Of course I said yes.
I would be an idiot to not say yes.
I'm going to be honest if I say I almost started crying. I'm just really emotional okay. I had a though few weeks and it's all taking a toll on me.
Liam couldn't stop the gorgeous smile from crossing over his face as he pulled me closer.
" Now I can finally call you mine, well with your approval this time." he laughs to himself.
It wasn't a secret that Liam and I had feelings for each other. Circumstances made it difficult for us to focus on ourselves and our relationship. People just assumed we were together when in reality we never talked about putting a label on our relationship.
After an intense workout to relief some stress, we packed up and headed back home. We made a pit stop at Starbucks for some coffee and at McDonald's for lunch.
It was nearly lunch time when we got back to my house. Mom was busy baking while Chicka was taking a nap upstairs. I nearly had a heart attack when I didn't see the baby monitor I use to check up on Chicka when she isn't in the same room as me. Turns out mom had it in her back pocket.
We finished lunch and Liam had to go to a few meetings involving his gang. I don't want any interest in what he is doing and what's to come. I rather stay out of gang related business.
" Everly." mom says clearing her throat as she takes out the pastry that was in the oven.
The kitchen instantly smells like a bakery. Mmm yum. I literally ate about 10 minutes ago and I already feel my stomach calling out for more.
"Yes my precious birth giver?" I answer while drooling over the cake on the island.
Mom eyes me weirdly while grabbing a knife and sticking it into the middle of the cake to make sure the cake is baked on the inside as well.
" I didn't want to say anything in front of Liam but what the hell was Justin doing here?" she asks pulling out the knife and checking for stains.

I knew this question was bound to be asked. I look over to the baby monitor that is now placed on the island as well to see Chicka still fast asleep.
" I honestly don't know mom. He claims that he just wanted to stop by but I have a funny feeling that he is up to something." I say licking my upper lip.
Damn that cake smells and looks delicious.
" Is he on Chicka's birth certificate?" she asks softly.
" No he's not. " I say thinking back to when I had to give the information to the nurse to fill out.
Incase you were wondering I didn't give her the name Chicka to put on her birth certificate. I wanted to wait for Liam to help me choose a suitable name for her. It just didn't feel right deciding on a name for her at the time without Liam helping me. For now her birth certificate states that her name is Chloe. That will definitely be her second name but it won't be her first name.
It's kind of weird seeing as I already know what the second name is but I have no clue on what the first name will be.
That reminds me. I probably have to sit down and think of a name for my new born baby. Can't let her be going around without a name.
Mom and I start discussing names for Chicka. About an hour passes before I hear Chicka's soft whines through the baby monitor. I go up and feed her. By the time I get downstairs Liam was also back. I was surprised to see him back so soon. He's usually busy with meetings the whole day.
" Hey you." I smile walking over to him.
He smiles and kisses my cheek. He then starts digging into the cake.
" Mom. You said I couldn't have cake and now I find Liam sitting here enjoying a large piece of cake." I whine.
" I couldn't resist his pleads. " Mom defends.
I look over at Liam and glare at him. He just smiles innocently and gulps down the rest of the cake. Pig.

" Go pack your things. The four of us are going on a road trip. " Liam informs me.
Road trip? Why am I always the last one to know about these kind of things.
" Liam I can't just pack up and leave. I have to start applying for colleges you know that." I say handing Chicka over to Liam.
Liam rolls his eyes." It's only for the weekend love." he says holding out his finger for Chicka to wrap her hand around.
I look over to mom and she just shrugs. Why do I feel like I'm never going to win when it comes to Liam?
" Fine. Where do you plan on going?" I say giving in.
There really is no point in arguing. Maybe this is what I need. A quick get away and just relax. Today is Thursday so if we leave today then we still got till Sunday. On Monday I need to start applying to colleges before the new semester starts after the holidays.
" The Hamptons." Liam replies leaving me, my mom and probably even Chicka speechless.
When he said road trip I thought he meant like to another city or something, not The Hamptons. At least it's only like a two and a half hour drive from here. I don't want to travel far with Chicka again. She tends to sleep half of the time but the other half I can't keep her calm.
" Are you sure about this Liam?" I ask him just for reassurance.
He rolls his eyes. " Yes babe. I already sorted out the house so if you want me to sit alone in the house the entire weekend you better hurry your fine little ass to the car." he says while pushing me towards the stairs.
My cheeks instantly flush as I look over to my mom who has one of those all-knowing smiles plastered on her face.
There is no denying that I'm feeling excited about this trip. I've never been to The Hamptons before. I make my way upstairs and quickly throw in a few things I'll need for the trip. I also pack Chicka's clothes while she is still with Liam. I make sure that Chicka has enough of everything for the weekend. I grab the last few things and start heading down stairs.
Mom has all her baggage set at the front door. Chicka is now in her arms as I watch Liam heading back and forth to place the baggage into his car. Mom calls me over and I set everything down next to her baggage.
" What kind of work does Liam do seeing he can afford paying for this trip?" Mom questions with eyebrows raised.
I hate lying to my mom. Especially when I know she's only trying to look out for me. Right now I'm just trying to look out for her for a change.
" It's complicated. " I shrug, taking Chicka from mom's grip. She's a happy little baby after her long nap she took. She's smiling and making weird noises. I guess she's excited for the trip as well. Maybe Liam and I can decide on what we want to name her over this trip.
Liam comes back and takes the last bag. " Ready?" he asks with the brightest smile.
I nod and make my way over to his car. It's a black SUV Range Rover. I haven't seen this car before so I'm assuming it's one of his new cars. Chicka's car seat is already strapped in. I buckle her up and climb in next to her. Mom starts arguing with me because she wants to sit next to her granddaughter. I roll my eyes and climb into the passenger seat. At least I can still keep an eye over Chicka.
Liam climbs in and turns to smile at me.
" Let's make this a trip you won't ever forget."

Ruins of Dalághast
I've been writing for as long as I can remember, but I'd always been torn between different projects. That's why I decided to dedicate myself to a pretty strict schedule of writing and editing a single chapter every month since the start of 2019. This is an ongoing, work in progress novel that follows a ragtag group of sellswords as they delve into a lost city on the edge of the known world in search of their fortunes. Within, though, they find much more than they ever expected and find themselves in a race against time to unravel a mystery centuries old. Demonizing Matters
A high fantasy drama about a young woman who finds out a demon secret. This secret sparks a growing conflict between demons and humans. While trying to save her own life and dealing with the unexpected consequences of her actions, she falls in love with a hated demon. We follow the drama of Lita, alongside a cast of several other POV characters, as she discovers secrets (both open and purposefully hidden), makes well intentioned but sometimes disastrous decisions, and encounters prejudices and truths. Demons may be evil… or not. Humans may be good… or not. God is aloof… or not. Publishing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is my first real work! Super excited to be publishing! I don’t spend a lot of time describing gore, sex, trauma or any other type of scene that would be labeled as mature. I've labeled the story as mature in every way more because I don't quite understand the standard and don't know if I've crossed the line at all (and I'd rather be safe than get my story rejected for under labeling ;)). Mostly I hint, start the scene then interrupt/fade out, and in general let the reader know it happens but without making it too explicit. (I’d love to hear how I did on this! And if it was still entertaining/informative without being traumatizing.) This is what I prefer to read myself so that’s what I write. I’m not apologizing. ;) If I mislabeled my mature content it was by accident. And, yes, the pacing was also on purpose. Beyond that, I welcome any feedback you want to give! Enjoy the story!
