《The Gotham Ghost King》Such a Drama King

3rd Person
A running figure in a black and blue suit comes to a dead stop. "Like our Will? William freaking Aelius?" he says.
"Uh huh. Blonde hair, pretty tall, bright orange shirt, same body structure. It's him." A figure in red replies over their comms.
"Keep us updated and don't engage in battle yet. We'll be there in a minute," said a black covered figure.
The figure in blue ran again, running and jumping faster and faster, arriving at the bank in a fraction of the time.
"Where's Bats?" he asks.
"Here," Batman replies, stepping out of the shadows. "Catwoman has Will and three others hostage. Two of them are police officers and I couldn't see the last one well enough to identify them. Though, they are pretty short, so they are most likely a teenage girl or a younger teenage boy."
In his worry, Nightwing paces until he jumped on top of the nearby lamp post. "Do we have a plan?" he questions.
Before anyone could reply, a shadow fell from the sky, landing in a kneeling position.
It ran at Catwoman, pulling a dark purple sword out of seemingly nowhere and began fighting her, bullwhip verses sword.
"Go get the hostages," Batman whispers to Nightwing.
Before he could respond, a bright light appeared, revealing an angelic figure dressed in white, with a crown of laurel and a sash of light, and a cypress staff held at his right. No less beautiful were the wings of white and gold unfolded, flapping slowly in the air.
He hovered for what seemed like an eternity, before opening his eyes and revealing pure white light.
Diving to the ground in a fraction of a second, landing on his feet. In one swift motion, he grabbed his staff with both hands, slamming it into the ground in front of him.

A bright burst of light exploded out of the bottom of the staff the moment it touched the ground.
Blinking furiously, the vigilantes took up fighting stances, rightfully wary as their vision slowly returned.
They scanned the area and noticed that two of the hostages, the two police officers, were on the other side of the police border, while the Italian and the blond, as well as Catwoman, had disappeared.
"Where are Will and Nico?" Red Hood snarled.
"Who?" The shadowy figure questioned.
"Will and Nico. The other two hostages." Batman growled.
"Oh. The blond and the Italian. I sent them back to where they should be. I believe that they are in Wayne Manor? If you like, we can give you three a moment alone to call Mr. Wayne?" The shadow questioned.
On top of the lamp post, Nightwing responded "If you could."
"C'mon Rex," The shadow figure said, as he fell backwards and disappeared into the shadows without a sound..
"Such a drama king," the winged being muttered. He folded his wings around himself and tucked his head down, disappearing with a flash.
"I'm calling A," Bruce stated as he ran off.
Minutes passed in tense silence as they waited for a response.
"They're fine. Agent A reported that he found them about to watch that movie that Tony Stark did. Iron Man 1 or whatever it's called. We can check on them when we get back to base" Batman said as he swung back in.
They all breathed a sigh of relief, before Jason asked "When are those two going to get back?"
Nightwing leaned forward and said "I don't-" before he was interrupted by a winged figure flying out of the light. He jumped back, forgetting that he was on a lamp post, and toppling off the edge.

The winged being turned sharply around and flew over Nightwing, leaving a trail of gold dust behind him. That dust gathered under him, creating a golden platform, which slowly lowered him to the ground.
"What the h*ll," Red Hood muttered.
The shadows collected on the ground, in the shape of a grave. Shadow rose from the ground, almost like a zombie in a bad movie, as it got up and swiftly moved to stand against a wall.
"Rex. Turn the lighting up please," The shadow said.
The winged being took his staff off of his back and slammed it against the ground in one fluid motion.
As they watched, a circle formed around them, and then the area started to brighten around them all.
When the light finally got bright enough to see, I clearly saw the superheroes for the first time, lounging on a throne of darkness and a throne of light.
"Hello. You may call me Ghost King, and this is my significant other, Rex Angeli. We are here to save your world."
—————...—————
So. Uhm. I know I was supposed to have this out seven hours ago. And that I left you all on a slight cliffhanger. And that I was planning to hit a thousand words. BUT, I have a reason and an explanation.
So, I'm a sophomore in high school, and I'm taking an AP class. That AP class happens to be very heavily notes based. So, that means that on top of all my school activities, I am also being told to do an hour of homework a night for a single class. OVERALL, this means that I have less time to write. I will still be getting things out, just be ready for things to be late.
Question of the Chapter;
What would make good nicknames for Ghost and Rex? Or bad nicknames. I'll take anything.
If you made it this far, here's a cool picture of Nico that I found on Instagram, and a spoiler that I drew.
Yes, I drew that, and no, that is not Rex. Who do you think that is?
Sorry again!

Nobody's Way
Foreign Thorn: Book 1 For eight centuries, the people of Isla have wanted for nothing. The Creator, Maere, uses Her power not only to keep them healthy and fed, but also to map the direction of each person's future Path - their vocation, role in society, and even the partner they'll spend their life with. All is not well among the people of the northern lands, however, as Jian discovers when she receives her own long-awaited Path. The Creator has chosen to favour some towns, but not others, leading to anarchy and unrest in the east, and fierce distrust between the neighbours who enjoy Her protection and those who don't. After many nights of disturbing premonitions, visions of a face uncannily familiar to her, and a voice beckoning her to "Homeland," Jian decides she needs to find answers for herself. She hires Madrigal, a surly young traveller hailing from an "unblessed" village, to take her to the southern lands. The swordsman is on the run from something, or someone, but Jian has no choice but to trust him. When the two leave the safety of the familiar and meet Quinn, a mysterious boy who seems to know more about Jian than she does about herself, it becomes clear that there are forces besides the old magics, forces completely unknown to the people of Isla, in play. In a city of darkness and murder, the greatest danger is found in the mind.Alany hasn’t tracked anyone since the war, but when his lover goes missing, old skills are all he can trust. With no other leads, he is forced to contact a mysterious network of telepathic magi, and risk his sanity for hope. When the mind is no longer sanctuary, and even memories can be bartered, is there still power in love? The first book of a new series in Edward Eidolon’s Fae Mythos. A note from the Author: PLEASE leave a review and alert me of any plot holes, weak portions, and anything else. I am in desperate need of beta readers and feedback. I wrote this around the new year, 2020. It's about 40k words and the first in a planned series that follows Gar "Alany" Darron and his agency of detectives as they track missing persons in the city of Throne. I have the sequel planned but not written. Once this one is completely uploaded, I'll be uploading another, unrelated series that as of right now is roughly 160k words long, and somewhere in there, I'll write the sequel to Frame of Mind. I plan to go back and forth between the two series for the foreseeable future. Thanks for reading.
