《Mesmerizing Mr. Mafia》The Romeo and Juliet Project

I felt like a zombie...
And upon further inspection, I came to find out that I looked like one too, "What happened to my face...and my arms?" I asked Dom after seeing the bloodied scratches. Angelo was driving so I didn't bother to ask him, knowing that he wasn't a great multitasker.
"Do you remember anything, gattina?" He asked and I shook my head. "Sienna and Lorenzo brought you to a club and then they shot heroin into your system."
I kinda remember that. That doesn't explain the scratches though.
"You got too much, so we took you to the hospital where you preceded to flip the fuck out. You thought there were spiders on you, so you scratched as hard as you could. Got Angelo pretty good too," he motioned to Angelo's cheek where a small little scratch had formed.
"It doesn't even hurt," he commented, as if we were all gonna think he was weak or something if he said it did in fact hurt.
"So...what's with the getups? Where we going?" I took in the sights of the two mafia men in clothing the exact opposite of what they should be wearing. They were dressed as cops.
Weirdos.
"Your house. Gotta tell your daddy what happened so you don't get shot," Dom said. "Sienna's probably already over there lying."
"Probably. You know we're going the wrong way right? My house is on the opposite side of the city in the other direction."
Angelo sighed, "Well shit."

It seemed like the walk up the driveway was longer than it usually was. I mean, it was no small thing so walking it never was quick, but it just seemed a lot longer now.
I was shocked to see my dad and Violet standing outside the front door, as if they knew to expect us. I raced over to my dad and wrapped my arms around him. I haven't hugged him in a long time, it was much needed. "Are you ok, Chloe? Are you hurt?" He asked.
I shook my head, instantly changing my mind, "Well actually I'm not ok, no thanks to Sienna and Lorenzo. Dad, why did you let me go with them? Why do you even let Sienna out of the house? She's a monster."

"I left it up to you, Chloe. You chose to go with them."
Touché daddio.
"So, what exactly happened?" Dad asked Dom and Angelo, being fooled by their disguises. Honestly, if he or anyone else would have looked a little harder, they would have seen that their costumes were totally cheap. "Where did you find Chloe? 'Cause Sienna said-"
Dom cleared his throat to stop my dad from saying something that was probably going to be stupid, "She just got out of the hospital, actually. I can assure you that whatever Sienna said was probably a lie. She's a drug addict. Another word for liar."
"Sienna's not the one who ran away from home though to live in New York for a month. I'm just saying that maybe she isn't the bad guy. Maybe someone shot heroin into her arm and not Chloe's," Dad said, causing all of our jaws to drop.
"Chloe could have died," Angelo stepped in. Finally. "And you're going to take sides with a repeat drug offender? Where the hell is the logic in that?"
Whoa there mafia man, don't blow your cover because of me.
Violet gave him a disapproving look, "Why are you two even here?"
"Escorting Chloe back home. Who else was going to do it? Is Lorenzo here?" Angelo asked, his patience becoming thin.
"Yeah, he's inside," dad answered immediately. "You're getting him out of my house, right?"
"Yep."
Lorenzo went with Dom and Angelo without a fight, Sienna was the one who protested her cold little heart out.
She was currently getting it handed to her downstairs by my dad. He finally decided to believe that she actually had a drug problem.
Let me tell you something, I've never heard him yell so loud at anybody. Not even the worst employee he's ever had. I've also never heard so many bad words come from Sienna which resulted in my dad saying bad words, another what the hell kind of thing.
I had just gotten done taking a shower and I could hear them bickering even while I was inside of it, the water on full blast.
I slipped on a pair of black leggings and an oversized, knit, gray, long sleeve shirt. It was the perfect sleep attire for those super cold winter nights and conveniently, the heaters were broken.

Brad said dad was having someone over to fix it tomorrow morning. That wasn't acceptable when you were raised in the lap of luxury. I wanted my heat and I wanted it now.
I padded out of the bathroom and into my room, locking the door behind me. I had a weird feeling someone was going to try and walk in to talk to me, but I was tired, so the lock was currently my best friend.
I jumped onto my bed after grabbing the iPad off my nightstand, and shimmied underneath the covers. My bed was my favorite part about my room. It was large, a California King sizer with a canopy and one of the softest mattresses of all time.
I waited for Netflix to log on as I played Temple Run 2 on that phone Angelo gave me when suddenly a message came up from yours truly.
All it said was: .
I responded with:
Almost instantly the app disappeared and his blank contact picture came up. He was calling me. I let it ring a few times just because I knew it would kill him and his damn impatience.
"Yes?" I asked, finally answering him.
"Is your window unlocked? I'm about to pull some real Romeo and Juliet shit."
My heart skipped a beat as I moved to my window to see Angelo standing two stories underneath. How was he planning on getting up here? And then I saw Luca all the way across the hard, struggling to carry a ladder.
"You're looking mighty casual, Angelo. Where's your fancy clothes? I liked them," I whined while taking in the sight of him in what he would wear to bed. Sweatpants and a black hoody.
"I don't wear that type of clothing to bed, amore mia. You of all people should know that. Hell, I'm wearing more right now than I usually wear to bed."
This was a true statement.
"Oh...y-you're sleeping h-here?" I stuttered, sounding like a complete idiot. "With me?"
"Well," he said while helping Luca straighten up the ladder, "Gotta keep you safe. Sienna is pissed," he said, now slowly and quietly ascending the ladder.
"What's Luca doing here though?" I asked, knowing there was no way I could hide two grown men in my room.
Angelo ended the call since he was already crawling through my window at this point, "He's here to put the ladder back so that things don't look too...out of place," he smirked, slowly getting even closer to me, so close now that our bodies were pushed up against each other, "I missed you, criceto."
My breathing hitched in my throat, "It's been like...an hour, maybe two." I didn't mean to sound so unenthusiastic about him being here because honestly, I thought that after tonight he might have just left with the rest of his band of merry men for who knows how long. That's what really bothered me.
I hated that my heart was slowly falling madly in love with everything I knew was wrong.
"Your comments are not needed. They could totally ruin this moment for me," he cupped my cheek in his hand and softly traced his thumb across one of my scratches. I looked up at him to see him already staring down at me.
That really set the mood and I wanted for nothing else other than his lips to be pressed firmly against mine.
I didn't know if he was thinking the same thing, but the look he was giving was definitely giving me some hope. I didn't feel like making the first move again, like I had in that one store in New York. I wasn't feeling very ballsy today. Actually, I was feeling like shit right now because of Sienna and Lorenzo.
"Kiss me," I finally choked out, unable to take another minute without some sort of contact.
He cupped my face in both of his hands now instead of just the one and made a striking move for my lips with his own.

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
