《Say I do》chapter 15: marriage announcement

*Unedited so it contains some grammar mistakes*
I laid in bed reminiscing about my whole 19 years of life. From the first day of high school to the day I lost it all.
I've always been an obedient child. I never did anything illegal nor stupid. And I always thought I was going to be like that- of course until now.
I glance to my side and stare at the man sleeping peacefully next to me. His arms above his head as he slept on his stomach.
The blanket was draped around his waist, revealing his upper body, which was naked.
I peak under the covers, revealing my almost naked body with nothing but bra and pants on.
I did what a typical women would do when she wakes up in the morning finding herself in this situation.
I grabbed the pillow and almost smothered him to death.
"You fucking asshole!" I scream, my voice shaking from the anger.
He grunted whilst his arms went up in the air, pushing me away.
His eyes barely opening as he sleepily murmured something. I wrapped the blanket tightly under my armpits to hold it in place as I wacked him with the pillow.
"What did you do to me?!" I yelled.
I had a vague memory of last night and the only think I remembered was having a few drinks. When I say 'few' I mean..10-12.
He grabbed the pillow and threw it across the room. He forced himself up, running his hands through his messy morning hair and glaring at me.
"What did I do?" He snorts, a playful smirk on his lips "it's what you did to me last night babe"
He tilted his head slightly to the side, revealing visibly bruised jawline and neck. I grim at the purple-black bruises, which looked awfully like hickeys-
Holy shit. He's not saying what I think he's saying right?
"I did that?" I choke, forgetting to breath.
Liam chuckled. "You sure did babe"
I began to panic and gasped for air. My cheeks flushed red as I felt the need to cry because I was so embarrassed.
"I didn't think you had it in you" Liam coughed, biting his lip which also had a small bruise on it.
Oh God what the heck did I do last night?!
"What happened?" I asked, fearing the answer he was about to give.
He laughs and shrugs."You don't remember?" He frowns "that's a shame..we had fun"
My eyes flashed murder and I grabbed another pillow before throwing it at him. "Asshole"
He grins. "you were all over me last night" he winked.
I really hate this man and the thought of sleeping with him was eating me up inside. I was never stupid enough to drink so much that I'd end up going home with a stranger.
It was all his fault that I got drunk in the first place. I felt stupid and embarrassed that Liam wanted to marry me solely on business and nothing else. He felt nothing towards me- I was almost like a wall that was always in the way. I felt so damn crap that I needed to drink away the feeling.

I sighed and took a deep breath.
"What happened last night?" I asked Liam, in a calm manner.
He was leaning against the headboard, one hand behind his head as he scrolled through his phone. His eyes flickered to mine and my heart skipped a beat.
His lips formed into a devious smirk and I was trying so hard from murdering him.
"You got drunk" he replied.
I waited for him to continue but he didn't.
"And?"
"You drunk called me"
I grit my teeth. "And?"
"I picked you up"
Once again he paused and I lost it. "For fuck sake Liam, stop playing around and tell me"
He snickered.
"I brought you home and you decided to get frisky"
Oh God.
I lower my head in shame. I never knew I was this sort of person.
"Did we.." I trailed off "did we do..it?"
Please say no please say no
"No"
"Thank God!" I sighed with relief, throwing myself on the bed. Nothing else mattered and I could finally sleep in peace knowing I didn't give my virginity away to this jerk.
"Don't look too happy" Liam grunted with sarcasm.
I snort. "I'm just glad you weren't my first-"
I bit my tongue hard as I cursed under my breath. I.just.admitted.that.I.am.A.virgin.kill.me.now.
Liam choked on air. "You're a Virgin?!" He asked in disbelief.
I covered my face with my hands. "Why are you so surprised?" I mutter.
He erupted into a fit of laughter. He held his stomach as he continue to laugh like a maniac.
"What's so funny?" I snap, annoyed.
"Nothing" he states, wiping away his fake tears "it's just that..last night said otherwise"
I grit my teeth. "Shut up..I wasn't that bad"
He raised his eyebrow at me. "Have you seen the hickeys?"
I blush a crimson red and purchased my lips together.
"Did..I do anything else?" I asked, cautiously.
A tiny part of me feared that I might have confessed things that I shouldn't have.
His eyes lit up. "You agreed to marry me" he states, leaning forward decreasing the gap between us.
I gulp. "I was drunk"
He chuckles. "So? You said yes"
I roll my eyes. Saying yes was probably the last thing I'd say.
"No way" I said.
"You also said you wanted to have kids as soon as possible" Liam smirked.
Adeline you better never touch a drink ever again.
"No way" I mumbled, hiding my shame.
I couldn't stand to listen to it any longer and grabbed the blanket before running off into the toilet.
"Jesus Adeline, just leave me naked why don't you?" Liam yelled from the other room.
I slid down the door and gasped for air. I couldn't control my heart beat which hit against the roof.
I was making everything worse for myself. Just when I thought that I could get away from Liam by breaking of the engagement this happens! How could I be so stupid and let my guard down.

Now I was in a bigger mess than before. How do I just walk out of here like nothing happened.
"Adeline" Liam called, banging his fist against the door. I jumped and quickly got up, stepping back.
"I really need to go" he mumbled.
I roll my eyes. "You have like 10 bathrooms"
"By the time I get to any, I'd probably piss all over the place" he grunted.
I stiffened a laugh. I wanted to make him suffer. "I'm busy" I retort.
I heard a groan and a loud bang against the door.
"Come on Ad" he pleaded and I could hear the desperation in his voice.
I smirked. "Buy me a unlimited supply of food and it's all yours"
There was a long pause and for a second I thought he was going to say no.
"Fine"
I squealed with delight and opened the door. He shoved passed me and pulled his boxers down as I screamed in horror.
"Couldn't you at least wait till I left?!" I screech, running out of the bathroom. Liam just grunted back as a reply.
I sigh and find my clothes scattered on the floor. Just when I was about to put them on there was a sudden knock on the door.
"Liam" a male voice called from the other side.
I gulped. The last time I checked, Liam lived alone. He didn't even have maids or cleaners for that matter. So who the heck was here?
Liam practically sprinted out of the bathroom.
"Grandfather" he breathed.
Shit
"Hide" he uttered before shoving me under the bed before I could even speak.
"Liam, open the door" the voice called again "do not make me wait"
My throat was dry as I tightly gripped onto the blanket around me.
I could see Liam's feet running towards the door as he struggled to put his leg through his jeans. The banging continued and I could hear Liam cursing. I stiffened a laugh.
Liam finally opened the door.
"What took you so long?" The voice asked with a hint of irritation in their voice.
They stepped inside the room.
"Sorry I was..sleeping" Liam lied.
The man cleared his throat. I watch him walk around the room as Liam trailed behind. I silently prayed I didn't get caught.
"At 12pm?" The man asked.
"It's my day off" Liam replied.
There was a long silence.
"I'm not stupid" the man suddenly spoke "so tell her to come out"
My eyes widen in shock. I grit my teeth as my heart sank. Oh crap oh crap.
Liam laughed nervously. "Uh- I don't know-"
"Come out" His grandfather ordered cutting Liam off.
I squirmed as I contemplated whether to go out or not. I was practically naked. The man began to tap his feet impatiently and I had no choice but to get out.
I took a deep breath before crawling out. I quickly stood up, staring at the man standing in front of me.
He was a very tall man with grey hair. He also had a small mustache at the top of his lips. The man looked no older than 65. He wore a black plain suite. I could see the features Liam inherited from him. They both had the same colour eyes.
"You must be?" He asked refusing to break eye contact.
"A-Adeline" I replied, in shame. Our first meeting had to be me getting caught and standing practically naked in front of him.
"The fiancée" he confirmed with a nod.
Liam cleared his throat and stood beside me. I could see that he was embarrassed as much as I was.
"I was hoping to meet you" his Grandfather said "it's just that..I didn't think we'd meet like this"
His eyes flickered between me and Liam as I blushed. Trust me I wasn't expecting to meet you at all.
"So this is what this generation gets up to now huh?" Grandfather laughed dryly.
Liam chucked and scratched the back of his neck.
"I can explain" Liam said.
Honey how do you explain two almost naked people?
His Grandfather shook his head and refrained from rolling his eyes. "Both of you are planning marriage no?"
Liam bit his lip and didn't respond.
"N-"
"If you are sleeping before marriage surely the plan is that you both will be married" his Grandfather said, cutting me off.
"But we didn't" I quickly responded.
The man looked at me with Eagle eyes. "You want me to believe that?" He laughed "whilst both you stand in front of me with barely any clothes on?"
I bit my lip. There was now as I could possibly explain this situation. He had a point.
His Grandfather looked at us in shame. He turns around to walk away but before he slipped from view, he turned around and opened his mouth to speak.
"Tomorrow I will announce your marriage to the world"

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
