they want a piece of my mind.

they want to take off the coat

of my shoulders like i chose

to disguise myself from the cold

and its nights.

they want to bite on the tip of

my fingertips like i selected who to love.

they want to push me to the edge,

just because i wonder about time;

they want to watch me skate on

thin ice like a snow child,

they want to smile at the way i

crawl when i try to make it out alive.

they want to visit my sunrise that has become so dark as i run away from anxiety,

they want to call on my name

like i wasn't worth eternity.

they want to see my heart fall out of my chest like i don't need it,

they want to hurt the child who wrote poetry on her soft skin, on her scars.

they want to redeem my faults like a perfect destructive machine,

they want to sin by my words and

darkness not because i was the one who cried with 'sin'.

they want to confuse who i am, with who i have become.

they want to betray my trust and

expect me to be the forgiver,

they want a darker version of my

poetry not the pain that i hide.

they want to gently remind my

demons that they are present,

they want to wash guilt over

heavy wounds, they want to pray for heaven but are trapped in hell,

they want to come clean to

my kindness, to corrupt the

innocence in me not knowing

that i have already been

touched by venom.

they want to declare war with

a loaded gun at the sunflowers

inside of me, they want to fight their shadows like they weren't made out of their own reflections, they want to ruin the image of

heaven that is slipping past

my eyes;

they want a piece of my heart

that has been crushed by change.

they want it all.
