《Ink & Tears》Portland

Protestors grip the nation if that's what they can be called at all

Thugs waving banners and in sighting riots

Screaming equality while alienating

If you are white and male you must be evil

Protestation for the environment

Yet they leave litter and broken windows in their wake

Flipping cars and lighting fires with no consideration of those left in the wake

Blocking traffic for miles

Assaulting those with differing opinions while crying hear me

Don't censor me it's a free country unless you don't agree with me

They vandalize shops and shoot cops

The very people trying to keep the community together

What happened to the ideals and integrity of King

The peacefulness of Gandhi who defied the most powerful nation in the world

Look to the past for success

Nothing has ever been gained from civil desertion

Where are the Rosa Parks who defiantly sat

She changed a nation with peace, pride, and stoicism

Today she is still remembered and taught in school

Not for violence or lude signs and behavior

She didn't burn busses or break out windows

She sat in heroic defiant silence.
