《His Unexpected Gang》17| Don't be mad.

I'm bored eating in the kitchen when my mom comes in. "Could you grab a few groceries for me?" Knowing my mom, she's really just telling me too.
"Of course!" I say, happy to finally be doing something.
She hands me a list of everything we need and then hugs me. "Thank you!"
I grab my phone and wallet and walk to the garage. I get into my car and start the engine. On my way to the store, I noticed a car following me.
I take several random turns and realize that car is following me! I continue making turns and try to lose the red car. I glance at my rearview mirror and see the vehicle is still behind me. My heartbeat begins to quicken.
I grab my phone and ask Siri, "Call Boyfriend ❤️"
"What's up, girlfriend?" Ashton asks. I feel my heart rate slow down, and I breathe.
I fight back a smile and say seriously, "I think someone is following me."
"Where are you?" Ashton asks, concerned.
"I was supposed to head to Target to buy groceries... But now, I don't know what to do." I say.
"Are you wearing the necklace I gave you?" Ashton asks.
"Really? You're worried about that..." I say, rolling my eyes.
"Don't be mad," Ashton says.
"What did you do?" I ask.
"There's a tracker on your necklace. It was only for Evanescent purposes, I swear!" He confesses.
"You're not as creepy as you think you are. I might have put a tracker on the watch I gave you." I mumble.
"And here I thought you cared about me," Ashton says.
"I do!" I say loudly. "I mean, it was for Evanescent purposes... I just didn't want anything bad happening to you." I say quietly.

"And nothing will," Ashton says softly. "Are you still being followed?"
I glance at my mirror and see no one trailing behind me. "Lynn? Are you still there?" Ashton asks
"There's no one following me," I say. "Maybe I am being paranoid..."
"Understandable. Do you want me to meet you at Target?" Ashton asks, trying to ease my mind.
"That's okay. I won't be too long." I say, driving into the Target parking lot. I enter the building and take out the grocery list.
This seems easy enough. I grab a cart and start looking for the products. 30 minutes later, I finally head to the register. After I pay, I carry the grocery bags to the car.
I open the trunk and start loading the bags in. I close the trunk and realize a red car is parked beside me. The windows are tinted, so I can't see who's inside, and I begin to panic when the door opens. I see it's just Mila and sigh with relief.
"Hey, Adalynn!" She says, smirking. "Funny seeing you here."
"I was just buying groceries for tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner," I say.
She walks toward me and frowns. "Aww, that's a shame..."
"What is?" I ask, slowly inching towards the driver's side.
"You won't be with your family tomorrow..." She says, reaching for my neck. I gasp and see her trying to insert a needle into my neck.
I punch her face, and she stumbles back. "Fucking bitch." I mutter, trying to get into my car. Mila stops me from closing my car door, and I kick her side.
Another person opens the passenger car door and shoves me towards Mila. She wraps her hand around my neck and quickly inserts the needle.
I grab the knife I keep at the bottom of my shoe and stab her arm. "You motherfucker!" She screams with wide eyes.
My vision starts to blur, and I begin to feel woozy. The other person from before picks me up from my seat, and I try to click the panic button on my key.
"I don't think so." Mila grunts, grabbing my keys. "Nighty night bitch." I hear her whisper before blacking out.

Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Trying to discover his place in the world, Jerry will live great adventures. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're looking for another fun, action-packed adventure, check out Cultivator vs. System by yours truly, available on Kindle, KU, and Audible. But read Good Guy Necromancer first.
