《My halfbie - GwinamXreader》Chapter 1

Waking up in the morning is the worst part of the day and nothing will ever beat that. You know if I were lucky the school would just burn down and I could have a lie in. Obviously the school isn't going to burn down so now I'm basically crawling out of my room to get to the shower. "Bloody school" I say to myself while opening the bathroom door and taking off my pyjamas. I quickly shower and the rest of the morning drifts by quickly. I grab a cup and start pouring some milk in before the I hear a loud banging at the door. "ALRIGHT" I say while quickly putting the milk back and grabbing a box from on top the kitchen counter filled with toast.
I go over to the door after taking a sip from the glass and quickly unlock it before going back to the kitchen to finish my milk in peace. "You're going to be late you know that right" the familiar voice of my neighbour says as I see him sit down next to me. "Ye whatever, here make sure to take it alright" I say while handing him the box of toast. "I've already had breakfast" he says as I glance over. "It's for after school idiot, I know you've been coming home late recently and don't try to bullshit me" I say as he sighs but smiles a little and opens the box.
"Can you hurry up we'll be late" he says as I just wave my hand to him. "You worry too much, but feel free to head off now I'll catch up later" I say and drink a little more milk. "Here, all sorted" he says before grabbing the glass off me and drinking the rest. "You ass" I say as he jumps out and runs to the door. "GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE NOW GWI NAM" I yell at the boy that's already running down the corridor while giggling like a little boy. "I was going to enjoy that last bit of milk" I say to myself before turning to the door and shutting it and making sure it's locked.
I jog down the hall and see Gwi nam holding the elevator door open for me. "You're so slow in the morning you know" he says as I glare slightly but get in the elevator since I hated walking down stairs in the morning. "Alright look at me" he says as I tilt my head to face him while he seems to become really concentrated. "You're hair's all messy" he says and reaches over while starting to pat it down and move some strands. "Thanks, you still look stupid but nothing we can do about that" I say as he flicks my forehead before facing the doors as they start to open.
"See you after school right" he says while we walk out. "Sure, try not to cause trouble" I say as he nods before starting to run down the street as I just walk since I just didn't care that much about school. I end up having to run to school anyway as I didn't want to get penalties for being late. I get there quite quickly and end up just waiting by the gate for a while for my friends to show up. "Morning sexy, waiting for me" a guy says while coming over as I just look at him trying to place the name. "Sorry what was your name again" I say since it just wasn't coming to me. "This brat, it's Myung-hwan make sure to remember it baby" he says as I just stare at him and roll my eyes before looking past him.

He definitely said something else but by that point I had put my headphones in and started blasting music to drown his annoying voice out. Eventually I see Suhyeok coming over so I stand up and wave to make sure he spotted me. "Good morning tall boy" I say and take a headphone out to hear him. "Wow insults already, must be a great day" he says sarcastically as I glance back but can't see anyone else I was friends with. "Is Cheongsan and Onjo late" I ask as Suhyeok just shrugs and looks back at the crowd of students flooding into school.
"They'll get here soon let's just wait in class" he says as I nod and start walking without saying anything else. "Actually, I'll meet you there alright" Suhyeok says while staring at the construction building. "So eager to ditch me I see" I joke as he just ignores my comment and walks over to the unfinished building. I shrug it off and start walking to class and wait for Onjo and Cheongsan there. I get into class and take a seat while staring out the window and look for any of my friends even though I wouldn't be able to make them out from this high up.
Soon the students stop flooding in and a few people would appear every now and then running towards the gates. I notice a group of people get stopped at the end by a teacher as they start closing the gates. In a minute or two I see Cheongsan and Onjo walk through the door one looking much happier than the other. I get up and head over to Onjo to say morning. "Morning my dear" I say while hooking my arm around her shoulder. I look up to Cheongsan who's obviously holding back a laugh for some reason. "Everything alright" I say while looking at Onjo that seems a little more down than usual.
"Stupid bag" is all she says before shaking me off and going to her seat. "She got penalties for being late because she carried my bag" Cheongsan says as I nod while looking at the girl. "It's not the end of the world then" I say before we both head over to our friends and sit and start talking. "Hey y/n come help me with this real quick" Gyeong su says while getting up and walking to the door. I nod a little and head over as we walk out the class.
"What did you need help with" I ask as he starts walking down the corridor. "I was just wondering if you were feeling alright, you looked really pale" Gyeong su says as I glance at my reflection which honestly doesn't help very much. "Ye probably not 100% yet after that cold" I say as he nods a little. "You should probably just go home if it's bad, we already said we'll give you the work to copy up on" he says as I smile. "Thanks I'll just give it a minute and see" I say and go to walk back.
"Go to the nurse now and get some pain killers just in case" Gyeong Su says as I sigh a little. "Alright mom" I say jokingly as he just shakes his head and heads back to class. "Make sure to tell the teacher where I am if I'm not back in time" I call as he gives me a thumbs up and goes out of sight as I turn and start heading to the nurse. I knock on the door and head in as she looks up at me. "I was hoping to get some pain killers for this cold" I say simply as she looks at me before getting up and grabbing some paracetamol.

"Take two now and if you don't feel better come and tell me" she says as I nod while thanking her. "Make sure not to push yourself too hard" she says before I leave so I just thank her again not knowing what to say. I walk out and close the door behind while glancing down the corridor as I can see Gwi nam and his friends walking this way. Myung-hwan stops once he gets near to me and the rest of the group stops a little ahead just watching.
"It's so nice of you to keep waiting for me baby" Myung-hwan says while leaning forward slightly as I just look at him feeling disgusted by his presence. "Why would anyone bother waiting for you" I say as he scoffs before reaching his hand up and grabbing my shirt. "Do you want to take that back now" he says acting all confident as I just look down at his hand gripping onto my shirt. "Get your hands off me" I say while looking back up at him. "Why should I listen to you" he says while stepping closer to me.
"You disgust me" I say before shoving him harshly back while he loses his grip and falls back. "You bitch" he says while getting up and raiseing his hand as if he was going to hit me. "Hit me, I dare you" I say and stare at him while he goes to slap me. Before anything can escalate the bell rings loudly through the corridors causing him to stop and look up the speakers. "You think the bell saved you" Myung-hwan says while going to hit me again but Gwi nam wraps an arm around his shoulder. "Come on let's just go to class or teachers will notice" Gwi nam says while most of the group starts walking off down the corridor.
"Fine, you got lucky" Myung-hwan says before turning and walking with the rest down the corridor apart from Gwi nam which stays in front. "Did you really have to do that" he says quietly while staring at the backs of his friends or whatever they are to him. "What, they disgust me, I was just being honest" I say still just looking at Gwi nam. He shakes his head and turns back once his friends were out of sight. "Why were you in there" he asks as I hide the paracetamol in my palm. "Just bringing a friend" I say and smile as he gives me a sceptical look.
"You sure, you look pale" he says quietly still with a scary look on his face. He always had the look on his face when he was in school. I never understood why he did it since he was so nice outside school. "Ye fine" I say as he glances up and down the hall as if he were looking for something. Before I can ask what he was doing he reaches his hand up to my forehead and carefully presses the back of his hand against my temple. I would normally protest against this but his hand felt so nice and cold against my head that I just let him stay there.
"You still have a cold" he says as I don't really listen since I was just enjoying his cold hand against my head. "Dumbass, just go home" he says before stepping back and moves his hand away. "It's not that bad" I say as he just shakes his head. "Go home alright, get some rest and food and get better" he says before heading over to the class since the bell had gone. I walk back over to class and head to my seat where I grab my water bottle and take the paracetamol.
"Everything alright" Cheongsan asks while the teacher goes around taking our phones. "Ye just a little cold" I say as he nods while we both hand over our phones. I gave her a fake one since there was no way I was giving her my actual phone. I sit back in my seat as she starts talking about god knows what while I feel my head aching a little. I let my head fall onto the desk and just tune everything out for a while before I hear chair scrapping loudly against the floor as a few people shout.
I look up thinking someone had a knife or something but no there was a student at the front of the class covered in blood. I look over confused like everyone else as the teacher starts trying to control the situation. A couple of people go over as they leave the class with the girl. I go out the other door since I wanted to know what happened and if it was serious to the point where I could go home. I follow the group as they get to the nurse's office with the girl.
Everyone starts rushing around while I have no idea what to do. They start holding her down as I get it together and grab her leg which was flailing around. I keep her down while they give her a sedative and make sure she starts calming down. She ends up falling asleep because of the sedative as we all stand there not knowing what to do for a moment. I step back after a moment and take everything in as the teacher keeps rushing around. I feel a hand on my shoulder as I look over at Suhyeok that rubs my arm slightly.
"She said to head back to class" he says obviously picking up on the fact that I hadn't heard a thing she said since I was in my own world. "Oh right, I'm going to step out for a second and get some air but I'll be there in a minute" I say as he nods so I head downstairs with Onjo and Cheongsan. I step outside for a moment and crouch down while taking a few breaths of air as I run a hand through my hair. "Hey Cheongsan I think I'm just going to head home if anyone asks just tell them the cold got worse" I say while looking up at the worried boy that's obsessing over how his crush Onjo was doing.
"Great thanks" I say even though I don't think he even heard me. I get up and start walking home while the whole scene plays through my mind in an attempt to make sense of it. It takes longer to get home because of how slow I was walking but once I get home I go over to the sofa and just fall forward onto it. It doesn't take me long to fall asleep just laying there since the cold I had tired me out.

"You know, it won't physically hurt you to be nice for once." I crossed my arms in front of my chest and groaned. "I don't want to take a chance." the corner of his lips lifted a little as he finished his sentence. "Well, you don't hear me complaining. The view of a someone so desperately working out is not a delight either." I retorted in a weary voice. "I bet it isn't." he narrowed his eyes at me and commented. Ugh.. Why is he so damn annoying? He was invading my personal space, making me a bit flustered. The urge to push back his golden-brown hair covering his forehead was increasing with every passing second. "Gladly." he mumbled against my face and then walked past me out of my room. It took me a minute to calm down my racing heartbeat. ... He was a mystery, an enigma I wanted to solve.
