《Love At First Fight {Regulus Black}》3. IT MIGHT NOT BE TOO BAD

like the hundredth time, as her eyes drooped and her head was propped up using her hand, "How are you so cheerful in the mornings?" She groaned, rolling her eyes at Donna who - despite it being the morning - seemed to already be bouncing off the walls as she stuffed her breakfast down her throat.
"What can I say, I love mornings," She said with her mouth full of food, causing the red head to let out a disgusted groan, "Close your mouth when you eat, please," Ivy mumbled, picking at the pancake that sat on top of the gold plate in front of her.
"Hello, ladies, don't fret your day has gotten much better now that I'm here," Jasper said in a loud, obnoxious voice before he sat down on the bench at the Gryffindor table and began shovelling breakfast food onto his plate.
"Jeez, you sound like Lockhart," Ivy commented, briefly looking up at her friend. Gilderoy Lockhart was a blonde, semi-attractive Ravenclaw a couple of years above Ivy herself. He may have the looks that made some girls swoon, but Ivy thought he looked like a toad; probably because of his extremely vein personality.
Jasper rolled his eyes, "Thank you, that's what I was going for," He replied before digging his hand into his robe pocket and pulling out three pieces of parchment, "I bumped into McGonagall on the way here. These are our timetables," He explained shoving two of the timetables over to Donna and Ivy, "Now, Ivy, don't kill yourself when you see it."
The red head cocked an eyebrow, her jade eyes glanced down at the parchment and she let out an annoyed groan, slamming her head down onto the table in front of her; catching the attention of a few students sitting close by, "Why?" She cried, "Why!?"

"Oh, calm down, Ivy," Donna said, "It might not be too bad."
Lifting her head off the table, Ivy stared at her friend in disbelief, "'It might not be too bad'? What is wrong with you?" She asked, "If double potions with Slytherins isn't 'too bad' I don't know what is anymore."
"At least then Regulus would have to be a bit more secretive about his constant staring at you," Jasper mumbled under his breath, but Ivy heard every word and turned to face him, "What?" She asked.
"Yeah, he keeps doing it," Donna quickly added, her voice quiet as she looked at her red head friend, "It's really creepy."
Casually, Ivy began moving her head around the Great Hall, her eyes briefly met with a set of icy blue ones causing her to quickly turn around, "What a creep," She mumbled under her breath as she felt uncomfortable with knowing her was watching her like a hawk.
"Anyways, enough about the Slytherins," Jasper interjected, "I overheard James talking about a party...tonight. And guess what? We're invited!"
"Oh, yay," Donna mumbled sarcastically, "Cannot wait."
Ivy snorted at her friend's response, shrugging her shoulders, "Who knows, Donna, it might not be too bad," She told her with a teasing smirk plastered on her face.
the potions classroom.
The red head girl was practically falling asleep, sure, potions was a very interesting subject, but first classes every year Professor Slughorn seems to drone on and on. Ivy's eyes drifted all around the classroom, seeing everyone's expressions looking as dreary as her own and she couldn't wait until Slughorn let them get on with the actual potion brewing. The whole class letting out annoyed groans caused the red head to snap out of her daydream and look at an annoyed Jasper.

"What did he just say?" Ivy whispered.
"He's partnering us up...again," Jasper groaned, rolling his eyes with an annoyed expression, "Swear to God, I better get paired up with a Gryffindor."
Luckily for Jasper he got his wish, he fist bumped the air when Slughorn told him his partner; Donna Bitterwood. With a smug look on his face, he turned to the red head as she gathered her potions book and her quill before moving off the stool, allowing her other friend to sit down in it.
"Told you it wouldn't be too bad," Donna whispered smugly as she walked past Ivy who rolled her eyes, "Yeah, for you," The red head fired back.
"Miss McKinnon...with Mr Rosier."
Ivy sent a 'good luck ' look towards the blonde.
"Miss Evans with... Mr Black."
The colour drained from Ivy's face.
She sent a nervous look to Donna and Jasper as she let out a sigh. Her jade eyes travelled over to where Regulus was seated, his head was hanging lowly as he kept his gaze on the potions book in front of him. With a exhale, Ivy tightened the grip on her books before she felt her feet begrudgingly moving her towards Regulus' table.
Without a word, she placed her books down; an action that finally caught the black haired boy's attention. His icy blue eyes finally looked up, watching as Ivy took a seat besides him, her eyes not leaving her books as she felt his burning gaze in the side of her face. She heard Slughorn's instructions on what potion the newly paired students would have to make; Draught of Peace.
Without uttering a single word to Regulus, Ivy practically jumped out of her seat and walked over to the ingredient cupboard. Standing besides Donna as she whispered things to the brunette whilst taking the required ingredients down from the shelves. Regulus' gaze on the red head barely broke as he watched her taking her time with grabbing the ingredients, before she made her way back over to their shared table.
