《A Little Good Influence | Max Thunderman x Reader》Epilogue

You were running a little late, but they would understand right? You just saved a whole city from a dam breaking and had to redirect the water to the ocean so that was a reasonable explanation for being late.
Right?
You really shouldn't have worn heels today...
Slightly struggling in your stilettos, you were using your powers to morph all the water from your hair before applying a tiny bit of lipstick while looking in your reflection through the window and watching all the cars zoom past.
What kind of superhero took the bus anyway?
Even though you knew the Thundermans were your family, you felt nervous visiting them back in Hiddenville after a long time of being apart.
You released a shaky breath, everything changed since you last saw them and you knew they would be devastated to find out the news, and the fear of telling them was building up in you.
'It's okay, not like they can kill you or anything. You've face more difficult villains,; You told yourself, trying to calm down, 'Just come right out and say it. Max and I aren't dating anymore—'
You were pulled out of your trance by the sudden stop of the bus and you looked up to realize that you were at your stop. You quickly made your way out, swiftly walking towards the Thunderman's house.
When you got there, you noticed the familiar man standing at the front door, seemingly hesitating.
"Hey." You smiled awkwardly at him, reaching for a stiff hug when he returned the greeting tensely. There was definitely tension hanging in the air between the two of you and you felt even more nervous than you did before.
"Should we tell them? They're gonna be so devastated." You asked, trying to convince him not to say anything.
"They're gonna find out one day. What are we gonna do when they start asking about moving in and marriage?" He retorted and you sighed, knowing he was right.
"Then you tell them, they're your parents."
He narrowed his eyes at you, "They're your parents too."
"I hate it when you're right."
"It doesn't have to be difficult, we'll just come right out and say it. We're not dating anymore—" He was cut off my the door swinging wide open and his mother stood on the other side, beaming at the sight of the both of you.

"What are you two doing just standing out here? Come in."
You smiled gratefully at her and entered the house, looking at the familiar house, "Wow, I haven't been here in a long time."
"Well time flies when you're saving the world." She replied, " I wouldn't expect the two of you to come anyway, since you live so far away."
You nodded, "Yeah, but I should visit more often."
Dinner was pretty comfortable considering the dread filling in your stomach at the thought of telling them. They would be so devastated.
"So, we know that you don't want us to put any pressure on you but we found out that we still have the lease on our old house back in Metroburg and if you wanted, we could give it to you." Said Barb and you froze, your heart stopping in your chest.
"And I know you both think you're too young but we both think that you should move in together. You both live in the same city and it would just be easier and...." You didn't hear the rest of her words, just hearing the blood rushing through your ears.
Max, sensing that you were going to have a nervous breakdown, spoke, "Mom, dad we have something important that we need to tell you."
The stopped in the middle of their speech and you released a shaky breath, looking at Max for reassurance and he nodded. You took a deep breath, looking around at the entire family sitting at the dinner table.
"We're not dating anymore," Max started and you saw everyone's faces fall in disbelief, "We're married now."
Hesitantly, you both held up your hands to show the wedding bands on your fingers and the color seeped out of your cheeks when you saw them staring at the two of you in horror.
"We got married a week ago, I'm sorry we didn't tell you." Max said softly and you nodded, "And we moved in together 4 months ago. We meant to tell you, we just didn't know how..."
The were still staring at you with gaping mouths but the sound of Chloe giggling brought them out of their trances, "What the f—!!!"

Billy, Nora and Chloe were sitting in the kitchen while you and Max got scolded like children in the living room by his parents and twin sister.
"How?! Could you get married without telling anybody!?" Barb shouted, pacing in the living room an you flinched, holding onto Max's hand a little tighter.
"It was after a really difficult mission last week," Max began, "We nearly died and it was just a wake up call to the two of us, we went to the courthouse that night."
"You could've just gotten engaged instead of getting married that night! You're only 21 for god's sake!" Hank scolded, with a disappointed glare and you sighed, feeling so nervous you could throw up.
"Hey! We don't have to explain our actions to you! We wanted to get married and you guys weren't gonna stop us!" He started, standing up but you pathetically tugged his hand, trying to get him to calm down.
"If you were going to get married, you could have at least told us! Do you know how robbed I feel? I missed my oldest son's and daughter's wedding!" Even though you knew she was upset, hearing Barb call you her daughter filled you up with such happiness that you couldn't stop the small smile from appearing on your face.
"We know you're upset about that but we have a proposition. During our ten year anniversary, when we're both 31 and around the age that most people get married, we have the whole big wedding that you guys wanted. The whole shabang." You tried, hoping it would dissolve some of the tension but it didn't work. They still looked upset.
"We're sorry, we really are, but at the time we weren't thinking about any of it. If I could go back in time, I'd change it but I don't regret it." You told them, looking up at all of them from your place on the couch.
"(Y/N), I can't believe that you got married without telling me, I mean, I was supposed to be your Maid of Honour." Phoebe said sadly and you felt guilty. You had promised her that she'd be your Maid of Honour and Cherry would be hers and you'd be Cherry's. It was a plan but you messed it up.
You quickly stood up, "Phoebe does it really matter that you were supposed to be my Maid of Honour?"
"Of course it does—!"
"I mean, sure maybe it does matter just a bit, but isn't it more important that we're sisters now?" You told her, smiling when you saw her upset melt away as she was struck with realization.
"We're sisters now, Pheebs, and more importantly, you're gonna be an aunt."
"What?!" They all shouted and you froze, leaning towards your husband, "Did we forget to tell them I was pregnant?"
"Yep, I think we did."
"Oh, shit."
"You're pregnant?" Asked Barb, her eyes were alarmingly wet and she held her hands to her mouth.
You nodded and she immediately burst into tears, followed by Hank and then Phoebe and you smiled, when Max wrapped an arm around your waist, pressing a kiss to your temple.
"I hope you aren't upset anymore." You said cutely and they immediately shook their heads, calling Billy, Nora and Chloe out for group hugs.
You smiled when Max wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling your back to meet his chest, holding you tightly as you stared out of the window.
"I love you." He muttered, placing kisses to the back of your head and you giggled, holding his arms.
"I love you too."
"Thank you for giving me our family." He sighed, pressing a kiss to you shoulder and you turned in his grasp to wrap your arms around his neck.
"You're the one who gave me family." You said gently, pressing a kiss to his lips.
"No, I meant our family. The three of us." He murmured, rubbing a gentle hand over your belly and you sent him a sweet smile, running your hands through his hair before kissing him.
"Actually the four of us."
His eyes widened, "Four of us?"
You grinned sheepishly, "Twins run in your family."
