Yingyue howled in laughter, shocking everyone.
"Do you even know who Xue Yang truly is Jin Guanyao? Did you even bother to run a background check?"
Meanwhile, everyone there had scattered away from Su She as if he was diseased.
Wei Ying grinned knowingly at Jin Guanyao, enjoying the emotions flickering across his usually masked face.
"Xue Yang is a god Jin Guanyao, he was only under your control because you were the next person to give him an order after Wen Chao died. It's how the nails of control work." Yingyue explained, the crowd reacting dramatically to her words.
"I think you can guess what happens next." Wei Ying smiled at him, the ghost of a smirk on his face.
"No" Jin Guanyao breathed, sounding defeated.
A flash of an object suddenly curled around Yingyue's throat.
"NO!" Wei Ying yelled, horrified at the guqin string wrapped around his daughter's throat.
Blood dripped down her neck, staining her clean robes.
Jin Guanyao grinned viciously, all teeth showing in anger. "I may be exposed, but I can bring you down with me!"
"Su She has committed as many crimes as I have! He was the one who cursed Jin Zixun with the hundred holes curse!"
The crowd again reacted appropriately, turning in horror to look at Su She, who immediately sprinted for the door.
At the same time, Yingyue brought her hand up to the string.
The string was burned by her flame, Jin Guanyao screaming in terror at the flames flickering up his arms.
But that was the last sound that came from him, as simultaneously Yingyue's dagger landed in his throat.
His body fell face forward, blood pooling around the corpse.
Wei Ying brought his flute to his lips and blew.
A dark, black smoky shadow flew at Su She.

The other leaders watched in sick fascination as the smoke consumed him.
Silence.
Xichen stepped forward to speak.
"I think we can agree that Wei Ying is innocent, the testimony of Jin Guanyao's crimes has proven that." He declared.
The rest nodded, looking at Wei Ying with newfound awe and fear.
"IT WAS THE SICK BASTARDS FAULT"
"GET RID OF ANY JINS THEY'RE ALL CRIMINALS!"
Shouts filled the hall.
"QUIET" Wei Ying yelled.
"Now we may have not liked Jin Guanyao, but to stop any others becoming what he became, you need to look at his life story.
How many of you look after children or sick people in your sects? How many of you notice people suffering?
That's right, none of you.
Jin Guanyao became who he was because of the way he grew up. He grew up mistreated by others, and you're surprised he hated all of us?"
A delicate silence followed his words, sinking into everyone's minds.
"Think about it later tonight, but let's move the topic on." Yingyue nodded beside him, agreeing with his statement.

The next day:
Wei Ying joined Yingyue on the dock.
Lotus flowers flowed in the water below, the sunrise turning the water bright orange.
He turned to her, smiling gently when she turned to him.
"Where can I really start, Yingyue? You have done the impossible for us, saved us from pain and time, what can I say to thank you?" He asked.
Yingyue smiled at him. "Nothing. Seeing you and a-niang happy is my thank you. I've seen how my timeline has affected you, and I knew if I could change the ways things happened, I would."
Wei Ying tugged her into a tight hug. He held her tightly, eyes turning slightly teary. His shoulder turned wet, Yingyue's tears soaking into his robes.

"Don't cry." He laughed, Yingyue giggling through her tears.
"WEI YINGYUE!" A voice yelled, making them separate.
"Think you could leave without saying goodbye to me?"
A familiar figure dressed in black stormed down the dock, white hair flying behind him.
Yingyue ran to him, Xue Yang catching her and spinning her around in a hug.
"I never got to thank you for what you've done for me Yingyue, and I'd rather be dead and not say it to you."
Xue Yang smiled softly at her, tear tracks already running down his face.
Yingyue grinned brightly at him and wiped his tears with her gloved hands. "Don't thank me. I did what I thought was right."
"What are you planning to do now ?" She asked him curiously.
Xue Yang's face lit up. "I'm planning to find Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan. I think my powers should be able to heal them. And I really want to make up for what I did to them, even if they won't forgive me."
"That's a good idea" Yingyue smiled sadly, not ready to go.
Footsteps were heard as Lan Wangji and the others came to see her.
She rushed into Wangji's arms, holding him tight.
They held each other tight, the kids joining their huddle.
Wei Ying, having made his way down from the dock, completed their family huddle.
The familial moment was broken by Ai's soft voice.
"Yingyue darling, it's time for you to go."
Yingyue gently extracted herself from her family and walked towards Ai.
She stood still as Ai held out her hand. Blue and red ribbons came out from her sleeve, wrapping themselves around Yingyue's figure.
They watched as the display came to a climax. Abruptly all the ribbons dropped, the space where Yingyue was, empty.
Wei Ying held Wangji, who was taking Yingyue's departure badly, having known and spent time with her the longest.
Ai smiled at them, and snapped her fingers. She too, disappeared into dust.
Xue Yang gave Wangji a comforting pat on the back and left the small family at the dock too.
"She's amazing, can't believe she's our future daughter." Wei Ying said to Wangji, who nodded holding Wei Yuan and Xuanyu's hands tightly in his.
"Guess she managed to Change the Past?"

Heaven's Fall
There is an old saying, that only when one has fallen into the pits of darkness can they truly appreciate the light. But let me ask this of you, traveller, what of the monsters born in the darkness? This is the story of one such monster, Sendrien Dagon, the Demon Lord of Destruction, and the First Demon Lord. Evil looks to have its due... but first, it has to figure out how to deal with being trapped in a contract with an 8 year old girl. Follow Diane's struggle to mainter her humanity in a dark and unforgiving world, and slowly unravel the mysteries of Heaven's Fall in a living, breathing world where even the slightest mistake can cause the mighty to fall. While I do like to include humor here and there, expect things to get really, really dark and brutal. Do not take the grimdark, gore, and traumatising content tags lightly, especially from Book 2 onwards. Character art by: Xian

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
