《Kindred Spirits》Chapter 17

Zola has been standing in front of the mirror for the past hour since she woke up, rubbing her eye, ever so often.
"So tell me again why my eyes changed?" She muttered to the person behind her.
"Because of the power that runs through you know. Zola, you are not just any witch. You are our mother. Our leader. We bow down to you" Emily states, trying to comfort the girl's running mind.
"If that's so, why do I only see you?"
"Because everyone else is scared, we may be stuck on the other side but if you really wanted to, you could send everyone here to somewhere worse. Far worse. I just happen to be brave"
Zola huffed, turning around to face Emily "Brave or desperate?"
Emily scoff, stepping closer to her "What?"
"If I have the power or eventually have the power to destroy the other side, then that also means I will have the power to bring everyone back" Zola explains, obviously trying to see if this witch has other plans.
"I wish to come back but for now, I am here to help guide you. Now get up, and get ready. Your monstrosities are coming up to tell you something important" Emily states firmly. Zola groans ready to throw a fit. "What now?"
Emily sighs "You are needed now more than ever Zola"
Zola closes her eyes, trying to help lessen the headache that's starting to form but when she opens Emily was gone, and her lovely mates were walking through the door.
"Zola, love. Are you feeling okay? You seem a little pale" Klaus asked, concerned for his mate.
"I'm okay, just my head hurts"
Elijah helps Zola from in front of the mirror and sits her down on the bed.
"Was it that Bennett witch you were talking to again?"
Zola nods, resting her head onto Elijah's shoulder, who sat next to her. Klaus and Elijah lock eye contact and start glaring at each other, neither wanting to give their ill mate the bad news they have.
"You do know I can practically feel the glares coming from you two right?" Zola retorts, opening her eyes to look at her tense mates "What happened?"
"Well Elskan" Elijah starts, knowing she needs to know "It's about your father. He got locked up"
Zola gasped, shooting straight up "What?!"
---------------
"We might be on bad terms, but what the hell is wrong with you and your dating choices?" Zola yells at her father, storming into the cells with Klaus, and Elijah behind her.
Damon, Sheriff Forbes, and Alaric, staring at her, shocked for many reasons.

"What the hell happened to your eyes?"
"Who told you what happened?"
"How did you get back here?"
They all asked at once, leaving Zola annoyed.
The lights start to flicker and her mates grow tense, knowing that this is her doing.
"My love, you need to calm down. You are working yourself up" Klaus and Elijah walk closer to her, both touching her to bring some relief.
"They are right, Zola. Remember what I said. Breathe and feel the tension leaving your body" Emily said, standing behind Damon and older Forbes.
Zola just doing that, does the witchy exercise Emily taught for control. Which works.
"ZoZo, you okay?" Alaric hesitantly asked, concerned for his daughter.
"I'm fine" Zola hissed, still aggravated "And to answer your questions. My eyes happened the other day, you know the day you tried killing my mates and family. Two, Nik's hybrids caught word of what happened and three, I have vampires as mates"
"Now that we are here. We are going to talk about your choice of dating"
Alaric scoff "You're one to talk"
Zola purses her mouth, feeling like she is wasting her time "Guess that apple doesn't fall far from the tree huh?"
"How long is he gonna stay here for?" Zola asked the Sheriff but she shrugs "I don't know. We need solid evidence that it wasn't him"
Zola nods, pointing at Damon "You, get to working on that" She then leaves, can't stand being in there anymore.
Damon looks towards Alaric, confused. "Who made her in charge?"
Alaric shrugs, feeling solemn and guilty for what they are planning.
His daughter is looking really happy.
Without him in her life.
Zola feels like throwing up. She groans, cuddling into the couch more.
"Elskan, what's wrong? You've been like this since this morning"
Elijah tries rubbing her back but she moves away from his touch, feeling more and more sick everytime one of the Mikaelson tries to touch her.
"Maybe you have the flu? That's a human thing, right?" Rebekah proposed, trying to help her older brother who looks upset for his mate.
"I'm sorry Lili, I just" Zola sighed, sitting up looking at the Mikaelson siblings "I feel sick in my stomach everytime one of you touches me, and I feel like it's a vision trying to come out but won't. Which is resulting me to feel sick"
"Well it's lucky, I have her here. Maybe she can help seeing that she is a witch. A Bennett witch at that" Klaus stated, entering the room with a wary Bonnie behind him.
"What the?" Zola mutters, looking at the two confused.

"Niklaus, why is the Bennett witch here?" Elijah questioned, moving more in front of their mate, shielding her from any possible dangers.
"Esther used the power of their bloodline to link us so now that our dear brother Kol found her, dead. She will have to do the unlinking herself. But first things first, figure out why Zo is feeling sick" Klaus demanded, daring the witch to do anything but this.
Bonnie nods, moving towards Zola slowly, weirded out by her eyes. Zola makes eye contact with her, and Bonnie gasps, feeling like she needs to suddenly bow down and beg for forgiveness from her.
"Well, I have to leave. I got some things to do. Let me know how everything is ZoZo" Rebekah calls out, already walking out the door before anyone can stop here.
"How's my father?" Zola asked, beckoning Bonnie to come closer
"He is fine. I gave him some herbs that help block the alter ego if he takes them that is." Bonnie replies. Zola nods, giving her hand to Bonnie, seeing if she can help.
But Emily stops her, pulling her hand away from Bonnie "Don't"
Bonnie looks shocked from the movement, but Zola just felt annoyed
Zola sighs, turning to face Emily "What now?"
Bonnie looks at Zola and back towards Klaus and Elijah who looks used to this "Is she okay?"
"Yes," Klaus stated, leaning against the doorway. "Sort of"
"You can't trust her. She sides with Damon and Stefan, and I think they are up to something" Emily sighs worriedly, glaring at her descendant "Maybe you should just take her magic away like you did to Esther. Might avoid future problems"
"But..." Emily cuts Zola off, looking at her pleadingly "Please. Just until I found out what's going on with the Salvatores and the incessant children"
Zola sighs, waving her hand to Emily letting her do what she needs to do "Fine but hurry please. I've been feeling sick all day"
Emily furrowed her eyebrows at Zola, looking at her like she is some dumb child
"It's because you are stressed and not letting magic out Zola. Advice, you have two indestructible mates, use them"
Zola starts to smile slowly, turning slowly to her lovely mates. Klaus and Elijah look at her, expecting for her to say something instead of just staring at them.
"So remember that time you said you would be my punching bag for free?"
"No but keep going" Elijah stated, moving towards his mate feeling the need to touch her.
"Well Emily told me I can get rid of this sickness if I get rid of my frustration. So since Klaus has to deal with Bonnie over here, you Lili can help me" Zola sheepishly states, smiling ever so lovingly at her mate.
Elijah pursed his lips knowing that she is just acting right now, trying to get what she wants but he agrees nonetheless, not being able to say no to his lover.
"Sorry love, it's gonna have to be after we come back. One of my hybrids found Finn and Elijah and I needed to go get him. But you stay here and keep Bonnie here company"
Zola nods, accepting the kisses they gave her before they left. She turns around to see Bonnie looking at her confused.
"You said Emily. As in the Bennett?"
"Weird right"
Zola sits down across from Bonnie, studying her.
"Why are you seeing-"
"Be quiet" Zola demands, trying to practise her magic on the Bennett. This is something Emily showed her how to do. Being able to control a witch through her psychic powers. Plus, maybe she can get rid of some magic while at it.
When that witch from Chicago told her amongst other things, she really meant it.
Bonnie looks shocked and scared, feeling forced to stop talking. She tries to open her mouth to talk but her jaw feels frozen in place.
"Wow, I'm shocked that it actually worked. I've been practising on ghosts which doesn't matter much since they barely have any power but it's good to know it works on you" Zola smirks, almost evilly. Klaus did teach her how to intimidate people over the summer.
"You know those visions weren't actually visions but rather the witches trying to warn me of suspicious things. And when they betrayed me, not that I would've known, they came to me begging for forgiveness, which I gave them. Not really their fault" Zola stated shrugging, leaning more into her seat "Emily though, has been teaching me all sorts of things. And I guess I am grasping it, just fine. You can talk now"
Bonnie gasped, rubbing her jaw from the stiff feeling that rested on it. "Your eyes. Is that a backfire for that power you hold?"
Zola shrugs "Emily said it was."
"What else did Emily say?"
"Not to trust you, and speaking of the devil" Zola states, focusing her attention onto Emily who is standing behind Bonnie, ready to intervene.
"They have the white oak stakes Zola, and they both have one too"
Zola looks towards Bonnie, glaring. "Really?"
Bonnie grows tense, quickly glancing behind Zola to see someone sneaking up on her. But didn't do them any good when Zola stood up slowly.
"Good for you to join us, Tyler"

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
