Chapter 5: Preservation
Back in the cave, they set down Wei Ying's body.
Wangji cleaned the blood and wounds, cringing slightly at the smell.
Yingyue fed a sleepy A-Yuan some food which was left for Wangji at the entrance of the cave earlier that morning.
"Pretty jie!!" A-Yuan cried happily pointing at an extremely awkward looking Yingyue.
Wangji just laughed silently at Yingyue's get me out of here look.
"Rich gege!!" A-Yuan turned to Wangji.
"Nah he's your a-niang now!" Yingyue said cheekily.
'That little gremlin,' Wangji thought fondly.
They put A-Yuan back to sleep and sat down.
"We should burn Wei Ying's body" Wangji said reluctantly.
"No we are not going to do that! I have an idea!" Yingyue said indignantly.
She took a deep breath.
"In the future, me and a-die accidentally discovered that this cave has preservational properties!"
"Completely by accident. I had dropped some of the food I had brought in the water. And thinking it would decompose I left it there."
"Then when I went there again on a whim, I saw it was still there completely fresh so I called a-die and we tested it!"
"Sooo..." she grinned like a maniac "it we be a better idea to preserve a-die's body"
"Why would we keep his body Yingyue?" Wangji said trying not to make her sad.
"We can his spirit back to his original body, but to do that we have to find where is spirit is." Yingyue said enthusiastically.
"I'll tell you the plan later for that but first, we must go to Mo Manor." She said seriously.
"To make sure Mo Xuanyu doesn't sacrifice his body in the future? I doubt that will change if we get his spirit back before that" Wangji said furrowing his eyebrows.

"No this is to make sure he doesn't hurt himself, or anyone else. He summoned a-die's spirit desperate for revenge on his abusive family. He could cause something even worse to happen if summoning a-die wasn't an option."
Wangji just nodded in understanding.
"Then we will take him from Mo Manor, away from that family, and I will adopt him," Wangji said firmly, his mind set.
"But to make sure no one sees us, and so the elders don't find out that you're breaking your seclusion, I will go myself to get him." Yingyue said warningly.
Wangji just agreed, if the elders found out he would be punished even more and he wanted to make sure the baby wasn't hurt.
"Be careful then little one, are you going now?" Wangji asked.
"I'm going to put a-die's body in the water first, and then I will leave."
"Here, to see what I'm doing, just look through the little mirror there" she said pointing at the mirror facing the bed.
She gently picked Wei Ying's body and slowly sank down in the water. He watched as she swam slowly towards the bottom.
She gently placed him securely in a little alcove and put a talisman on him to make sure he wouldn't rise to the surface.
She broke to the surface and swam over to Wangji giggling gently.
It warmed Wangji's heart to hear her laughter.
She quickly dried herself with another talisman she had.
"How many talismans do you have?" He asked curiously.
"Too many" she grinned.
She then got her daggers and got ready to go.
"Good luck" Wangji said, as he watched her disappear.

The Nightcore Trilogy
Going to space was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime, but for Reece Danielson and his crew, it was only the beginning. As the fresh astronauts aboard the Zhengzhou International Space Station start their on-the-job training, Reece is shown a discovery that changes his entire worldview. It isn’t long before a tragic accident aboard the station sets off a series of events that not only puts the crew in danger but at odds with each other. The events quickly escalate into a man-made apocalyptic incident on the surface of the planet. A virulent plague is prematurely released which transforms everyone into flesh-eating undead, and that is only the beginning of the troubles. There are far worse things down there than zombies and possibly a few of them lurk on the station itself. The Nightcore Trilogy thematically begins with a heavy sci-fi feel coupled to a gritty space-based horror mystery. The story's layers are slowly peeled back, evolving into something much more supernatural, mythological, and high-fantasy-based. It's a mix of elements from survival horror, zombie apocalypses, ancient mythologies, supernatural stories, and harem anime. It contains semi-descriptive sex scenes (traditional and non-traditional), descriptions of gore, profanity, and adult situations, so I recommend it for mature and open-minded audiences only.

A Primeval Future
Follow the story of a modern caveman as he learns to survive, thrive, and shape his nascent civilization in a world yet untouched by man. Expect a focus on the nitty-gritty of primitive living, especially early on. I plan for this to eventually progressing to the settlement management and politics stage as people gravitate towards the one guy who looks like he knows what he's doing, but this will likely take some time. Despite the occasional system elements, skilling and levels will not be a part of this story. No shortcuts. There will be violence and there will be sexuality but there will be no sexual violence. I hate reading that crap and I hate writing it even more. This is my first serious foray into writing. I plan to put out at least 1 chapter a week, more when I can. Constructive criticism is very much welcomed as are ideas and suggestions! Cover image credit: "Mesolithic camp site" by Wessex Archaeology is licensed with CC BY-NC 2.0.
