...but the witch Ayana was right about the consequences. The spirits turned on us, and nature fought back...For every strength there would be a weakness..." Rebekah tells Elena.

Rebekah is being burned by sunlight through the window.

"The sun became our enemy. It kept us indoors for weeks..." Rebekah continues.

Rebekah is seen walking around outside during the day, glancing at her daylight ring.

"And though my mother found a solution, there were other problems..." Rebekah says.

Villagers are seen running into their homes at the sight of Rebekah coming toward them.

"Neighbors who had opened their homes to us could now keep us out." Rebekah continues emotionlessly.

Rebekah is seen touching a vervain plant and getting burned by it.

"Flowers at the base of the white oak burned, and prevented compulsion. And the spell decreed that the tree that gave us life could also take it away...so we burned it to the ground." Rebekahsays staring into space.

The huge tree is seen enveloped in flames, as Mikael, Elijah, Rebekah and Klaus watch.

"But the darkest consequence was something my parents never anticipated..." Rebekah says sadly clearly burdened by her vampirism.

Villagers are seen carrying a slaughtered pig tied to a rod to be spit-roasted.

"The hunger. Blood...had made us reborn and it was blood that we craved above all else. We could not control it... But mother did create someone for each of my siblings a soulmate that could ground them, someone who would always be there for them... I haven't met mine 2 of my brothers have and that is Aria... I cannot wait to meet mine..." Rebekah draws on .

Rebekah is seen staring at the villagers; she gasps and tries to resist, but then vamps out and hurries to them and kills them by feeding on them.

"And with that, the predatory species was born..." Rebekah finishes.

Flashback end!!!!!

"Why did Mikael start hunting Klaus?" Elena asks.

"When Nik made his first human kill, it triggered his werewolf gene. With that, he became my father's greatest shame." Rebekah tells her.

"Yeah. Elijah told me this part of the story. Your mother had had an affair with one of the werewolf villagers. Klaus wasn't his son." Elena tells Rebekah.

"She tried to make it right. She put the hybrid curse on Nik to suppress his werewolf side, and then she turned her back on him. But Mikael's greatest weakness as a human was his pride. As a vampire, that was magnified. He went on a rampage and killed half the village. Then he came home and killed her." Rebekah tells her.

"Mikael killed your mother?" Elena gasps in shock.

"He said she broke his heart so he would break hers. He tore it from her chest as Nik watched." Rebekah says.

Flashback to just after they were turned. 3rd PoV . Normal voiceover.

Klaus buries their mother as Rebekah watches.

"Afterwards, my father took off in a rage, and the rest of my family scattered. Nik stayed, so he could help me bury her. He knew I had to say goodbye to my mother." Rebekah says.

Rebekah and Klaus stand side by side at the grave.

"I know you think she hated you, Niklaus, but she did not. She was just afraid. I'm sorry she turned her back on you. I will never do that." Rebekah tells her brother

"Nor will I." Elijah says walking over to them.

"We stick together as one. Always and forever." Rebekah says as she, Klaus, and Elijah all hold hands in a circle around the grave.

Flashback end!!!!

"Always and forever...even though he locked you in a coffin for ninety years?" Elena asks Rebekah in disbelief.
