《wrong number ~ wilbur soot》thirty nine

Cora woke up, seeing that Wilbur had clung on to her even more while she was asleep. His breathing was steady, but he kinda twitched his leg and his face was all scrunched up.
Cora sighed, taking one of her hands and traced it along the delicate skin of his distressed face. His eyebrows unfurrowed and his face settled into a peaceful look. She continued tracing his features, finishing the 'drawing' with a kiss on his cheek.
She was dying to know what had happened last night. Her biggest suspicion was that he cheated, even if he denied it last night.
Wilbur began to stir which made Cora flinch away. She knew this was about to be really awkward. His eyes fluttered open, his face morphing into a small smile as he held onto her tighter, feathering small kisses on her revealed collar bone. "I like you." He said, smiling on her skin.
Cora nibbled on her lip out of impatience and nicked him in the head. "You wanna tell me what the fuck happened last night? Because I swear I've seen Gone Girl, Wilbur. I know how to frame you for murder."
He smiled at her reference, but it instantly morphed into a look she couldn't decipher. Her heart started to thump harder and tiny tears crinkled in her eyes. He cheated, you can tell and damn does it hurt. She didn't remove herself from his hold though. Cora wanted it to feel normal for a little longer.
"Well, who was it?"
He scrunched up his face at the question. "What?"
She blew out a frustrated breath and began to sit up, pushing away from him. "Who did you sleep with?" Wilbur looked away and smiled at that, almost blushing. Her jaw dropped, he cheated and he's smiling? Oh what an asshole.

The tears that were tiny before, grew 3x larger and threatening to fall. "How can you sit here and be all snuggly with me while thinking about another person. This is why I have a huge preference for girls, Wilbur."
He looked back up to her, now realizing she was serious and scooted closer, grabbing both of her cheeks in his hands. "God, I didn't cheat on you with another person Cor. Are you absolutely mad? I thought you meant us, I thought you were joking about us having fucking sex."
Cora rolled her eyes and covered her hands over his face, pushing him away. "You're are the most idiotic person I know. A child. Why would I be talking about us? You left me in that cafe, with no ride back by the way, and didn't come home till very late last night. I know I have no right to be so controlling, but come on. Did you sleep with someone else? Just tell me the truth. I can take it."
He returned back to his spot and placed his hands on her cheeks again. Cora took in his warmth, almost melting to his touch, just as a big, fat, traitorous tear slid down her face. "I can't take it." She whispered, trying not to sob.
Wilbur rested his forehead against hers, wiping the tear away. "I did not and will never cheat on you, Cora. Okay? I just thought I needed a breather. Which I was wrong. I'm sorry to make you doubt me, but trust me, my love, you're it. You're the breath of fresh air I need."
Cora searched his eyes for dishonesty, but it seemed he was being genuine. He didn't cheat, but that doesn't explain shit.
Cora closed her eyes, still forehead against forehead and sniffled. "Ew, super cringey, I'm going to barf on your shoes." She sighed out.

He grinned huge and pecked her lips. "Also about the living situation, I was being overdramatic, like alot. I know it's too soon. So please forgive me."
She glared at him, remembering the cause of this whole thing and pushed him off of her.
"I'm still mad at you. You can't come in here and cling to me, saying some stupid pick up line, Wil. Where did you go yesterday? Why no text or call or literally anything? If you didn't cheat, then why did you seem so guilty last night? Spill or I swear I will chop off your dick, cut it in bite size peices and feed it to you."
Wilbur smiled, he smiled. A legit psychopath.
"I can explain it all, I swear, but let's go back to sleep, yeah? I'm tired, you're tired and when we wake up I'll tell you everything. Every event, landmark, thought I had. Everything."
Cora deadpanned. "Sure, okay. You wanna sleep with the chance of waking up to no Wilbur Jr.?"
"I'll take my luck." He said, laying his head on her chest and circling his arms around her waist.
He still felt her heart beating fiercely and her breathing ragged. God, she really thought he cheated on her.
Wilbur lifted his head to meet her eyes, frowning at her red rimmed eyes. He took a peice of her hair and tucked it behind her ear, kissing the skin under her ear. "I love you."
With her eyes still closed, once again, she sighed, moving her hands to sit in his hair where she began to play with the strands.
"Gross."
He had a small smile and pecked her red nose, settling back on her chest, not going to sleep until he felt her breathing and heart beat return to normal.

This reborn personal trainer is going to whip the royal army into shape!
Olympics Sports Trainer, Meg Thompson, had never even heard of an otome game, so when she died in Japan during the Tokyo Games and was reincarnated into one in error as the minor character, Briar Bell, she might have unintentionally messed just about everything up for the true heroine...Whether it was her befriending villainesses, or hanging out with capture targets, from the moment she was born she was setting the plot careening off course. (although if you ask her, the original storyline was stupid and hopeless to begin with #SorryNotSorry)The Heroine was supposed to seduce this medieval-esque kingdom's most eligible bachelors in order to use the power of their love to stop the encroaching demon army from destroying humanity with her heart magic. Playing the role of 'heroine' was another reincarnated woman named Sakura, a hardcore Japanese otaku who had previously been hit by a truck in a tale as old as time.Whether it is the fault of Sakura's social ineptness (as Briar would claim) or from her own interventions, humanity is now heading towards total decimation. Seems like she'll have to brush off her coaching skills and get this royal army into fighting form.

Artemis
"Let them go, Dante." I whip my head to see a small boy standing the clearing with blonde hair and a green cloak hanging from shoulders. He isn't very tall however he holds his stance well. He doesn't seem to be more than Cassandra's age. Maybe 12 at most. I abruptly turn my head back hearing the man holding a sword to my throat chuckling with a sinister grin. "Oh, poor boy, what are you go to do about it?" The yellow teeth gleam as he begins stalking towards the boy who does not look the least bit fazed. I look around at the other men who are following the leader. I pull Cassandra tighter to my back as I take small steps back. I keep my eye trained on the men but also fear for the naive boy. "Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what? I take the moment to stick Cassandra behind a nearby tree. She crouches down while I pull my sword out from its place. "How do you know my name?" The scoundrel raises his sword challenging towards the boy before taking a final step towards him. Then the unexpected happens. The young boy chuckles so darkly. It sounded almost... demonic. All the men instinctively raise their swords. "Oh Dante, I didn't know your name... but you know someone dear to me." "Spit it out boy!" The once grinning man is now looking around frantically. I continue my eyes scanning the small boy. He looks directly me and gives me a small nod before saying one word that caused all hell to breaks loose. "Artemis." Artemis is not an ordinary girl. She grew up in the wilderness after being shunned due to unique abilities and her different physical attributes. Blessed with an ability that scared others, she roams the wild with only her guarded one. That is until she stumbles into a situation that brings her in front of a prince.
