《Invisible | Tsukishima Kei x Reader》Chapter 23

"Okay" you say tying an apron around your back. "Lets get started!"
You turn to Tsukishima who stands there wearing an apron decorated in splashes of the rainbow and a lot of glitter. You raise your eyebrow, "do you really want to wear that one? I made it in first grade"
"Oh, really? I thought this was one of your more recent works" Tsukishima sneers. You punch his shoulder.
"Hey! Shut up. I was voted the most artistic first grader." You stand confidently. Tsukishima tries to hold back his laughter as you brag about your countless elementary accomplishments.
You roll your eyes and take out a small box wrapped in a salmon pink bow. Inside lies index cards with recipes you and Kiyoko mades over the years. You run your fingers threw each recipe, picking one out. You take out an index card and place it on the table neatly.
"Pizza?" Tsukishima looks over your shoulder at the handwritten card.
"Yep," You open the refrigerator and take out a bag of dough that you made in the morning. You swiftly sprinkle flour onto the table.
-
You place the pizza in the oven as Tsukishima slides his finger in the flour and wipes his finger across your cheek. Your mouth hangs open as you loudly gasp.
"How. Dare. You!" You grab a handful of flour and smack it into Tsukishima's face. Tsukishima blows the powder off his face, creating a storm of flour. You cover your eyes as Tsukishima sneak attacks you and places his hands on your cheeks and spreads more on it. You both stare at eachother as the flour settles on the floor and counters. At the same time, you both begin laughing.
After you finish cleaning up, you sit on top of the counter. You grab a damp rag and rub it against Tsukishima's face, who now is of equal height to you.
"What are you doing?" Tsukishima moves his face away.
"Cleaning your face dummy, so stop moving" you hold his shoulder
"You know, the whole flour thing doesn't look too bad on you." You chuckle softly. You don't notice Tsukishima's tinted cheeks as you lean in close. Tsukishima likes the feeling, and doesn't want this moment to end.

Tsukishima impulsively puts his hand to your cheek. He rubs his thumb across your cheek to rub off some powder. Even though he says he doesn't want to mess up your relationship with Misawa, some part of him wants to tell you how he feels. Tsukishima pulls his hand away and holds it as he turns red.
You jump down from the counter, forcing a laugh you say, "I better go clean off. I'm going to go shower"
You run upstairs into the bathroom and lock the door. You lean against the door and turn to the mirror. To your surprise, your face is a deep red.
In the kitchen, Tsukishima bends down taking off his glasses. Covering his flushed face with his hand, the middle blocker repeats on a loop, "Idiot. Idiot. Idiot"
—
You walk down the stairs, drying your (H/C) hair with a towel. Your face still reminisces the faint hint of pink. You turn to the living room to see the back of a relaxed Tsukishima on the couch. You wrap the towel around your neck and tiptoe across the cold wooden floor. You place your hands on the side of the middle blocker's face and carefully lift his black glasses. Surprisingly, Tsukishima doesn't budge. You stand on your toes and lean your head over to see Tsukishima's face. No longer tense, his face is more relaxed as he snores softly. You lean your head on your arms as you just stare at him sleeping.
You jump back onto the floor when the timer signally the cooked pizza rings throughout the house, waking up Tsukishima. He touches his face and turns around.
"Oi, shortie." Tsukishima turns around to see a blur of your figure sitting on the floor. "Give me my glasses"
"You cant make me" you tease. Tsukishima gets up as you run to the oven. "Ah. You can't attack me now I'm getting the pizza!"
Tsukishima squints his eyes, trying to distinct you from the rest of the kitchen. You place the freshly cooked pizza on the counter as the aroma fills the house.

"Where are you?" Tsukishima walks around with caution.
"I bet you can't find meee" You say skipping around the house, holding the spectacles in your hand. Unexpectedly, Tsukishima places his hand on the wall, bringing you to an abrupt stop as he stands only a small distance from you.
"I thought you couldn't find me!" You stammer.
"I can still see you idiot" He places his glasses on his face. You pout as the corner of Tsukishima's mouth rises. Your stomach grumbles as you push Tsukishima away.
"Anyways... let's eat!" You say as the sound of the door opening catches your attention.
Kiyoko stands in the doorway with bags of groceries. "I'm home"
"Kiyoko! You're just in time!" You smile, cutting the pizza into even pieces. (Chuck E. Cheese could never)
"Smells good. Did you guys work on it together?" Kiyoko places the bags down. You hum a yes as you place a slice on a plate for yourself and your sister.
"What? Not going to make a plate for me? I'm a guest after all." the middle blocker smirks.
"Beanstalk is a big boy. I'm sure he's capable of making his own plate" You shrug as Tsukishima rolls his eyes.
As Kiyoko, Tsukishima, and you settle in your seats, all of you clap your hands together and say in unison, "Thanks for the food."
—
You stand in the backyard, picking the strawberries you grew in the garden. You look at the window and see Kiyoko and Tsukishima washing dishes and discussing something— you don't know. You ignore the growing jealousy and take the basket of strawberries to the steps of the back porch. You sit on the stairs as you eat one.
Tsukishima opens the door, "Are you seriously eating more right after dinner?"
"Don't judge." You say, taking another strawberry.
"What gave you that idea?" Tsukishima sarcastically gasps.
"Want one?" You lean your chin on your hand, ignoring his comment.
"Sure." He sits next to you and goes through the basket. He picks out a bright red one shaped like a heart. He takes a bite of it as he tries to start a conversation. "How are you and Misawa doing?"
You shift your head to the crescent moon hanging in the sky. "Fine, I guess"
Tsukishima looks over at you. "What do you mean?"
You fidget with a strawberry. "I mean... he's been pretty busy with work and stuff."
Or at least thats what he's saying a voice says in the back of your mind. You shake off even thinking about that.
"Oh" Tsukishima looks at your saddened face.
"But it's fine!" You try to muster up a happy tone. You sigh, hugging your knees. "I'm lying."
"What?"
"I've actually been pretty lonely" You look to the side. "This afternoon is the first time this week I've actually spent time with someone... Kiyoko has been busy with the club and I guess... I wish i had someone to hang out with."
Tsukishima hesitates and pats your back awkwardly. "Sorry. I don't know what to say"
You laugh softly. "It's fine... you being here is enough."
Tsukishima covers his mouth as his face reddens. You turn to him, "W-What?"
"Could it be?" You grab his arm. "Is the Tsukishima Kei, FLUSTERED?!"
"Shut up" He puts his hand on your face and pushes you away. You laugh as you poke his flushed face.
"Hehe" You cross your legs.
"Whatever" Tsukishima looks away as you laugh. The corner of his mouth lifts up after hearing your words. You stand up and dust off your clothes.
"I better take these strawberries in before we eat them all" you smile.
Tsukishima stares at the moon and smiles to himself. He walks back in the house and watches The Good Dinosaur with you and Kiyoko.
